Would be so amazing to have some sort of filter-presets buttons (like 10 small buttons or even more) aligned vertically to the left of the tradeskill frame or on top, somewhere. Basically what these buttons would do is to act as a preset-search buttons. Say you click on the "mini-button 1" (that you have assigned already a search filter) and then it only shows you say "Eternal Belt Buckle", without the need to manually write that text in the search field.

Having 4 diffeernt chars with crafting professions, it's quite annoying to have to manually write the same text everyday, on each of them.

For example,  on my BS I need to know how many belt buckles i can craft or what kind of mats for them i need to get from AH, that, before actually adding "30 belt buckles" to the queue. Similar with all the other professions aswell. Especially with JC it's a time consuming process that should simply be reduced to minimum with this feature being added to GW, for example, I search the AH on one of my AH chars (he only sells gems) and I do searches for Ametrine, Cardinal Ruby and so on (for all the epic gems - I use the "favorites search" in AuctionLite for this, which is a similar function than this one I ask for GW, just it's only for AH searches) then I make a list of what gems I need to craft, based on the AH prices. Thing is, when I switch to my JC to craft that list, I need to do all them searches for each of the epic gems category in GW, just that this time I have to write them searches manually in GW, like "ametri", "cardinal r", "dreadst" and so on, so that I can only see in the GW list the gems in that category.

For the feature to be efficient and time-saving, it would need to have (small) buttons somewhere, not a drop-down menu and obviously, to be able to have different "preset buttons" for each profession.

Looking forward to find out if this feature can be added to GW, as it would be such a time-saver.

this is actually something i have planned on for some time. the internals of the filtering mechanism are designed to be modular and "savable" so that you could indeed have presets. the only thing that doesn't fit this scheme currently is the text search, so there's some internal work to be done first.

so yeah, this is a possible feature. i say possible because another idea that i intend to implement is the concept of auto-groups. the idea being that you could save a search parameter (or set of parameters) to generate a recipe group layout. so you could, for example, have a group of prime glyphs that are profitable and usable by warlocks. rather than having to hand edit this list, it would be created by filtering so if you learn a new recipe or the dynamics of the market were to change, the group would respond accordingly.

simple searches could also be generated into groups. however, i get your point about the streamlined nature of hot buttons. since the auto-group feature would sort of be built ontop of the saved filter mechanics, i think "bookmarked" searches is probably something that will happen.

as i wrote in the comments on main page, the purpose of this feature (in order to be a complete feature and to save time) would be to be able to customize these buttons, similarly to how macro system works in wow, just a lot simpler and only related to tradeskills.

example: say there's a 10 buttons "tradeskills actionbar" somewhere on the GW window (exactly like the tradeskill buttons - bar is at the top-right of GW). then on the GW GUI, you do these steps: - chose to create button #1 on your custom bar, maybe chose an icon for it (or have it automatically chose the icon based on the item you link to that button) - you chose what the button should do; chose a pre-defined action, like craft one, craft all, queue one, queue all. we'll go for craft one for this - you chose what item in the tradeskill to craft; we chose "transmute cardinal ruby" for this

this way, for example, an alchemist will open GW once per day, click once on his predefined #1 button on his custom-bar and have his item crafted, without the need to manually search in whole tradeskill list, find his recipe and click craft one. it really simplifies whole process of crafting so much, especially when you're crafting only few items with each profession

in addition I would like GW to keep search field separate for every profession. if I write to cooking frame "salmon", I see no reason whatsoever why the salmon should filter my next blacksmithing plans...

yeah, i'll be keeping different search parameters per trade skill.  right now, tho, there's no way to save/restore my search parameters.  but it's def on the list.

Any update on this? I know you're busy getting the major functionality working - and it's really appreciated!!! Just wondered if this was any closer to reality....
