HandyNotes

Table of Contents

Handy Notes for your maps. This addon is intended to be a small and simple framework for showing notes on your map.

Use /handynotes to access options.

You can add notes to the maps in 3 ways:

Alt-RightClick on the world map to add a note.
Use "/hnnew" without the quotes to add a note at your current location.
Use "/hnnew x,y" without the quotes to add a note at location x,y on your current zone's map.

when i alt-right click on a map (in The Exodar for example) the handynotes interface pops up *under* the map .... not so useful.

Seems to be working nice side by side w/ cartographer and cartographer notes. Prefer some of the cartographer notes features but wanted the flight master info, ty for your work.

HandyNotes cant make note in addon 'InstanceMaps'

It work normally, open map, then select instance by zone. When in instance open map show directly instance map. Gooooooood :)

Now, just find how i make Handynotes for instance map,
"Alt+right click" add notes manual notes under mouse pointer. OK it normal
in instance, it zoom out. It bad.

As i can find, when i try /hnnew x y Title, i receive:
"HandyNotes cannot create a note here as it is unable to obtain
your current location. Usually this is because there is no map
for the zone you are in."

Now i try look HandyNotes for more info (and copy this message to)

In future option can be useful: draw line for show way in instance like Black Rock Mountain or mob path.

I just retry with '/hnnew x y' in instance it show error, outside it add note to map of zone your standing not the instance are show

is this able to import notes from a) cartographer b) metamap c) mapnotes ?

if yes , good,

if no, some vital stuff is missing then, nopoint in changing to annother notes addon.

this is a point, most authors dont seem to be aware of. Or just code some universal im/exort utility for notes addons with plugins/filter templates for any note mod outthere, so its easy to migrate for users in any direction.

Okay, I've been looking at the Handynotes Addon, and I must say, I'm extremely interested and am wanting to try it out. I do have a few questions, if you could help me out :)

I know you make the main & flight masters...I was wondering if you could post screenshots?

Also, and I'm going to be asking this of the other two "additions" to this addon that I like (vendors/trainers sister project) what I should uncheck in my cartographer (regular, not 3) so that they are able to work side by side. Thanks! ^_^

Ok I might be a bit retarded, not quite sure yet. But I just dled this mod and at first it appeared to be working extremely well, but where it shows me I have quests, I dont. And I know that I have completed a few that it already has listed...any advice?

I'd like to also request the ability to toggle all notes off the minimap. As it is I have to /handynotes and disable the addon to see quest givers and whatnot.

hi

i'm working on HandyNotes_OpenPVP ( http://my.curse.com/downloads/wow-addons/details/handynotes_openpvp.aspx ) and other addons like this one.
first i want to thanks yuu for handynotes, its a nice thing for me to realise my addon-ideas.

so i want you to ask if you can implement follow features for plugins:
- options to disable the showing of handynotes from a plugin on the minimap and or worldmap
- options to spezific what kinde of notes from a plugin are showed, of course this has to specific the plugin, somting like a filter.

Being able to toggle the minimap icons would be a blessing. One of the problems I have is that the icons will overlap my quest icons so it's easy to lose where new quests are or where quests need to be turned in. Some areas (like the inn in honor hold) I have to just delete all my notes so i can find where the quest is.

Either that or is it possible to change the strata level so the icons appear 'under' the quest icons? I doubt it though.

You are correct, it cannot be under the question marks.
