GnomeWorks TradeSkill Frame -
a complete replacement for the blizzard trade skill frame.
I know this probably isn't the right place to post this, but I can't find anywhere else that I should. When I try to use a /ktq command to queue something, nothing gets put in queue. No error comes up, it just doesn't get queued. Any help, or at least a point in the right direction?
i would like to ask for another Plugin for Data Store Addon , namelly:
DataStore_Auctions
DataStore_Characters
DataStore_Containers
DataStore_Mails
Why?
I recently transfered my Main Scribe, from my Personal Market Guild, to a raiding Guild, and now im not able to fetch my old Guild Bank info into GW. This means i can no longer see exactly how many glyphs i have for a particular glyph under GW, making restocking a nightmare.
i also use Auctionner Glypher, and this one is fetching info from the above addons perfectly, on my main scribe, even being on diferent Guild, when i press get profitable, my main problem is that i can no longer control stock values, without having to mouse every glyph and check data store info, while using GW.
Also under Glypher while in conjuction with Data Store addon u can select alts names and alt guilds names to help the process as seen here , maybe a similar option would be better than a new puglin.
Making GW fetch Data from those addons, and add an additional inventory option like Alt Guild Bank, so i can once again check stock without having to go count glyph by glyph.
i would love to see this implemented in GW, and im very willing in testing it if u decide to try to implement it.
All the vendor conversions are set for Blackfallow Ink. What I mean by queue inventory is under the queue there is the list of items to make. ie if I am to make 800 glyphs I need to make x Ink of the Sea and x Shimmering Ink and x Jadefire Ink and x parchments etc.
Well, when I start to make the various inks it will say I need to make 234 Ethereal Ink along with say 134 Ink of the Sea. I go and get the herbs toi make those two inks, I then mill them and get the pigments. I start making the inks and as I make 1 Ethereal Ink the amount required for Inki of the Sea increments by 1 for each Ethereal Ink I make. So I make all the Ethereal Ink and I now have to heaps more Ink of the sea. I decide to just make what I can so I start making the Ink of the Sea and I find that as I make 1 Ethereal Ink is now added to the list (it went as I made all required) and that is going up by 1 for each Ink of the Sea I make.
Same think happens for other inks. I am not saying there is a relationship between Ethereal Ink and Ink of the Sea as the same happened for Midnight Ink as well.
Now I have to make 40 jadefire Ink. I also need to make 60 Midnight ink. As I am making the Jadefire Ink (40) by the end the Midnight ink requirement has risen from 60 to 100. Each Jadefire Ink added 1 to the list of Midnight Ink required.
The craftable column is all wrong as well. it shows I can make various inks with various numbers of them in yellow and blue but I have no pigments. eg is says I can craft 20 Darkflame Ink in yelloow. I select craft all and all I can make is 15
One feature i would simply love to have would be so that i could see the datastore inventory amount in the inventory column.
I use 2 accounts of which 1 is only for sitting in ah and i update back and forth with altoholics account sharing feature but when i want to create whatever (i have all professions maxed) it would be awesome if i could see what i already have in bags & auctions for the other account.
So i ask for you to please implement an option to add datastore info/amounts to the inventory column <3
ps. tried to stick "Altoholic:GetItemCount(itemId)" around your code but no luck :p
hmm.... you don't still happen to have vendor conversions for ink of the sea, do you? r110 should be smart enough to re-record the proper conversion when you visit the ink trader, but maybe that failed or something. that seems like the only way that ink of the sea would have any effect on other inks.
what do you mean by your "queue inventory"? what does the shopping list do when you this occurs? does it change and if it does, what section changes (ah, bank, vendor, etc)?
as I am making my 1000 glyphs here tonight using GW r110 I am noticing that my queue inventory is altering as I make ink. I need to make say 105 Ethereal Ink and I also need say 50 Ink of the Sea. As I am now making the Ethereal Ink as that number drops the number required for Ink of the Sea is rising at an equal amount to the Ethereal dropping. The same happened for other inks as well but I have not noted those here. Any ideas??
