Grim Reaper

Your tank died? Why? That's the question really.

Grim Reaper gives you a very quick and easy access to the relevant combat log of any raid member with just a flick of the mouse or the press of a key. It will also monitor raid member health levels for the duration of combat log data and will show the health of any unit alongside their concise combat log display.

Using

There are several ways to use Grim Reaper.

My personal favorite is to leave it hidden most of the time and use the hotkey activator. If you go into Blizzard key bindings and scroll down to Grim Reaper and setup a key for the Quick View function (I use F10), then whenever I need the reaper window I hold the quick view button, mouseover to who I'm interested in and release the quick view key. This locks the view onto that player and you can scroll around and do your investigating. When you're done with it, simply press the quick view key again and Grim Reaper hides itself once more.
Others will prefer to setup a keybind to lock the reaper on a target and leave it open all the time, perhaps watching their main tank.
Some people prefer to dock Grim Reaper onto the tooltip, but this offers reduced functionality as the display is non-interactive in this mode, but it does offer a quick and simple view.

I posted a "fan fix" over on WoWInterface, although I actually wanted to commit to the repository, but I don't know how to commit to another's repository ..

This addon was broken by 4.1 because Blizzard added a new parameter to the combat log. There is a fan update available (see ticket 19) but no update by the author.

The fan update for 4.1 will break again in 4.2 because Blizzard is adding two more parameters to the combat log.

Zeksie,

If you are no longer interested in maintaining this addon, you should ask for volunteers willing to take over.

The above doesn't "fix" it as much as just lets it load. It doesn't tell me anything except the last thing I had happen to me, which isn't exactly useful all the time. And if I try to check someone else, it doesn't tell me anything. Anyone got a REAL fix for this thing? I'm all out of ideas since I don't even get error messages now.

Yes, sorry. Haven't had enough time to look into it properly and just tested it on myself. At least it works on other persons for me as long as i have Grim Reaper opened from the start but it doesn't log anyone else.

I've never gotten GrimReaper to work since I started trying it 4.0.6 a week or so ago. I get the icon in Norganna's Slidebar, but clicking it gives this error. /grim and /grimreaper are not recognized commands. I originally thought this was because I was using an addon with the Ace2 library, but after removing it this error still occurs every time.

I LOVE Grim Reaper!

I've been using it since Burning Crusade when it still was in X-Perl and it never, totally, ever left my WoW folder again (n_n)

Need come back command /grim hide , /grim show just show tooltip with stats. /grim - main options frame.

Hi, Personnaly had to add Libs\AceGUI-3.0-SharedMediaWidgets\widget.xml in GrimReaper.toc... for the add on to work... Got error on GrimReaper.lua:595 if not

It's now working perfectly fine

Yeah, you need to drop Dewdrop-2.0 to completely get away from Ace2.

LDB and keybindings work fine for me in r89. It's just the minimap icon that is gone.

Yeah I tried the Lib and the nolib of the r88 and r89. No joy on getting Grim Reaper window to display. I use bazooka for LDB and it does not see it. The three key-binding options do appear, tried setting and using, they do nothing. Tried numerous / commands to bring up anything and nada. Love this addon, but it is currently non-functional.

No minimap icon to toggle it on/off in the new version? Not showing up for me, anyway.

Is it supposed to be LDB-only now?

Ooh, what a handy AddOn! I love it, thanks for the work Zeksie.

I do seem to be having a problem with the keybinding though. Clicking on the LDB feed toggles the display open and closed, but no matter what key I bind the 'Quick View' to in the keybindings, I can't get the window to toggle - wondering if anyone else is experiencing this, or if it's a conflict with another AddOn I'm using?

The current version seems to mostly work, so won't spend a lot of time adjusting that.

Porting it to Ace3 atm so there'll be some worthwhile updates when that's done.

Still a brilliant addon! And still working for client 4.0.1 at least for me. I wish someone could continue development/maintenance... :)
