What is the enhancement in mind? How should it look and feel?
OK, I would like to see the ability to filter out redundant entries. By this I mean If I have a character on my friends list AND the player that owns that character in my RealID friends list, I would like the tooltip in the FU module (which should have been ported to LDB like a million years ago btw) to hide the character on the friends category and only show the RealID friend entry. Let me qualify below why you Should always have both the character AND the player in your list. But I would rather not see a HUGE tooltip when mousing over my auld lang syne in titan panel from bloated redundant entries.
Please provide any additional information below.
I had a friend recently get hacked. I knew they had been hacked because I was talking to them on vent and they said they were going to bed and logged off. About an hour later I saw this RealID friend log on on a completely different server on a toon named Rrrptmmtmt, obviously LOL a gold spammer name. They immediately Dropped me from REALID friends, I assume to stop me from tracking their movements across servers and unknown toons. Now I had all of my friends characters on my friends list as well as the Player on REALID friends. I was not able to see newly made toons obviously but I was able to watch the movement of the hacker across my friends known toons that were on my normal friends list. I was also able to contact GM's and get my friends account locked down within a matter of a cpl of hours in essence lessening the damage done. I would not have been able to to remember the toon names or track the movement of the hacker had I not also had all the known toons also on my normal friends list, (IE if I had deleted all the toons from friends list in favor of just simply having the RealID friend entry that can be severed at either end).
OH also please drop tablet and ADOPT LIBQTIP FFS that is all
:)
You know, bitching about the libraries the addon uses doesn't particularly incline me to take your ticket seriously. There's no significant difference between Tablet and LibQtip for end users. So I really don't understand why you care. FuBar is obsolete, but again FuBar2Broker translates it just fine. With zero difference to functionality for end users.
If you want to put the time into rewriting the addon to use different libraries have at it.
LOL, wow a bit thin skinned aren't we.
And there are quite significant differences for the end user, between tablet and Libqtip but you would know that had you actually looked into it, instead of making assumptions. And as far Fubar goes when something is obsolete you move on but anyway.
P.S. using LibQtip allows end users to actually (easily) change the tooltip ie background, color, scale, border, etc.. To allow you to make all your tooltips match each other instead of this plugins tooltip looking like this and that one like that and this one like that etc etc
P.S.S. Oh and btw saying "You know, bitching about the libraries the addon uses doesn't particularly incline me to take your ticket seriously." Saying you wont take a legitimate suggestion seriously because I "bitched" about the obsolete library's is more than a little immature. I think is commonly called "Cut off your nose to spite your face" logic. I am not going to listen to the good idea cause I don't like the mean man's tone of voice.
I'm not thin skinned, I didn't write the addon, so it's hard to be thin skinned about something that isn't my baby. I'm simply maintaining it. I don't have a ton of time to dedicate to it, since I've got many other things going, most of which are far more important that this addon.
You'd already opened a ticket on LibQTip. I'd already said that I intend to rewrite the addon at some point.
Additional commentary on something that has nothing to do with your request is unnecessary.
Generally you should make your tickets about a single subject and make them concise.
This ticket is anything but concise and your commentary about LibFuBar and LibQT have nothing to do with what you're asking.
You'll note that I didn't close your ticket. I just told you that your ticket writing skills suck and that it doesn't have a positive impact on your ticket.
As far as your comment about the tooltip look, I'd showed this ticket to Torhal who wrote LibQTip and even he didn't think there was a reason for users to care.
