What version of Grid2 and game type (classic or retail) are you using ?
2.0.43-bcc, Classic TBC
What game client version (windows or mac) and language are you using ?
Windows, English
What steps will reproduce the problem?
When in combat in raid or party, with pets enabled in the layout, when a pet dies its frame in the grid turns solid black. It stays this way even once combat ends, and stays this way even if the pet is revived, in or out of combat. This refreshes back to normal if you change the layout. However, changing the layout also causes some icon indicators to disappear, such as the role, leader, raid-assistant and raid-icon-player statuses, until you either disable and re-enable the statuses, or /reloadui
Did you try having Grid2 as the only enabled addon and everything else disabled?
No.
Was it working in a previous version? If yes, which was the last good one?
Seems to have always been this way in classic tbc, don't remember if it was happening in classic vanilla, don't recall this happening in retail, back when.
Do you have an error log of what happened? If you don't see any errors, make sure that error reporting is enabled (`/console scriptErrors 1`) or install [BugSack](https://mods.curse.com/addons/wow/BugSack).
There is no lua error.
Please provide any additional information below.
Doing a /reloadui also fixes it, but this is inconvenient.
I was about to make a separate ticket but I think my problem is the same issue you are having.
Whenever a pet dies or is re-summoned in combat (for example when a hunter uses steam tonk to dismiss pet and calls it again), the petframe never updates again. It stays either faded or something like "raidpet1" as seen here: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1513675308?t=1h6m33s - petframe is to left, I am still able to target the pet with the raidpet1 frame and it targets the correct pet, but the frame won't update until I do a /reload.
I use petframes with a detached header. With some limited testing it seems like this issue does not happen if you disable the detached header, but I can't say for certain.

This isn't a new issue from some update, I think it's been a bug since TBC version released.
Confirmed that the issue only appears with detached header. Ran a raid with 5 normal groups and pet group without detached header, and it correctly showed pets after a steam tonk resummon, and even populated petframes with void spawns on muru. Which it hadn't done with detached header enabled.
Detached header, void spawns only populate petframes when combat drops (pet frames left of raidframes): https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1513675308?t=1h47m44sNot using detached header, void spawns populate petframes instantly (petframe top of raidframes): https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1518675421?t=2h32m12s