Ha - now as I made all the Wthereal Ink I am now makingh the Ink of the Sea ans the damn Ethereal Ink is going up by 1 as I make 1 Ink of the Sea...a never ending circle i think...:-)

hevreka, the problem you're experiencing is that gw doesn't "track" farming requirements. it uses the auction house inventory to determine what is available and it tries to only show you thing that are available rather than things that are not. you told it to use mageroyal and so it used all the mageroyal it could first. then it carried on down the list of other mills trying to fill your order. basically, when you select a different item source all you're doing is changing the order in which gw attempts to find the items. it's more of a preference than an explicit command.
i will be altering this behavior to allow people to turn off the auction house inventory considerations. this would mean that your preferred order will always be obliged regardless of whether gw thinks there is or isn't inventory at the ah.
i think this would also affect ink conversions.
bender, i've never had this happen to me, so it's difficult to know what the problem is. i suspect that the trade skill scanning code includes api calls that simply take a long time on occasion (which is pretty unusual for the blizzard api). how long have you waited before terminating your wow process? does it die immediately? or does it slowly choke first? i have some debug info that prints when the tradeskill scan takes more than a tenth of a second, but it requires that the scan actually finish in order to print... there are a couple problems like this that seem to plague other people but i have been completely unable to reproduce. have you tried running gw by itself to see if it does the same thing or is it something that only happens occasionally?
Everytime I have GW on and I press the button to open First Aid, my WoW completely freezes up and I have to use Task Manager to cancel the program. I am probably gonna have to stop using this addon til that is fixed. I will wait a week before i post in other forums.
I do seem to run in to something odd when i want to change Source of pigment
For example i have put up 1000 of the normal Inks Not Rare and for midnight Ink it say i should mill stranglekelp I dont want that.
I want Mageroyal but it Wont Switch from stranglekelp it is still in the list.
(Reason for mageroyl is my herb picker is druid and i dont want to swim (take to long) and flying with lvl 85 is quicker ) so lilsparky is there a way to tell GW to use the herb i want and remove the other herb for that ink ??
And will there be a possibility to turn off Vendor Conversion for inks ??
paws, how many items did you scan that it took so long that you didn't let it finish? and how long did you wait? i just filled my queue with a boatload of jewelcrafting and enchanting recipes and then scanned the ah. in total there were 75 or so reagents. it took about 45 seconds to collect the data. does that jibe with your experience?
lsw updates when it's told by auctioneer (or auctionator) that there's new data. the good news is that lsw is pretty lightweight in terms of processing and the update doesn't prevent any other activities from occurring. i think if the progress bar didn't show up, you wouldn't even know it was doing anything.
and don't worry, i don't take critiques very personally.
hades, yeah, i suppose it would make sense to not bother scanning for items you don't need. right now the queue just feeds the scanner all reagents related to the recipes in the queue. but you're right, if you don't need any, why scan for em? but i'm again a bit concerned about your statement that it takes ages to scan. a single item scan should be under a second.
i'll look into the sorting issue. the way it's supposed to work is that the most recent sort should leave the order of the previous sort for any tie. so like if you sort by item cost, then sort by difficulty, it would leave items with the same difficulty sorted by item cost. it's not doing that, tho. not sure why.
asesine, you could try deleting your sv file, but i was asking more to ensure that you don't delete it frequently since gw uses it to "learn" as it collects info. don't bother with a ticket. there are already a few tickets regarding inventory woes. it's something i'm working on all the time so stuff gets fixed and then broken as i shift things around.
I don't think that AH integration is very important. For me, it would be sufficient to have an AH shopping list and use the AH addon of my choice buy purchase the items.
With the current solution, I have never completed a scan because it takes too long.
Something else that is slightly annoying is that when the GW window is open while I purchase stuff in the AH, LSW updates it's prices after every single purchase. Often I have to buy dozens of auctions, and while the price update doesn't take long, it adds up with that many transactions.
BTW, with all that negative feedback I don't want to create the impression that GW is a bad addon in any way, I think it's bound to be the best crafting window there is.
I'd just like to say that I really like this addon. I've switched to it from ATSW and it's amazing.
Couple of glitches I noticed...
The AH Scanning seems to scan all items in the recipe, including the ones I already have... could it only scan for the ones I actually still don't have cos it takes ages?
In the list of recepies, when I sort by skill chance, any that are the same % get sorted randomly... could it sort those with the same % by required skill level instead? Just makes it easier finding items that have just gone grey ;)
"is it just a particular type of item not showing up or is it all items? when was the last time you deleted your gw sv file? deleting this file causes gw to have to "re-seed" the tracked item list which could create some lag into the tracking system."
