HealPoints
HealPoints is a healer gear benchmark addon similar to TankPoints for tanks. It is designed to make it easier for healers to choose the most optimal gear, balancing
- Intelligence
- Mana Regen
- Spirit
- Spell Power
- Crit Rating
- Spell Haste
It displays all your relevant basic stats as well as HP/sec
, HP/mana
, etc. for all your healing spells. It also displays a few more advanced benchmarks:
- PowerPoints: focused on healing output over a short period
- EndurancePoints: focused on healing output over a long period
HealPoints detects and supports all relevant talents and almost all set and equip bonuses.
You can view your current HealPoints by typing:
/hp calc
Your HealPoints, PowerPoints and Endurance points will also be displayed on your paperdoll.
If you have a LibDataBroker feed view (e.g. TitanPanel) then you will see:
- a feed containing your current HealPoints
- a tooltip showing the value of relative stats
HealPoints contains a calculator that lets you manipulate the basic stats and see how they affect your spells and overall healing efficiency.
That would probably be the best way to do it, thanks for listening :)
I've been thinking a bit about it and a FSR-time adjustment wouldn't work for HealPoints as it is now. But what I probably could add was a slider to select % of time not actively healing.
Example: Select 15 min duration for PowerPoints and 40% not actively healing. That would mean 9 mins with healing and 6 mins with only regen. This is different from % outside FSR as you still can have time outside FSR inside those 9 mins if you run out of mana.
A bit late here, I hope this made sense :-)
Yeah I know it doesn't work quite like that, guess I was looking for something similar to powerpoints but with a way to manually adjust for periods outside the fsr (like twins, where you get to spend a long time regening etc).
HealPoints doesn't quite work like that. It computes how much you can heal in 6 minutes (default settings) and checks each spell and rank to find out how the maximum healing output can be achieved. It could be casting a fast spell lots of times (little time inside FSR) or casting a slow spell fewer times (more time inside FSR).
For now, you can approximate the effect of FSR-time adjustment by using the options window to force spell/rank-selection as well as duration.
It could be because chain heal is used to compute the HealPoints value. If you open the calculator and mouse-over the PowerPoints and EndurancePoints lines, a tooltip will show the spell and rank used. If HW or LHW is used, it sounds like a bug.
I would like to see some setting that takes into consideration how much time you spend in the FSR, I feel that healpoints undervalues spirit for certain encounters where you get to spend long periods outside the FSR and a length*fsr% calculation would be kinda nice.
Just loaded up the mod, and after messing with it (while the 8/8 -is- being calculated) the 5/8 bonus isn't. WHen I do /healpoints bscan I get the bonus to show up properly as compared to when it's not completed (25% chance for 35% becomes 25% chance for 0%).
However, if I simply remove one piece it takes off the predicted value, same amount when I am not breaking that set bonus.
Great mod btw.
I'll have a look at it next week, thanks for the bug report.
I was delighted to find that this updates tooltips of items I mouse over, in comparison to gear I have equipped.
However, I find some contradictory information.
Default settings in Healpoints I take a level 60 human paladin with a basic Holy shock/healadin spec and strip her naked except for a Chivalrous Signet and a Dragonslayer's Signet. I then consider a Band of Rumination.
All combinations of ring wearing indicate that equipping any one of those three rings, in place of one of the other two gives negative points.
In fact, if I am naked, with nothing on, it tells me that equipping one of the rings lowers my healpoints.
Tooltips in the trade channel should just work. As for other channels, I'm using the ChatLink addon myself and HealPoints works fine with it.
No plan to add Link Wrangler support, at least not yet. I have a few other things that I'd like to implement first.
Hello,
is it possible to have the tooltips in links from trade channel or similar? Or should that work already and some other addon is interfering? I'm using Link Wrangler at the moment to have multiple items visible at the same time.
Edit: the Link Wrangler docs explain how to add LW to other addons:
http://www.wrangleraddons.com/LinkWrangler/linkWrangler.htm
Could you add this to future versions?
cheers, B.
Thanks for the Tooltips! Can't wait to test it on the next Raid ;-)
Command line toggle or GUI checkbox shouldn't be too hard to add.
Any chance for even just a command line toggle for the tooltip text? I don't need to see it most of the time, and my tooltips are cluttered with enough stuff I do use more often as is. lol... Idea's nifty though, would love to see TankPoints with a toggleable option like this as well (might go and suggest it at some point)...
maybe I've got the same prob as bink. With my druid hp doesn't show me +heal and mana-reg while casting. Porbably it's a prob of the new bonusscaner cause it worked perfect b4r... I get really shocked when my hp sank to 50k from 80k^^
btw: I try to set different itemsets for different bosses concerning the length of the boss-fight. Would it be possible to add a feature to calculate hp with different fight-lenghth ? eg that if the fight takes a time of 20min you get more points for mana-reg items. I like the possibility to change the endurance/regen/power points but one simple scale to calculate diffrent hp for different fight-length would be incredible...
sry for my bad english...hope you get what I've got in mind...
edit: there's a new bonusscanner btw...
'Logically' - I guess that depends on the logic behind EndurancePoints, doesn't it? ;-)
+int and +mana don't increase EndurancePoints by design (unless you have a paladin with illumination).
PowerPoints is designed to focus on manapool size and high hp/s, because that's what's most important for countering high damage bursts. EndurancePoints is designed to focus on manaregen and high hp/mana, because that's most important for countering damage taken over a long period.
To achieve this, PowerPoints assumes that you start with full manapool and heal just 1 minute. While EndurancePoints assumes that you start with empty manapool and heal as long as 5 minutes. As PowerPoints starts with empty manapool, +int and +mana have no effect. And conversely, spirit and +mana/5s have little effect for PowerPoints.
But in the end, PowerPoints and EndurancePoints are added to make the overall HealPoints stat, so by then all factors are taken into consideration.
Logically int and mana should effect powerpoints, endurancepoints, and total healpoints in the calculator. However, when adding Mana the endurancepoints do not change.
Working on it, partially completed. Will be in the next version or the version after.
Since I cannot know all drops and even purple items are not always better than the blue once I have, I use mostly healpoints to decide weather or not to roll/dkp on an item in raid. Sadly the short time needed to manually remove the current item and calculate the points for the possible new one is more than I have some times.
Is it possible to include a healpoints +/- display in the item tooltip? The value should show me the healpoints change if I replace a current item with the new one. Items fitting in more than one slot like rings should display both possible values. Maybe there is another fast way to get the healpoints that I haven't thought of yet?
BTW: Thanks for the great work!
Very strange. Try relogging, I guess - I don't really have any other suggestions when it works on your shaman.
