I would love for there to be a sort by range option for the raidframes (melee/ranged). Why do i want this? This would be nice for discipline priest, where you want to use radiance on melee that dont have atonement preferably so it spreads, this can be quite difficult to find manually on your frames. I would like to sort my raidframes like this: Tanks -> Ranged -> Melee which does not seem to be possible right now.

Not possible in Grid2, the game code that manages the sorting of the units frames does not support that.
