ArkInventory
ArkInventory (for The War Within)
:boom: Please ensure you are using the latest alpha version if you have the War Within client.
ArkInventory (for Retail, Classic, and Cataclysm)
ArkInventory's display windows are built from "virtual bars", you assign categories to bars so that items in that category are displayed on the specific bars you want. There is no limit to the number of bars you can have inside a window but obviously you only have so much screen real estate before it becomes "too many".
ArkInventory uses several methods to assign a default category to an item such as what professions you have, tooltip scanning, basic type/subtype and PeriodicTable. You then assign those categories to a virtual bar.
You can also over-ride the default category by creating a rule that matches either a single or multiple items.
Overview:
- user configurable window width and height
- separate keybindings for each location for easy viewing
- assign items to a category of your choice (overrides the default assignment)
- assign categories to the bar of your choice
- unlimited number of bars (there are practical limits though before your screen becomes full)
- sort each bar differently if required
- user configurable bars per row
- sell junk items automatically or manually (delete available via a keybinding or right clicking when at a vendor)
- random pet and mount summons. can also assign a group of them to select from
Key Bindings:
- Press ESCAPE to bring up the blizzard menu
- click on Key Bindings
- scroll down to AddOns > ArkInventory
- bind the keys you want to use

:boom: The NoLib variant
it seems quite a few people are somehow getting the NoLib variant from their download client when they didn't specifically ask for it, instead of the full variant, and its causing issues as they don't have the required libraries installed separately. Please ensure you are downloading the full. if you see nolib in the filename then its the wrong variant, unless you are actually installing all of the required libraries separately as well. If you have to you can manually download the full variant from CurseForge, WoWInterface, or Wago.
:boom: Junk Sell getting blocked
While auto-destroy remains blocked, From 30960 onwards you can setup a Key Binding to manually sell and destroy your items. Note that blizzard require one keypress per item deletion, so if you have multiple items that need to be deleted you will need to press the Key Binding multiple times. A message will be output if you have remaining items that can still be deleted.
:warning: Ensure you have backup copies of your saved variables file
Sometimes you cannot revert back to a previous version without a backup, especially alpha or beta versions, so before upgrading please make sure you have made a backup of your saved variables file
Your saved variables file is normally located at ...\World of Warcraft\_client_\WTF\Account\yourwowaccountname\SavedVariables\ArkInventory.lua
It is your responsibility to ensure you have adequate backups of your saved variables file. You dont have to do them frequently, just after you've made major changes to your config is probably fine for most people, but you should get into the habit of making backups because when it does corrupt you wont have to reconfigure everything from scratch.
If you have your download client set to automatically download alpha/beta versions you should definitely have backups.
A simple way to back up the saved variables file is to just do a copy and paste then rename the new file (using the version number of ArkInventory or the date is a good idea), eg ArkInventory-30900.lua, or ArkInventory-20191228.lua
ArkInventory v2.00 [2007-JUN-17-20-45] (Beta) reports:
"Interface\AddOns\ArkInventory\ArkInventory.lua:6460: attempt to index field 'category' (a nil value)
Error occurs when WoW loads after character selection.
Also noticed that this ArkInventory version does not discriminate between Soulbound Equipment and Non-Soulbound Equipment.
When selecting "Rules" in ArkInventory, WoW crashes. This appears to be repeatable.

I've been trying this addon for about two weeks, keeping track of the updates, including the just-posted new beta.
I'm going to have to give this addon a thumbs down (for now). Occasionally, it gets in a mode such that when I open my bag, all tha bag slots are disabled and dark. They can't be clicked or moved or anything. The bag is basically locked. Logging and even restarting WoW doesn't seem to fix.
I use x-perl, metahud, fubar, bongos, etc, which are all very popular and useful addons. If one of these is perhaps the culprit, then perhaps you should try to coordinate with those mod developers and try to get to the bottom of this situation. As is, I can't continue to use this mod.
It's a shame because the idea and the overall design is fantastic. I WANT TO BELIEVE!!!
Well...it's a good thing that your thumbs down count for nothing. This addon is awesome and Arkayenro is doing a great job. The fact that there are lots of updates proves that he's doing great. Keep up the good work Arkayenro.
-D
Dunno if it's in the new beta because it doesn't work with the german verion, but do you plan to, or did you implement options, so that I can also sort for weapons, breast/shoulder/etc armor?
And one last thing, can you add a function that splits one part of the selected item into the bag; e.g. you shift rightclick a stack of gold ores and your addon separates one gold ore from the stack to a free bagslot. That would be cool for selling things in the ah.
Thx!
Well I have been having a problem with my bank bags, I get locked out and can't remove anything from them. Works on some of my toons but is slowly moving it's way down to the rest of them.
I have: 1. /Reloadui 2. Made sure i have newest file 3. I have log of and back on and still no good. 4. Turned it off till I see what the problem is.
Ok! Sorry. I find another way this problem. Now everything is god
God mod.. but cant recognice the spell reagent items, dont put in that 'REAGENT' slot. eg. Shiny Fish Scales -> shaman, or Light Feather -> mage, priest spell reagent
If you cant get stuff from bank you dont need to relog. Just click on something in your inventory so its put into bank, then you should be able to get the stuff out. Always works for me :)
and there is always the refresh button, works wonders :)
To Ark: Thank you very much for all your hard work on creating, maintaning, and updating this mod! Cheers to you my friend, I for one would be lost without AI. To Complainers: /agree (with Ark) To those with bank issues: I have had the issue where if i <toggle bank> from anywhere other than at the bank, when I go to the bank and open AI there, I am unable to take anything out! Simply log out then log back in...works every time for me! <Be good, be safe, have FUN!>>
[Quote: from now on you all either live with it, change mods (good luck as they all seem to be affected), use the workaround i added or don't bother complaining about it.
there is absolutely nothing i can do to stop it from happening. ]
/sob
Great to see an update, this is one of my essential addons. Thank you for the hard work on it :]
./cheer! my fav bag mod is back!:D
Mad-b-one: Yes I tried nr.1. And it didnt help. Sigh... :\
Logging in with another char helps. Switch back and it should work for the rest of the session.
To 1.) : Ever tried it? It does not help anything! The bug is not in the lua, so - as others do - I wait for a fix and delete it meanwhile.
Sollution for greyed out, unusable bags!
1.)Remove the lua variable from savedvariables 2.)Delete rows from layout-cache.txt related to arkinv location
That last one helped me really.
Question 1: Bank unusable. Anny sollutions? (greyed out or something).
Question 2: Any chance to make special categories that reflects bag 1, bag 2, bag 3? (then I could make 4bars and separate the items on them for all bags for instance)
Cheers
Goodbye... hate to say it but I've dropped this wonderful addon due to the continued issues it has with overlays, i.e. nothing in my inventory can be clicked on as there is a sometimes opaque and sometimes semi-opaque layer over the inventory.
I'm sincerely grateful to the mod author(s?) for this mod and hope that the overlay conflict can be addressed.
