ChocolateBar Broker Display

Table of Contents

ChocolateBar will create a bar on top or bottom of your screen where other addons called broker plugins can display stuff like your fps.

Main Features

Easy setup, install & go!
Multiple bars - top or bottom as many as you want.
Left, right and center alignment.
Support for icon colors and coordinates like used by TomTom.
Easy config, simply drag a plugin and drop points will show. The idea is to easily disable a plugin or toggle its text. See pics.
Load-on-demand options, and small memory footprint.
More Chocolate - a broker plugin to show a bar that will autohide again. Great for launchers or other plugins you don't need visible all the time:)

Options for:

Show bars on mouse over only.
Hide bars in combat.
Hide bars during a pet battle.
Set a fixed width for any plugin.
Change textures, font, colors and a lot more...

I had found an issue where I get an "this action has been blocked by the UI" error traced back to ChocolateBar. I was on my hunter. I had opened up the spellbook and was viewing the Pet tab. I attempted to turn off the autocast for Cower in the spellbook since I was about to do some soloing (Cower was not on the pet action bar). It was then I got the error to pop up. It explicitly mentioned ChocolateBar Display. I selected Disable and let the console reload. When I tried to turn off autocast from the spellbook, this time it was successful. Please advise.

This is completely broken for me right now. All my settings got reset on the last patch, and when I try to change the "profile", the entire addon blows up. I get an error and the entire bar disappears. I tried completely removing my chocolatebar savedvariables no no avail :(

ok I looked over the addon, I like it, I tried the Hide Tooltip check button thing and it isn't hiding the tooltip for the CPU stuff, the broker plugin, I just want it to display the screen info not the infor that shows when I hover over it, how do I disable the tooltips for it?

The disable tooltips option of ChocolateBar is for combat only. What you probably want is a simple broker plugin without a tooltip that shows the cpu info you want.

Is it possible to be able to change the colours of the tooltips? Or is that something handled somewhere else?

I opened a GM ticket tonight, and when i pressed submit, I got this error:

Since it happened when I opened a ticket, i would really suspect interaction with the Golden Ticket addon.

Golden Ticket is still using tooltiptext, this is no longer in the data spec thats why I missed the bug.

No sorry, would be bad cpu usage. Just blame the author of you data feed or use a different one.

I have a problem with tooltips from icons staying on screen after i mouse-out from them, if i do it "fast". If i just move the mouse in an arc over the bar, one random tooltip sometimes stays on screen.

It happens with alot of different ones, i'll try to check if i can make it happen for all of them, and give you a list. but its atleast 5-10 different ones.

Quick try for a few minutes shows atleast the following stay on screen when just moving the mouse fast over the bar back and forth and moving it out at random:

Broker_Location
Grid
Spellreminder
Several FuBar plugins via FuBar2Broker

...i did specificly try to get Broker Currency to stay on screen, but I fail to make it stick. Possibly this addon is doing something different than the others?

It would be nice if someone else could reproduce this and help with fault isolation.

Sorry to report, but I switched over to Button Bin instead, since I was unable to find help from someone else who could re-produce this problem.

I like this addon alot, but Button Bin was better for me.

never mind, thanks for trying.

Unfortunately I could not reproduce your problem with Broker_Location or the other addons. Maybe it was a problem with an other addon e.g. a tooltip addon.

would it be possible to add a font setting for color on each bar that overrides the plugin settings? The bottom bar I have set up looks like a rainbow and really doesn't need to.
