like the title is saying, i am happy with grid as long as i am doing 5 man groups, but in raids i have to disable it and use the default blizzard frames at the moment, because i cant get it to show me groups 2-8. (switched layouts etc.)

Working fine here, which layout are  you using for raids, any LUA error, did you try to disable all addons except Grid2 ? 

This is exactly what my Grid2 is doing as well, using r916 - classic, and no I did not disable all my other addons.

I found it with the help of someone else

General > Layouts > Editor > Display all Groups.

Can you post the name of the raid instances where this issue is happening  ?

Maybe the issue arises  when a raid is entering in a 5 man instance? In this case grid2 by default  is doing the correct thing, displaying only the first group and the first poster was providing wrong information (the issue does not happen: "every time I form a raid group") 

Pd: Disabling all others addons is a step in the debug process to check if some other addon or plug-in causes the issue, it's OK if you don't want to help in the debug process, but I'm not a soothsayer I cannot always realize what is happening with minimal or wrong information. 

For the record, I just got this issue entering UBRS, the instance was considered a 5-man instance and I had to check the "Display all Groups" checkbox.
