ArkInventory
ArkInventory (for The War Within)
:boom: Please ensure you are using the latest alpha version if you have the War Within client.
ArkInventory (for Retail, Classic, and Cataclysm)
ArkInventory's display windows are built from "virtual bars", you assign categories to bars so that items in that category are displayed on the specific bars you want. There is no limit to the number of bars you can have inside a window but obviously you only have so much screen real estate before it becomes "too many".
ArkInventory uses several methods to assign a default category to an item such as what professions you have, tooltip scanning, basic type/subtype and PeriodicTable. You then assign those categories to a virtual bar.
You can also over-ride the default category by creating a rule that matches either a single or multiple items.
Overview:
- user configurable window width and height
- separate keybindings for each location for easy viewing
- assign items to a category of your choice (overrides the default assignment)
- assign categories to the bar of your choice
- unlimited number of bars (there are practical limits though before your screen becomes full)
- sort each bar differently if required
- user configurable bars per row
- sell junk items automatically or manually (delete available via a keybinding or right clicking when at a vendor)
- random pet and mount summons. can also assign a group of them to select from
Key Bindings:
- Press ESCAPE to bring up the blizzard menu
- click on Key Bindings
- scroll down to AddOns > ArkInventory
- bind the keys you want to use

:boom: The NoLib variant
it seems quite a few people are somehow getting the NoLib variant from their download client when they didn't specifically ask for it, instead of the full variant, and its causing issues as they don't have the required libraries installed separately. Please ensure you are downloading the full. if you see nolib in the filename then its the wrong variant, unless you are actually installing all of the required libraries separately as well. If you have to you can manually download the full variant from CurseForge, WoWInterface, or Wago.
:boom: Junk Sell getting blocked
While auto-destroy remains blocked, From 30960 onwards you can setup a Key Binding to manually sell and destroy your items. Note that blizzard require one keypress per item deletion, so if you have multiple items that need to be deleted you will need to press the Key Binding multiple times. A message will be output if you have remaining items that can still be deleted.
:warning: Ensure you have backup copies of your saved variables file
Sometimes you cannot revert back to a previous version without a backup, especially alpha or beta versions, so before upgrading please make sure you have made a backup of your saved variables file
Your saved variables file is normally located at ...\World of Warcraft\_client_\WTF\Account\yourwowaccountname\SavedVariables\ArkInventory.lua
It is your responsibility to ensure you have adequate backups of your saved variables file. You dont have to do them frequently, just after you've made major changes to your config is probably fine for most people, but you should get into the habit of making backups because when it does corrupt you wont have to reconfigure everything from scratch.
If you have your download client set to automatically download alpha/beta versions you should definitely have backups.
A simple way to back up the saved variables file is to just do a copy and paste then rename the new file (using the version number of ArkInventory or the date is a good idea), eg ArkInventory-30900.lua, or ArkInventory-20191228.lua
Hi Ark
I've seen you added the profile options in v 1.29. But the way you do it loses all possibility to place these default options.
I've added a v1.291 in the fans update where i changed it again and added to all of your dewdrop menu's the ability to close it in the dropdown menu itself. Kinda hated it when in edit mode and i right clicked the wrong one i did not have the option to close the dropdown.
Anyway my thanks for the update on the profiles.
Btw i understand you would rather maintain the code by myself, you assure it is well formatted in that way. Anyway whenever i got something i want to add in this huge and great mod, i will be posting it to the fans update project.
Kind regards
Az

