What is the nature of the defect?tried to craft Pet Bombling on my engineer (with r85), but it just wouldn't show in the queue the mats i miss to craft them. tried queuing 10, nothing. queued 1, again nothing. it dows say. had to downgrade to r81 to make it work and actually tell me which mats i need for crafting the queue. tried /reload, tried deleting saved variables, same thing. also note that i did had the mats to craft some (not all 10) big iron bombs.
What (if anything) triggers the defect? (happens when loading, when activating the mod, when clicking a particular button, etc)adding Pet Bombling to queue
Please post any error messages associated with the defect.no errors
this is working as intended, tho maybe the intention is misplaced.
the queue now looks for inventory at the auctionhouse before it tells you to purchase from it. this means, you should queue up your recipes and then scan the auction house to get an updated list of reagents. it should only take a few seconds to d/l the necessary items. it will then sort thru them and figure out what you should buy and what you should craft depending on price and availability.
if people hate this workflow (which is possible) then i'll add a toggle to turn off auction house inventory checking and simply have it tell you to buy reagents you lack whether they are available or not.
lemme know if you think this is not a good idea.
sounds good, but still needs a way to inform the player atleast that he needs to scan the AH for the missing mats to be seen. for example, in order to create my Pet Bomblings, i have to craft some Fused Wiring, which is crafted having Delicate Copper Wire as a component - this last one I can craft it on my JCer and would rather not buy it from AH for like 30x of its real price.
what i guess it would be less confusing is still listing at the "reagents" place in queue the missing mats, but with something similar to "will be looked at, from AH" and with the Scan AH button flashing out maybe
got a confusion here about this new functionality, tho -> what happens if i queue a recipe for which i already have all the mats in bank + my alt bags? would it still tell me to go to AH, even if i can't access the AH, but only a bank/mailbox? i mean, i have all the mats already somewhere, no need to buy it, just need GW to inform me that i have them somewhere and that i should go pick them up from alt/bank/guild bank in order to craft the item. no need to search the AH for something that i already have (or that can craft on alts)
if you have the reagents available, it will simply queue them up like normal. but if you don't and they're not in the most recent ah scan, it will identify them as missing.
by doing it this way, recipes for which there are no mats will automatically be skipped in favor of recipes that have mats available. gw will compare whether it's better to buy the crafted reagent or to buy the materials to craft it. when you get into reagents with multiple sources, gw will delve into the depths to figure out a cheap way to get your result based on what's actually available between you, your alts, and the ah.
if your jc'er actually has the mats for the delicate copper wire, then gw should tell you to get it from him. it doesn't go the extra step of telling you to buy the raw materials for alt crafters... tho i suppose it could.
i'll think of some way to make it clear you should scan the ah to find missing reagents.
Could you add a section to the reagents window that summarizes all the ingredients you need that Gnomeworks can't determine a source for? I often queue up a bunch of things, empty out the reagent window by visiting my bank, mailbox, alts, etc. and then wonder why I still can't craft everything in my queue.
I'd like to know what it is I'm missing, so I can either add it to an auction house favorites list, or ask people to trade it to me, or go farm it myself. But most of all, not knowing that there are missing reagents at all is frustrating, because I'll fill up a good portion of my bags with reagents that I'd rather have left where they were (bank, mailbox, etc) if I knew that I didn't actually have everything I needed to turn them into something and either put it to use, or put it on the auction house.
yeah, that is absolutely information that needs to be available.
also, i really want to quickly identify what will and won't be crafted with the current mats. right now you can queue up a bunch of stuff with loads of material requirements and not have a good sense of how many items will actually be executed and how many won't.
