Aspect Inspect

This project is abandoned and its default file will likely not work with the most recent version of World of Warcraft. Whether this project is out of date or its author has marked it as abandoned, this project is no longer maintained.

A hunter mod to help you manage your Aspects.

Type /ai to get list of commands or play about with interface options panel.

Current features;: Monitor if you enter combat with Aspect of the Pack/Cheetah active.; Check if using Aspect of the Hawk/Dragonhawk and you are going low on mana to switch to Aspect of the Viper.; Overlay frame and/or Icon frame to give easy reference to your current active aspect.; Sound toggle for alerts.

There has been a lot of fixes and changes for the 1.1 version.

You can now turn off the 'purple box' which was the overlay frame (see yellow highlight in image), also there is now an Icon frame which can be used with or instead of overlay frame (see red highlight in image). Both these can be turned off if you wish to use only the sounds and/or messages.

Message can now be sent to either Blizz default error frame (bit you usually see 'you can't do that yet' etc.) or Aspect Inspects own seperate message frame.

Lock/Unlock toggle now 'remembers' state during session change.

1.15 fixes issue with out of combat toggle not working correctly and also tweaked localisation a bit so translations can be done a bit more smoothly.

Hey, I have been busy there for a few months with a lot of real life things, the main feature of the addon is the overlay box as it allows you to quickly see what your aspect is. I had big plans on making graphics to be added to the box but with the change that will be coming to hunters with Focus etc I am looking to wait to see how it effects Aspects.

If I do get the time I would love to actually finish the addon totally to what I imagined it to be like, but for now I am really happy it does it's job (even though it's a bit rough looking!).

P.S. Decided I couldn't start another project without at least polishing off Aspect Inspect, even if it's useful life is limited. Just couldn't work on the new one without it nagging at the back of my mind heh.

When I add this addon for my Hunter I get a square purple colored box in the center of the screen that only goes away when I disable the add-on? Cant seem to move it or make it go away any idea what that is<sub><sub>How do I make it go away and still use the UI.</sub></sub>

The square is the main thing about the addon. With using /ai config you will get all the options of the addon. The lock toggle will bring up a drag corner in bottom right of the overlay frame and also message frame so you can resize them. When you also see the border and drag corner you can drag the frames anywhere you want.

Hey fella. First off I would like to say thank you. This Addon is a great help to me and I use it all the time, I have also recommended to many of my friends.

Though I do have a request.
Would it be possible to have a text warning for when there is no Aspect running. This is one of my biggest problems, just remembering to add any aspects when I respawn in a Battle Ground. Many thanks.

Just another thing to add, if you could.

When using Aspect of the Beast some of the warnings do not work. This is a shame as it is my main aspect. Many thanks.

Hey, the addon warnings part doesnt check for aspect of the Beast. In what way does it not work?

A warning for no aspect running should be easy to do, for now you can increase the no aspect opacity and change its colour so its more noticeable in the overlay that you have no aspect.

I'm currently tweaking the addon to make it easier to add future stuff and also make it more customisable.

Hi, really love your Addon it's just awesome. One thing though, is it possible to turn off the sounds in this addon? The screeching noise that it makes when it want's me to switch back to hawk/dragonhawk really grinds on my nerves after a while of playing. The text that comes up on the screen telling me to switch is hard to miss so I don't really need to use the sounds.

please have it check for class!! if not hunter then make it so u have to manually turn it on if for some odd reason you really want it on.. i always forget the command to turn it off for my alts

I would love to see an option that automatically casts aspect of the hawk when entering combat and casts aspect of the viper when leaving combat. Thanks for all of your addons, I've used other of yours and they're great!

Unfortunately any cast ability is a protected function that requires a user mouse or keyboard click to activate. So it would be impossible to auto cast Aspect of the Hawk on entering combat. Out of combat the functions should be available so casting Viper leaving combat should be achievable but do you really want Viper on all the time out of combat?

Awesome idea for an addon! I'm anxious to see how well this goes. Anyhow, I've noticed that when I start a battle with Aspect of the Pack on, even after I change to a battle Aspect, I still get the message to change aspects. One good thing this addon did was alert me to how useful Aspect of the Viper is. Before installing this addon, I considered it worthless. Now, a few shots with my crossbow and Aspect of Viper on and I'm fully recharged! Thanks!

Yeah the messages going of all the time is a big issue with the current beta and I just haven't been able to fit in the time to get the current rewrite published with Christmas looming, but I do hope to work on it over the next few days.
