What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Open the BossTactics frame (with whatever boss modules for it you have active).
2. Click the "+" button in the upper right of the frame, which should unlock the frame so it can be moved.
3. See the following in chat: BossTactics: The main frame is now movable. Click again on the button to fix it.. Then try to move the frame.
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expected: the frame to move when clicked & dragged.
Instead: the frame fails to move at all. No matter what key click combos are used with the mouse.
What version of the product are you using?
3.4.1
Do you have an error log of what happened?
No errors.
Please provide any additional information below.
It also fails to move when the following is shown in chat after clicking the button again: BossTactics: The main frame is now fixed. Don't have this problem with any other mod with movable frames am using here.
Hopefully this can be looked at/fixed; the mod's a lot more inconvenient to use with the unmovable frame. Didn't have this problem with earlier versions (3.2?).
Hi,
thanks for the ticket, I checkt it, and my window is moving. Maybe another addon is preventing BossTactics. please try to turn all other addons off and try it again. If the error persists, please tell me your addons list. maybe i get a clue what is wrong. another try can be to delete the BossTactics.lua in your saved variables folder.
best regards Sorontur
Already tested with no prior saved variables when the ticket was filed; that's not the issue.
Never heard of another mod "interfering" with frame movement. Unless an invisible frame of one is of a higher strata than the one you want to move. As BossTactic's frame is so huge, really would not expect this here.
But regardless, did a /framestack over various parts of BossTactic's frame, both with my normal mod load and on a test character with no other mods running. Mostly on the edges of the frame. Both tests came back with: BT_rightpanegroup, BT_GroupMainFrame and so on on the top of the stack (MEDIUM). Meaning no hidden frames were overlapping it.
So, further testing and finally found out the problem. Its a design issue.
When you initially open the frame the first time in a session, you can move it. But then load one of the dungeon modules that automatically resizes the frame to smaller than its default size (for example, BossTactics_Cata5Man). After you do that, the frame can no longer be moved at all. The problem in the ticket happens. And due to the frame retaining the last boss you brought up, it can't be moved until you either reload the UI or load one of the modules that resets the frame size to its default (for example, BossTacticsBWD).
Very odd design. Hopefully you can fix it so that it can still be moved after loading a dungeon module that resizes the BossTactics frame smaller.
