I want to hide groups 5-8 but after searching for HOURS I was not able to figure it out. So, is there really no solution to hide groups?
By default grid2 already hides groups according to the instance / rad size. For example if you enter in a 20 man instance, groups 5-8 are hidden.
Maybe this behaviour has been changed in your profile so to reenable this behaviour simply go to:
"General / Layouts"
And uncheck the "Display all groups" option.
But if you want to hide 5-8 groups forever even in world zones, you have to create a Custom layout using the layout editor, so goto:
1. General/Layouts/Editor
2. Create a new layout
3. Click on the "+" tab 3 times to add 3 extra groups/tabs
4. You will get players(1), players(2), player(3) & players(4) tabs,
5. On each tab you have to setup the groups settings unclicking undesired groups, so for players(1) tab only group 1 should be displayed, for players(2) only group 2, etc.
5. Then goto "General/Layouts/By Group type" tab
6. And select the new created layout in the Raid option.
Thank you, awesome! For context: I want this because SOD raids are 20 people but AV raid are 40 people. While I do have a separate profile for the latter, it is kinda hard to configure the former properly when it's showing all 8 groups (more context: I'm configuring it within AV with real people + buffs/debuffs, but this gets reeally hard due to the 40 people).
Then unchecking the "Display all groups" option should be enough to get the desired behavior.
If the extra groups are not hidden in some specific content, report back in which content is not working, some times the game reports a wrong raid/instance size for some content, in this case i have to code a specific rule for some instances, ignoring the instance size reported by the game.
