What steps will reproduce the problem?1. Install Grid22. Turn it off for a 5 man or 10 man or whatever.3. Do an instance.
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?Having Grid2 installed, even if turned off for a party, keeps the blizzard default aggro warning on. Turning it off in options, it still occurs during fights.
What version of the product are you using?r287
Do you have an error log of what happened? There is no error.
Please provide any additional information below.
This Interface option has no effect for Grid2, which has it's own way of configuring the aggro warning.
This is not a bug is the sense that modifying this default Interface option should not affect Grid2 at all.
Well, I will disagree with your assessment. I had the problem only after installing Grid 2, and when I removed it, the problem ceased.
Then I do not understand what your problem is.
I thought that the problem was that somehow you thought that turning off the "display aggro" option in the default interface panel was going to turn off Grid2's aggro display.
Please try to be as explicit as possible about your issue.
No, that isn't it either.
I'll try to explain this better.
The game has a built-in threat/aggro warning system. And something in Grid2 is making it stay on, even though I have it turned off in game.
Specifically, I use Grid (or Grid2) just for raid frames, so I have the solo and party frames set to not show. I installed Grid2 and set up the raid frames. Then I was in a heroic dungeon party when I kept getting the in-game aggro warnings (not Grid2's aggro warning). Even though in the settings I had the game's threat/aggro feature set to "never," I was receiving these warnings. Disabling Grid2 stopped the in-game aggro warnings. Using regular Grid also prevented the in-game aggro warnings. I was only having this problem with Grid2 being used, even if I wasn't using any of the frames at the time.
Does that make any sense?
The alerts options work to the point now that you can disable the sound (set to None), and turn the message off.
I do not play with the default ui so please detail what this aggro is that cannot be disabled? A status text? A sound? Nothing shows up for me besides sounds I get mods to make or combat text via the blizzard ui.
I don't play with the default UI either.
There is an ingame option under Interface Options > Display called "Display Aggro Warning" and a couple of checkboxes for threat displays and sounds for aggro. I have those unchecked and the aggro warning set to "never," yet I was getting the aggro warning as if it was turned on.
When I had Grid 2 installed (and turned off for five man instances as in, no frames for 5 mans) I would get the aggro warning and display, even though I had them set to never show or do anything. Removing Grid 2 fixed this problem for me.
I have not used Grid 2 since, so if you'd like me to test it, I will need to reinstall and reconfigure.
If you could that would be great.
I just did a 5 man with Grid2 installed and it seems the problem fixed itself. Aggro alert from Blizzard did not go off despite being turned off, so I guess this issue is fixed.
I used the latest alpha version of Grid2 by the way, r448.
