EQCompare

Table of Contents

This project is abandoned and its default file will likely not work with the most recent version of World of Warcraft. Whether this project is out of date or its author has marked it as abandoned, this project is no longer maintained.

Compare equipped inventory items against items in chatframe hyperlink and bags/bank.

For a constantly updated alternative try tekKompare.

The author of this addon has not updated it in over 2 years. Somebody else fixed the problem that was causing an error message but did not fix any of the other major problems with it.

The addon tekKompare works a lot better and has no problems at all. Plus the author of tekKompare actively maintains all of his addons.

The latest update was December 5th of 2008, last time I checked, the difference between Dec. 5th 2008 and Dec. 8th 2008 (the date of your post) was NOT 2 years

Did you even read my comment completely? I said the AUTHOR OF THE ADDON has not updated it in over 2 years. The update from December 2008 was just Ackis (not the author but just a Curse moderator, like me) bumping the TOC version. The addon is still extremely out of date.

there are 2 diff line codes with that in there do you delete both lines.
Also do you delete just that specific part or delete the whole line code.

Edit dont delete the 2nd line code tried it out and thats for the 2nd info window under the main window. So just delete the first line code works fine no more errors

Alright so that fix really doesnt fix anything if you use Auctioneer that is it takes the error away but when you close the window the 2nd window below the main window with all the info in it doesnt close also. Tired multiple things to resolve this and nothing. So I have found a version that is working with 3.0.2 and does the same thing link below

To remove the error that keeps showing in the chat screen when you compare a linked item (referenced below as a problem with 3.03) open the Eqcompare.lua and look for the following:

--[[ Custom tooltip OnHide codes ]]--

self.hooks[this].OnHide()
EQCompareTooltip1:Hide()
EQCompareTooltip2:Hide()
end

Delete the line "self.hooks[this].OnHide()" -> no more problems, mod seems to function without problems.

Fix:

Set a key for use with EQ, none/alt/ctrl/shift are choices. ie. Set alt key for when you mouseover a link. If you click a link in a chat window you will still get the error, but if you simply mouseover while holding the alt key (or whichever key you set) no error and you get the item compared displayed to what you have currently equiped.

On a side note it is Auctioneer Advanced which is causing the issues. Th eenhanced tooltip portion of auctioneer intercepts calls from other addons. I have tried the setting within enhanced tooltip to dispable this but no luck. I have disabled enhanced tooltip completly and no more error occurs with EQCompare, though by doing this Auctioneer is also disabled :{.

You could also just get the r64 build from WowACE. It works fine and error free.
