DrDamage
Update 05/24/2013
DrDamage is currently being developed for 5.x. Only monks (of any spec) are not supported. All classes which existed prior to Mists are supported.
Current state: Check the http://www.wowace.com/addons/dr-damage/pages/known-issues Page before providing feedback!
DrDamage displays the calculated damage or healing of abilities with talents, gear and buffs included on your actionbar buttons. The addon also adds various statistics to the tooltips in your spellbook and on the actionbar.
Slash Commands:
/drd or /drdmg or /drdamage
Localization:

Functionality:
- Supports all classes
- Actionbar addons supported: Default, Bartender 4, CT_BarMod, Dominos, elvUI, Macaroon, Nurfed AB, IPopBar, nUI, ReAction Bars and RDX.
- Places text with the metric of your choosing on the actionbar buttons.
- Damage and healing statistics are placed into your tooltips. This includes for example critical hit chance, spell damage and damage coefficients, averages, DPS, DPSC (damage per seconds cast), damage until OOM and more!
- Your own buffs and your target's debuffs are taken into account.
- Allows manual modification of the essential talents, buffs and character stats used to calculate. For example you can test how much increasing your spellpower by 100 would increase your damage or healing output.
- If you're overwhelmed by the amount of statistics presented, you can use the options reduce the amount to whatever you feel is important!

Thirded -- I have only a few caster toons, and a mod like this would be wonderful to have, especially with my warrior. If I can at a glance judge how much damage I'm going to do (and thusly judge about how much threat I'll be adding to the meter), I can be twice as efficient, especially when in a new build or new gear.
All in all though, it's obviously up to you whether or not you'll make these additions. If you don't, would you consider sharing your code with someone who would be willing to make those additions, therefore sharing the workload? I'm not volunteering, I know all of maybe three lines of lua code; but it seems that someone might step up if they had your blessing, even if you weren't willing to do the job yourself.
Thanks much for your time and work, and for your consideration of our pleas!
v. 1.1.6
@djbbc and Nathan06
Nathan06 is correct. The default display is the spells calculated average damage with average crit effects included. So, obviously, if crit percentage does up, also will the spell's average damage.
1 fix needed for fire mages: Combustion increases crit chance by 10% per cast untill 3 crits are used. At this time the spell dmg number reads an increase in dmg for every combustion rank which is incorrect, Combustion should only effect the crit chance value inside the tooltip.
Nemezis.Icecrown
I'm asuming you have it set to do that, and are unaware... most likely on average dmg (including crit) or something. because I've seen it happen where I exchange gear and the actual damage will increase without any +dmg, just crit... which makes sense if its checking for average of all casts, it will incluide crits, and if you crit more often, it will increase your average.
This is something minor: Relentless Earthstorm Diamond was changed to affect all types of damage and the Crit damage reading doesn't change if you have one equipped.
@purabasura666:
Alright, I'd need you to run two commands for me and post me back the results. Have your mouse cursor over a button in the switched bar then do
/print GetMouseFocus():GetParent():GetName()
and
/print GetMouseFocus():GetName()
This will tell me what the button's global names are and what the bar is and I can investigate further.
@Gagorian
Yes, CTMod completely replaces the main action bar by another in the same exact position when a shadow priest uses shadow form, so you can drag different buttons if you want. For example, you can have healing spells on the action bar out of shadow form, and shadow spells in shadow form.
The same happens with rogues out and in of stealth and I suspect that also for warriors in different stances.
The small numbers indicating the average spell damage/healing shows up only in one of these bars, and dissapear when it is switched.
@johnpberry:
I revised the functionality a bit. Try 39155 from wowace (also the forced update option was missing an argument that hides buttons before updates resulting in what you experienced. It has also been fixed, thanks)
@Ghost
Crit/Hit/+Dmg needed for +1% total increase has been added to the latest wowace release, hopefully it suits your needs (seemed interesting enough so I added it)
Thank you very much, this is great :-)
Thanks for the +Crit/Hit/Dmg update!
Very useful.
@johnpberry
Added to latest wowace release, the options will now work with all addons.
@purabasura666
Hit rating issue was known and I've fixed it in the latest wowace release. Now physical type spells properly use melee hit rating from gear.
The shadow form barswitch, well, I'll have to look into it but it's hard to test without having a priest myself. Does the main actionbar switch or what?
@Ghost
Well, the ratio is kind of provided. On the +1% crit line of the tooltip the equivalence of +1% crit or (22.08 rating for level 70) is provided in +dmg. But I can see what you're asking for. I'll see if I can figure out a good way of doing it.
Gagorian,
I grabbed what I believe to be the most current release from wowace, listed as:
DrDamage-r39089.zip2007-Jun-08 12:41:36296.3K
The FuBar menu shows that the modifer updates are now general (no longer a reference to BT3), but I don't seem to be having any luck actually making them work.
After enabling the "update on modifer" options I reloaded my UI but am still unable to see an update. I can manually select update from the Dr. Damage FuBar menu and that does seem to have an effect. (I do this by holding shift to switch my action bar and then clicking the update option in the Dr. Damage Fubar menu.) I did notice, however, that where a damage spell exists in my standard button bar, but no such spell exists in the same position on the bar being displayed with the use of a modifier, the damage text from the original remains. For instance, on my main bar I have "Cone of Cold" in a button slot, but the same position with a shift-modifer applied holds "Ice Block." I would expect that the damage indicator would be cleared when I force an update while holding shift, but it remains over the Ice Block icon.
In any case, I'm still thoroughly enjoying this addon and would appreciate any assistance you may be able to lend in helping me sort my problem out. Thanks a million! :)
Gagorian, I don't think I can begin to thank you enough for this killer addon! It's exactly what I've been searching for and I'm thrilled to be using it.
BONGOS2 Modifer Key Updating
My only caveat with DrDamage is that I use Bongos2 with modifer keys (shift, ctrl, alt) to select spells. DrDamage doesn't update with those modifiers, though, so regardless of which modifer (and thus spell page) I'm using, the numbers from the base page are displayed. I noticed that you've included options for updating BT3 actionbars on these keys and am wondering if I can look forward to a similar feature for Bongos2?
Thank you again for your time and efforts. I'm sure by now you realize they aren't going unappreciated. :)
First, let me say that DrDamage is a fantastic addon. I love it! I just uploaded 1.1.5 and noticed a couple of problems.
PROBLEM WITH SHADOW PRIETS & CT_BARMOD ADDON
I also wanted to remark that when using shadow form, CT_BarMod switches the Action Bar, which allows players to have different action bars in and out of shadow form. The problem is that the spell damage averages are not showing in any of the buttons of the shadow form Action Bar.
PROBLEM WITH HIT RATING
The hit chance reported for any spells or abilities in my Paladin is 83% regardless of what I target, or whether the ability uses melee hit rating or spell hit rating.
ok got it working. was on standby sry
Hi Gagorian, this is a very helpful addon. I have a feature request I hope you will consider:
To optionally show on the tooltip how much +dmg and respectively how much +crit rating I would need to improve the total average damage of this spell by 1% would be fantastic. This information would be handy when choosing equipment/gems, as I can directly weight the stats of an item according to my spell and talent spec. Currently, I have to calculate the ratio between +dmg and +crit rating manually.
@Luskun
What class are you playing? Does the /drdmg or /drdamage console commands work? Have you enabled error messages after patch to be shown? (hidden after 2.1)
dr damage dont work for me. i tryed to run wow with only dr damage but still dont work. i dont have any error when i start the game or anything just dont work
