GatherMate2

Table of Contents

GatherMate2 is an addon to collect and track herbs, mines, fishing pools, gas clouds, archaelogy finds and treasures, and displays them on the world map and the mini map.

This is the Retail version of GatherMate2, the version for WoW Classic can be found here

GatherMate will remember the location of every herb you pick or every ore you mine, so that you can easily find the positions of the herbs and mines again. Once you come into range of a recorded spot, GatherMate will show an icon representing the type of herb/ore/fish/etc. on your mini map, directly allowing you to decide if its worth checking out. Additionally, all spots are shown on the World Map, to ease navigation to certain types of nodes and making gathering more fun.

To give you a head start, GatherMate2 also offers a pre-filled data module, so you don't need to discover all herbs and mines yourself, but instead can just start gathering right away. Simply install GatherMate2_Data and hit a few buttons to import all the provided data, and you're good to go.

Usage

Using GatherMate2 is straight-forward.
After the installation, GatherMate2 is automatically active and collecting data.

You can configure which data should be shown on the World Map or MiniMap in the Configuration Dialog, which can be accessed either via the /gathermate slash command or be found in the Interface options in the WoW Menu.

Localization (Translation of Nodes)

GatherMate2 relies on the node names to be translated in all languages WoW supports. You can contribute additional translations for your language here using the Localization tool:

Any translations submitted through that tool will be automatically included in the next release.

GatherMate2_Data

GatherMate2_Data has been updated with all fresh data from Wowhead, including support for Shadowlands, and will be continously updated throughout the coming expansion.

aaa hey thank you so much for your hint. i found that StatBlockCore uses thise ldb and there i found an option to disable the icons. =))

hmm, it's still importing everything for me in V1.0.1. The steps I do:
- delete herb brushes under database maintenance/cleanup database
- check to see that really no herbs are on the map of some old world zone
- import "wrath of the lich king" data with "expansion data only" enabled
- recheck the old world zone, and it's full of herbs :-(

GM2 is using circa three times as much memory as with just the wotlk-data I think, not dramatic enough to stop me from loving it, but still a bug ;-)

it should be fixed now. the import wasnt checking the flag properly for expansion only. I havent tagged a new release ill do that this weekend.

one question. after installing this addon i do have a link with an icon on my screen - klicking on it opens the settings. (the same type of icon + link i get from the addon bigbrother) ... is there any way to hide this icon?

i noticed that after installing auctionier + sidebar the icon is also in the sidebar but the link also remains in screen.

Sariash ill go check what going on with it importing everything instead of just expansion only settings.

Drkcloudz, that with the deafult map or using a map addon?

For some reason GatherMate2 is importing EVERYTHING from GatherMate2_Data, even if I set Expansion to "WotLK" and mark "expansion data only". The old GatherMate only imported WotLK Data with this settings (I really have no use for old world herb spots).

I have tried to change the size setting on gathermate and gathermate2 and i'm not able to, everything looks like tiny dots on my main map... Is there another way to fix this?

i can confirm part of this fix works. i did change all the .lua files to gathermate2. sexymap is showing the new wording in its interface and it is showing as marked to use. however, the nodes are not showing up with the HUD enabled.

and since the only reason im using gathermate/sexymap combo is for the HUD, gathermate is no longer useful to me :(

You may have "spelled" it wrong. Not sure how LUA works, but some coding is case sensitive so GatherMate2 would work, but gathermate2 would not.

So far, mining and herbs work. Can't see gas clouds not even after collection, but server shutdown before I could get a good look. Still have to test out for fish and treasures (if dwarfs can still do that)

Don't forget to also replace inside the "enUS.lua" located the localization folder. It fixed my probem, hope it helps.

I wrote out a step-by-step list of places to alter the .lua file here (didn't see it explicitly spelled out anywhere else) and it's working for me without any lua errors (bonus :) ). I've strictly changed the references that are required, leaving descriptions alone (as well as the hooks to the enable/disable control, since there's no need to rename it).

No promises, but it may be able to fix your issue, Funkybug.

Anyone find a working HUD mod that works with gathermate2? I was using sexymap, but with the move to gathermate2 it no longer works.

Try opening HudMap.lua from your SexyMap folder and replace all the GatherMate with GatherMate2. There are 2 errors that come up that deal with the description in the options, but it all seems functional so far. Only tried it with my herbalist so far.

Extract fixed and updated it now has the missing data.

Steam Clouds are bugged it seems they dont fire events like every other cloud does.

Ive fixed the GatherMAte2_Data extract for the missing zones. Im investigating barrens, to see why it isnt recording nodes there.

to juanekis: Are you running a non english client? Blizz decided to change all the german translations for mineral nodes, and noone has provided me with a list so i can update the localization data for german mineral nodes.

to Rob1003: ill go check steam clounds might be a typo.

Hi, thanks for working on this.
There is however one thing I've noticed. Steam Clouds won't display on either the mini-map or area map. Cinder Clouds will display and track ok though.
