Broker_Portals

Table of Contents

Why would you have actionbars filled with portals, or open your spellbook everytime you cast a portal? Just right click on icon or minimap button and you can access all portals so comfortably.

It is designed as DataBroker plug-in, that lets you access all portal and teleport spells from one spot. Addon will be attached to minimap by default, but if you want to move/customize it, you will have to install additional addon like TitanPanel, HidingBar, or Bazooka and there are many more.

Features:

All mage portals, hearthstone and teleporting items available from simple dropdown menu
Minimap button, so you don't have to install any additional addon
Hearthstone location and cooldown in tooltip
Reagent count in tooltip (for Cataclusm Classic)
If hearthstone is on cooldown, Scroll of Recall will be used instead if possible
Can announce, that you're casting a portal

Localization:

If you'd like to add/update localizations, do so here. Then leave a comment on WowAce or on Curse as I'm checking those more often than localization app itself, and I'll repack it.

FAQ:

I managed to hide my minimap icon, how do I turn it on again?
- Just simply type "/portals".
Does it support teleportation items like engineering teleports or Kirin Tor rings?
- Yes.

Well, v1.8.11 still does this: always announces no matter what you set the option to.

The saved variables appear to be set correctly when you change the option from the tooltip dropdown menu. As in: ["announce"] = true,
and
["announce"] = false,

But the mod itself refuses/can't read it. Can't use the mod like this; back to what I was using before: FuBar_PortalFu...heh.

Hope you can fix it.

I certainly don't understand the 1.8.8:
- feature: don't show spells, that we don't have reagent for

Is it true? Or was it reverted? I'm running 1.8.9 now.

Hey CrazyBenny,

I really like your Addons, its pretty awesome & very handy.

But I would love to see a small addition for the Mage Portals - An Announce in Raid or Partychat like "Portal to Dalaran - Valley of Honor, Orgrimmar [51:66]"

Hi, I plan on adding an optional announcing support as quite a few people asked for it. It will be without the coordinates as for most people just your name in the chat is good enough to find you. Expect an update soon :)

Try http://www.wowace.com/addons/broker-portals/files/177-r115/, This should be working, since I think you added wrong translation of Rune of Portals. I compared it to wowhead and change the capital P to lowercase and I believe it should be working, if not please check the localization tool on wowace for correct names of Rune of portals and teleportation, since those have to be exactly the same as ingame item names.

That's fixed now, but I still have the following error message upon first mouseover. After that it doesn't reappear for the duration of my online session.

I'm aware of that. It's an issue with one library this addon is using. I've released new alpha vesion, that should fix it, but will release it as new version bit later, when that library gets fixed. Anyways, thanks for your patience and great feedback. I'm glad you can now have same user experience as others do with the addon :)

I checked it out on my dk, and Death Gate (Portón de la muerte in spanish) does appear on the list, and does interact with the mouse.

Thats great! Now there's only one spot, where it can fail (hopefully). Please tell me what "/dump UnitFactionGroup('player')" does give you?

It gave me the following:

Dump: value=UnitFactionGroup('player')
[1]="Alliance",
[2]="Alianza"

From what I can wager, you're attempting to identify the Spanish names for the the alliance and the horde, La Alianza being "The Alliance". "The Horde" is "La Horda".

Ok, The teleport spells show on my mage, but my portal spells do not. Also, localization works on the tooltip, but the plugin where it says "Portals" on your Titanpanel or w/e you use, still remains that when it's actually Portales. That of course is just me being nitpicky lol it's nothing dire, but getting the portal spells to show would be the most important thing right now.

That's good and bad aswell. I made one last change, so please try latest alpha http://www.wowace.com/addons/broker-portals/files/175-r113/. If the portals still arent visible, please tell me if "/dump findSpell(GetSpellInfo(11416))" returns you anything.

Ok, The portals STILL do not show. I used that slash command you gave me and got the following:

Dump: value=findSpell(GetSpellInfo(11416))
[1]=109
