Ability to use map button to maximize/minimize (bring the map back to the size you set)

Possibly an option to integrate the map into the mini map so you can use Cart as your mini map instead.

I like the new version, but more as a substitute for the Zone Map (Shift-M) than the main map. I'd like to be able to use BOTH the old and new versions. The plugins for the old version are extremely useful, and I use them all the time.

My suggestion to you would be to somehow make this a reality - let people use both the old and new Cartographer by making the new one available as a substitute for the Zone Map as a configuration option. That's how I'm using it now, and the strata function allows this to work very nicely for me. The ability to resize it is awesome, further enhancing my use as a Zone Map replacement. Unfortunately, I then lose all the benefits and look/feel of Cartographer 2.0, which I think was extremely good (except I could never get the fishing addon to work)

Otherwise, I like it...it's just not full-featured enough yet for me to use in place of the main map. Please consider this request.