There IS an option in the menus that reads as "Disable Blizzard Frames". This disables the DEFAULT bank and bag displays!
Started using this mod recently and really do like it (upgrading from MyInventory)
Anyways, couple of questions.
I still get my normal backpack open at the bank/mail etc, it does so automatically and I can't see a way to stop it, am I missing a setting or is it a bug?
Also, how do you go about replacing a bag for a larger one, for example Silk Pack for a Runecloth bag, I don't have bag buttons showing on screen and can't see any way to activate a view of the bags in the mod... Currently I have had to make the bag bar visiable and do it that way, a little awkward and happeneing a lot at the moment leveling a few new chars.
Great mod tho, keep up the good work.
"could you integrate your profile selecting fix to that also? It seems Ark hasn't yet done it."
have you *looked* at the menu? i added profile changing via the menu in 1.29 :) , i still left out the close option though.
"The problem is i can't get ark to listen to me"
lol, i do listen, i just have lots of other stuff to do thats not mod related.
right now i would rather maintain the code by myself, i'm still very active in WoW so it's not going to die in a hurry, also this way i know exactly what i've changed and where it's going.
i know some people want to help but right now i'd rather just take suggestions and add them in when i get the chance to if i like them or think others would as well.
This came from a private message to me:
> salleh wrote: > > but why you don't use my Arkinventory.lua, here it is updated. > > > Hi, I started to use it...Now it seems there's a new version of Arkinventory (which should fix the reopening of bank-problem), could you integrate your profile selecting fix to that also? It seems Ark hasn't yet done it.
The problem is i can't get ark to listen to me, i've tried anything send him private messages at this site and at wowace.com. He doesn't respond to my request to add the profile to the source or give me access. At the moment i have more updates for this project but without a willing partner there is nothing i can do
"The only complaint I have is that it does not replace the current bags or bank. (I am using Trinity Bars as well) Key binding it is a little annoying but something I can try to live with for now."
1.29 will let you hide both and has the ability to swap bags around and purchase new bank slots. use the options menu to hide the blizzard frames and unhide the AI bagchanger frame (when you need it).
1.30 will fix a bug it has with trinity bars - in the mean time you can just click on the backpack icon instead of a bag icon (previously did nothing under AI but will now be treated the same as clicking on the backpack), alternatively you can hide the trinity bar that has your bags on it and just the AI one
the keybindings shouldn't really need to be used as such, if you hide the blizzard frames then F12 (by default) will toggle AI instead of your backback.
I gave this mod a try and I absolutely love it. I love how customizable it is. It is a dream come true. The only complaint I have is that it does not replace the current bags or bank. (I am using Trinity Bars as well) Key binding it is a little annoying but something I can try to live with for now. I hope you implement this option in the futue.
"Anyone else having an issue with re-opening the bank after closing it?"
bug in 1.28, fixed in 1.29
"I'm using TrinityBars and the blizzard inventory opens when clicking on the bags, instead of the ark one..."
that's AI, it ignores bag open/toggle, just looks for backpack open/toggle so clicking on a bag won't work, clicking on the backpack will. i've changed 1.30 to treat the bags as if they were the backpack so AI will toggle if you click any of the 4 bags
You have to open keybindings menu and bind some keys to Arkinventory, I myself struggled too with this dilemma for a few minutes.
"Press ESCAPE to bring up the blizzard menu click on Key Bindings scroll down to ArkInventory bind the keys you want to use "
I'm using TrinityBars and the blizzard inventory opens when clicking on the bags, instead of the ark one... at merchants, bank, AH, etc... it's all ok. I don't know if the problem comes from arkInventory or from TrinityBars but I just submit this to your attention, because Trinity is also widely used.
Anyway, congratulations for this excellent mod !
Step away from the npc until the cursor turns grey, and retalk to the npc it should work
Anyone else having an issue with re-opening the bank after closing it? I cannot seem to get the npc to allow ANY interaction after first opening the bank, then closing it. /console reloadui is the only fix.
It is possible trough command line at the moment. Use my lua in the arkinventory Fans Update project, just replace the existing lua with this one. Go to ? button and there you will find under profile the option to change the default profile to a char specific one

This is what *Blizzard* should have made of the inventory system. Helps me keep my stuff organized! Though there's one thing I really would need, character specific settings. Please tell me if it's possible.
Added the arkinventory Fans update project, Added the lua file for download.

sorry, i didnt realise this site had messages :) i've replied to everyone who sent one
arkayenro,
Check your messages on this site please ;-)
ah, ok, i never moved the mouse when i split a stack.
the reason it's doing it is because every time you move the mouse over an item it puts that items original bag and slot number into a place where blizzards own code can see it, doing that mid stack split obviously causes problems. you'll have to, at a minimum, enter the split value before moving off the stack
i'll see if i can workaround it but it will probably mean recoding the entire way i work with items as the current way doesn't cause tainting (it relies on blizzards own buttons and their code to do everything an item button does)
According to me in version 1.27 there is a stack split bug like fision112 said in his post. Try using the stack split in the followin g way. Shift click on a stack and but the count to split to in the box but be sure to leave the mouse pointer standing on another stack and see how arkinv picks up another item !
Kind regards
