Can't interact with pets #986

    What version of Grid2 and game type (classic or retail) are you using ?

    - Grid (2.0.14-bcc) for Burning Crusade Classic (2.5.1).

     

    What game client version (windows or mac) and language are you using ?

    - Windows 10, French.

     

    What steps will reproduce the problem?

    - I'm using the pet window (in detached mode), when a pet dies and get revived I can't interact with it's box anymore like it's not there, it keep tracking it's life and buffs but stop tracking the incoming heals, seems to only affect pets 2 to 5. Doing a /reload fix the issue until it happens again.


    Did you try having Grid2 as the only enabled addon and everything else disabled?

     - No I didn't, I'm using HealCommClassic, may be related.

     

    Was it working in a previous version? If yes, which was the last good one?

     - No idea, I only started using the pet window in this version of Grid.

     

    Do you have an error log of what happened? If you don't see any errors, make sure that error reporting is enabled (`/console scriptErrors 1`) or install [BugSack](https://mods.curse.com/addons/wow/BugSack).

    - I'm not seeing any particular errors that could be related to it.

     

    Please provide any additional information below.

    Check that "Use Blizzard Unit Frames" option (In Layouts tab) is enabled.

    Working fine here, disable other add-ons/plugins.

    Which layout are you using ?

    I'm using "Group w/Pets" (with detached pet group) and 4 different themes, one for 5man, 10, 25, 40.
    I will mess around with my addons and come back to you if i find anything.

    Same issue here. Pet group detached. Seems to happen when pets are summoned or resurrected.

    Can confirm the issue. Reloading or detaching/re-attaching the pet groups fixes the issue (until it happens again)

    Small update: Still having the same issues and I noticed in Karazhan I couldn't interact with any player during the Chess game boss.

    Still occurring in latest update. Can't run pets linked with groups due to it taking too much room. Any fix in the works?

    Detaching the pets should be irrelevant so the issue should happen even with the pets linked to the groups.

    Anyway i cannot reproduce this issue, but i know the game has some bugs related to pets, so pets frames stopping working can happen even in the default blizzard raid frames.

    Same issue here. Pet group detached. Seems to happen when pets are resurrected.

    Ok thanks for the information michael. I personally need to do further testing to see if its an addon other than grid2 causing this interaction. Its interesting to me that you can't seem to reproduce this as its quite common on my end when playing with a group. This is leading me to believe its an addon interaction. I will try to get back about what I can find out.

     

    I wonder if this is happening on default raid frames. I will ask around

    I only get this behavior with pet groups detached and whenever the pet is resurrected/summoned. Reloading helps. I was never able to get the default blizzard frames bug out the same way.

     

    Edit: I also tried to add some debugging print statements in the code but I couldn't really figure it out. I found it strange that the frame's OnEnter/OnLeave never triggers when the frame is clearly there.
