Broker_Portals
Why would you have actionbars filled with portals, or open your spellbook everytime you cast a portal? Just right click on icon or minimap button and you can access all portals so comfortably.
It is designed as DataBroker plug-in, that lets you access all portal and teleport spells from one spot. Addon will be attached to minimap by default, but if you want to move/customize it, you will have to install additional addon like TitanPanel, HidingBar, or Bazooka and there are many more.
Features:
- All mage portals, hearthstone and teleporting items available from simple dropdown menu
- Minimap button, so you don't have to install any additional addon
- Hearthstone location and cooldown in tooltip
- Reagent count in tooltip (for Cataclusm Classic)
- If hearthstone is on cooldown, Scroll of Recall will be used instead if possible
- Can announce, that you're casting a portal
Localization:
If you'd like to add/update localizations, do so here. Then leave a comment on WowAce or on Curse as I'm checking those more often than localization app itself, and I'll repack it.
Bugs / Suggestions:
If you have encountered any problem, or if you think theres something missing. Feel free to post a ticket here.
FAQ:
- I managed to hide my minimap icon, how do I turn it on again?
- Just simply type "/portals".
- Does it support teleportation items like engineering teleports or Kirin Tor rings?
- Yes.
TODO:
Enable adding custom items/spells
Hello again!
As I can't seem to find what I'm looking for among the existing add-ons, do you think it would be possible to adapt Broker Portals so as to make a very simple drop-down menu from which to chose one of the many polymorph spells available? it could save some action bar slots...
Mulciber: I see, will be fixed in next release
Hi Benny!
There is a small glitch (at least with the French locale) in the drop-down menu, on the line where the add-on gives the hearthstone's destination the words Inn and (for example) Dalaran look like this: InnDalaran. Shall I just add a space after the word for Inn in the translation or would you rather add that space in the code?
One lazy request I have relates to using this mod with Titan Panel.
The "full name" in the mod lua is Broker_Portal, and I am forced to have that appear along with the icon.
Would love if you could either shorten the Full Name to something like "Portals" or code to allow only icon / name display.
I say lazy request, because at the moment I just update the lua with the shorter name, but with each update I need to remember to do that again. Additionally auto mod updaters like Curse detect that change and stop looking for updates.
Thanks in advance for considering this change request.
I don't use addons such as Titan or Fubar. I wanted something simple that was a complete standalone and wasn't a memory hog. This delivers.
I wanted to suggest a few "design" changes. (Thanks for adding the last ones I thought shiould be implimented, the Heart Cooldown and the Rune counts.)
1- Seperate the Teleports/Portals Rune count on the tooltip so they each have one line.
2- Seperate the Teleports and the Portals on the selection list so they dont appear to "mash" together.
Just suggestions .. hope you consider them.
Thanks for a great addon.
Oh well, time to find something that is more user friendly.
If you feel discriminated, feel free to extend this addon and release it with different name. I wont mind at all.
Don't you worry, Google was just used to check that Bereit would indeed be the correct translation for Ready as it was flagged for verification.
Mulciber: OK, I updated the addon for new translations. Btw. please do not touch other languages, that you cant test ingame! I really dont want any google translator stuff in the addon, so stick to your native language, or the language of your WoW client. Other than that, thanks for the french locale.
Checked German (thanks Google) and completed Spanish (thanks wowhead.com for item names) and a bit of Russian (wowhead again, for item names only as I've no clue to this language...).
Hi there, sorry it took a little while to react... translation's ready now.
So, where is our little Frenchy flag? ^^
All the best,
M.
