 Ever since the patch I've come across an issue where every other time I reload UI or enter an instance all my Grid2 frames turn black minus the mana bar. Icons will continue to be tracked and appear as expected but the frame itself and any associated text will be obscured by black. An additional reload fixes it, but it's pretty annoying having to reload every time I enter a dungeon/raid.

Check out the framelevels in your indicators, probably some indicator with the same framelevel is covering the health bar.

I found the culprit. After disabling all addons except Grid2 and its plugins, it was the Grid2StatusAbsorbs that was causing it. Upon closer inspection, when reloading reproduces the issue, I noticed the health / health-deficit / text indicators all unload their values, which is why the frames are black. I'm not savvy enough with LUA to troubleshoot the plugin source code though, so I guess I'll have to hope the author is still active

You can use the built-in "shields" and "shields-overflow" statuses to display the absorbs information.
