HealPoints
HealPoints is a healer gear benchmark addon similar to TankPoints for tanks. It is designed to make it easier for healers to choose the most optimal gear, balancing
- Intelligence
- Mana Regen
- Spirit
- Spell Power
- Crit Rating
- Spell Haste
It displays all your relevant basic stats as well as HP/sec
, HP/mana
, etc. for all your healing spells. It also displays a few more advanced benchmarks:
- PowerPoints: focused on healing output over a short period
- EndurancePoints: focused on healing output over a long period
HealPoints detects and supports all relevant talents and almost all set and equip bonuses.
You can view your current HealPoints by typing:
/hp calc
Your HealPoints, PowerPoints and Endurance points will also be displayed on your paperdoll.
If you have a LibDataBroker feed view (e.g. TitanPanel) then you will see:
- a feed containing your current HealPoints
- a tooltip showing the value of relative stats
HealPoints contains a calculator that lets you manipulate the basic stats and see how they affect your spells and overall healing efficiency.
I am also having problems with the tooltip display. I had shoulders equipped on my druid that had + stamina and +agility. The tooltip fpr shoulders with +int and +spirit showed minus healpoints. Many items display no tooltip when the stats clearly should provide a significant healpoint boost. These problems have only come up since the patch - prior to that, the addon worled splendidly. I have been releying on it to make good choices on my healers. Thanks for working on this - it is my favorite addon by far and I hope it is back to its old self soon. :)
cheers,

This may sound weird, but i'm finding that items with longer names on the first line -- 21 characters or so-- in the AH are not correctly represented in the tooltip difference, as well as items with long names equipped on me do not seem to be reflected in the difference when mousing over another item. maybe this has been the problem. I was getting correct differences with some items compared to the dreamweave and not with other items.
Thanks again for looking at this. :)
Strange...
Here's an example:
Dreamweave circlet is equipped and Abjurer's hood of the whale is in my bags. Tooltip shows - 1625 which is the amount of healpoints I lose if I remove Dreamweave. However, the hood has +14 spirit and +13 stamina. These stats do not seem to be reflected in the tooltip difference.
Hope this helps. :)
I tried to reproduce the problem (even using a dreamweave circlet) but I was unable to get the bug myself.
There is however one possible solution. HealPoints won't display any tooltips if the item won't result in any changes. I.e. you'll never see "HealPoints difference: 0". Could that be it?
I didn't get the tooltip on a couple items in my bag and at AH. Also, it seems if item has +stamina it disregards the rest of the stats and just shows a minus amount equal to if you had unequipped the item it is comparing to.
Yes, English client.
One item i remember in particular is Dreamweave circlet was equiped and the tooltip for other pieces in my bag or at AH just showed a minus amount equal to removing the dreamweave no matter what stats they had. Also, noticing a few items with +Int and + Spirit not showing any tool tip.
Otherwise, I love this mod.
1) I will look into the +dmg/healing issue. Which item was it? Using the English client?
2) Do you remember when you didn't get a tooltip? I does not display a tooltip on already equipped items and items you see when inspecting other people.
I have noticed that the tooltip is off when there is an item with "equip: +damge and healing" on my character and I am mousing over another piece. It seems to show a difference deducting my gear but not adding the stats of the new piece i am mousing over.
I have also noticed some items with out a tooltip altogether but the tooltips are not any larger than other items that do show the healpoints tooltip.
Btw, none of these items were enchanted
Alright, thank you for clearing things up. :)
BonusScanner was never a dependency. I've modified BonusScanner to detect healing-related set bonuses and this modified version has always been embedded in HealPoints. (And of course updated to work with the latest patch.)
Thanks for updating this to v2.0.
Wasn't "BonusScanner" itself a dependency before? Is it still or not? Just saw some bonusscanner-files inside, and I'm wondering now if "BonusScanner" is still needed, because it wasn't updated yet. -.-
I've re-uploaded the file. Hope it works now :-)
Same problem here, there's no mirror available.
no file to download :(
Please note that until Blizzard fix the enchant display issue (all enchants are currently displayed in white), tooltip numbers may be a bit off.
The old version won't work with the new patch.
I have a new version almost ready, but have run into some last minute problems. For one, the current bug with enchants displaying in white breaks the tooltip display a bit. Also, I have some performance troubles - also related to the tooltips.
My guess is that the new version will be posted this weekend.
Hello again!
Since the patch yesterday, I can call up the HealPoints configuration with slash commands, but the points do not display in the character sheet or on items upon mouseover.
You mention that you're working on an update for the add-on - is that only for expansion or might it be coming out soon?
Thanks for all the hard work!
Should be, yes.
Hello!
Just a quick question - is the talent Spiritual Guidance taken into account when evaluating/comparing gear based on +/- healpoint? This is the one that gives +dmg/healing up to 25% of your Spirit at rank 5/5.
Many thanks!
Eridan, thx for the answer and I love your working on a WOW 2.0 version.
As for the Cofigurable tooltip info, that would be great. I specially will loved it when an item drops in a instance, you can then see directly if it is any good for you. Maybe also add the options as Regen an item give, which is great when using it as Grinding gear. Anyway, just see if you have time to make more info possible in the tooltip (Configurable).
GL With the TBC Version
I'm working on a new version for WoW 2.0 (next patch and TBC) right now.
More info in tooltips? Maybe, I'll consider it. I prefer to add as little as possible, though - the tooltips are often large enough as is. Maybe I'll make it configurable - we'll see.