Specifically Sparky, none of the glyphs being held in the bags of my 3 alts are being displayed. They used to and I wish I remember which "rev" it was because i'd go back to that one in a heart beat. I have never actually deleted the gw sv file. Is this something I should try and report back?
"do you get any items in the alt column if you view an alt from a different toon? that is, log in as toon X then view toon Y's tradeskills. does toon X have items that don't show up in the inventory column for toon Y?"
This does not show anything. I logged into my JC/Enchanter to view my Scribe recipes list and no inventory was being displayed.
Let me know if you'd like to me make a ticket out of this or not Sparky - I can capture pictures as well if it helps.
i think holding control while opening a tradeskill will bypass gw. it used to be in there, but i'm not sure it still is.
i'll look into the create button problem.
and yeah, the trainable recipes are confusing. you can filter them out if you filter by difficulty. this was implemented as an experiment and while it kinda works, the intention is to have the trainable stuff activated in some manner rather than just always thrown into the mix.
paws, i've been asked about ia before. i'll look into where that went. my recollection was that the ia author had implemented lsw support on his end, but maybe i'm totally misremembering it.
i'm going to have gw record personal auctions, but i need to revamp the inventory system to facilitate the ability to turn on/off different tracking.
poreo, i complete disengagement from the auction system is possible, i suppose.
Is there a way to disable Gnomeworks temporarily without restarting? I've run into a bug that I can't get around (these periodically come up) and I want a way to do a quick workaround without all the logging in and out. Would like a way to open the default profession frame.
There seems to be a bug when you learn a new recipe where it prevents you from using the 'create' button until you've logged out and back in. I've tried this with the GW window open or closed when I learn the recipe and get the same result. Queue still works but create does not.
Also, there is a UI design issue I found which caused a lot of confusion. Recipes which I have not learned yet - but which I have the skill to use - are showing up in my list when I use a Flat display sorted by Skill Up. There needs to be a much clearer indicator that I don't yet own the recipe.
For scribes, to me the best solution to determine the price of crafting glyphs is ItemAuditor.
I never buy inks or pigments and I keep a big stockpile of them so that I can afford to buy herbs only when the price is low.
ItemAuditor tells me what I actually spent per item to craft the inks in my inventory.
So I think it would be nice to have optional IA support for certain items such as inks. IA data would be relevant when basing crafting cost on the buying price is selected and not for resale value.
I have customized my LSW to do this and it works very well.
I also changed my GnomeWorks to query the number of finished products from Altoholic, as GW apparently at the moments only works for the active character and Altoholic even includes items that are up for auction, which is important information.
i am debating an option to turn off the auction house inventory consideration so that you can say "Mill Peacebloom" and it'll tell you to buy whatever Peaceblooms you still need if they aren't actually available.
I'd support the option. I'm really excited about where the AH integration seems to be going. However, I also like the ability to take over control. Part of that is trusting (or not) automatic tools and being able to step in when I think the tool isn't working right or knowing that it hasn't considered some grander scheme. But also I'm a big believer in stringing together my own collection of tools to perform a task.
I think that's why I'm not using the current r100 build series. The AH integration and parts picking is currently more of an annoyance for me than the warts of r83. I'd likely be using r110 today if I could reliably say "Hey - don't consider AH data" or, better yet, "don't worry about the crafting solution beyond how many pigments I need" (which should be possible to do, but I find that trying to do this is rather unreliable - maybe I can get some debug data to help figure out why).
I find myself wondering if I'd be so keen for this manual over-ride if I could never fault GW's choices. But I suspect there will always be some scenario where someone has a "better" strategy and wants the option or a GW release introduces an annoying bug that'll be less annoying if we can grab the wheel and do our own steering until the next release.
Would it be possible to remove AH intergration ? I already have so many Auctioneer / Market Watcher tabs at the bottom of the AH panel. I looked around the LUA files hoping to fine a true/false to AH integration but I couldnt
-> DRASHNAR
I use KTQ as well. This is my macro and all seems fine
/ktq ENABLE SkipSingles
/ktq enable threshold
/ktq set threshold 25g
/ktq queue 4 glyphs
obviously you can set the threshold etc to whate3ver.
