What version of Grid2  are you using (Version is displayed in General/About Tab) ? Grid2-2.8.53 

What game client version, classic or retail, windows or mac and language are you using ? retail english

What steps will reproduce the problem? there is no direct problem,the titel says it all.

  
Did you try having Grid2 as the only enabled addon and everything else disabled? yes

Was it working in a previous version? If yes, which was the last good one? no idea

Do you have an error log of what happened? If you don't see any errors, make sure that error reporting is enabled (`/console scriptErrors 1`) or install [BugSack](https://mods.curse.com/addons/wow/BugSack).

 Is it possible to fade out raid frames that is out of range but still keep the fade in on the names fully?

Not possible.

Update:

In version 2.8.56-beta I added an optional setting  in alpha indicator to configure which indicator must be fade out (by default the whole unit frame is fade out).

So now if the health bar o multibar indicator is selected,  only this part of the unit frame will become transparent. But this option only affect to the bar indicator slected, if you want a fully transparent frame, you must configure a transparent color in the background indicator.
