CowTip

Table of Contents

This project is abandoned and its default file will likely not work with the most recent version of World of Warcraft. Whether this project is out of date or its author has marked it as abandoned, this project is no longer maintained.

CowTip is a customizeable, tag-based tooltip addon. It is based on Rock and other libraries of the community. It is currently in beta.

CowTip isn't meant to be the smallest addon humanly possible, but it will be clean, configurable, and have the same polish I afford my other addons.

I have done the changes stated below both downloaded the 3 Libdogtag addons and chance the line local expand = (tex == [[Interface\Buttons\UI-PlusButton-UP]]

But i have this Problem that when i look at friends i get a vert long string explaining the 3 Spec diffrences and that make the tooltip fill alot of the screen... How do i get rid of this since i cant change it in config... When you click on + in the config window nothing happens. It dont expand as it should :-(

I´ve updated LibDogTag-3.0, LibDogTag-Unit-3.0 and it works like a charm again. Place them into \World of Warcraft\Interface\AddOns\CowTip\libs. All of them can be downloaded seperately.

To fix the config interface so it works, open the file:
CowTip\libs\LibRockConfig-1.0\LibRockConfig-1.0.lua

change the line:
local expand = (tex == [[Interface\Buttons\UI-PlusButton-Up]])
to:
local expand = (tex == [[Interface\Buttons\UI-PlusButton-UP]])

Well yeah, identical except "UP" and "Up" have different capitalization.. but apart from that.. yep, the same.

Has ckknight stopped writing code? If so, that's really sad. He made some of the best, including this one. Hope someone can pick up on this project.

The tooltips do work after updating this, however the configuration interface does not. Any ideas how to go about fixing this as well?

If you update to the new LibDogTag then CowTip will (mostly) work again.

R.I.P. CowTip. Would be nice for someone to pick this up but I will be using a different Tooltip addon in the meantime.

Seems like 4.0 finally broke this great addon. :( The player/npc/totem tooltips are filled with nonsense. I will be using StarTip (looks to be inspired by CowTip) and crossing my fingers for CowTip to get updated.
