What is the enhancement in mind? How should it look and feel?
If the Unit's setting can create a new unit, just like Groups of setting to create a new group. So it would be freedom and beautiful to units frames!
Please provide any additional information below.
For example,I can create 3 layout for player frames, each only show "health bar" "power bar" or "portrait",I can move them to anywhere, set their own size, and so on,rather than be restricted in a frame box!
Although this could be pretty complex for new users to figure out, I could see how it would be VERY useful.
TO Allara:
Thanks for your votes.I don't think it's a matter to new users, there is a same config in "groups setting". If they want to show Party or raid group, they must know how to set it.
I was looking for something exactly like this so that I could create a second player frame and target frame and position them as a basic hud.
I think this is such a good idea and not only for the stated reasons. If I were able to create several frames for the same unit I'd be able to use more features from pitbull that I don't use now because I don't want all those indicators showing in the same frame, like the cast bar, threat bar, exp bar and so on. Adding this feature would help me reduce the number of addons I currenty have to use.
Agreed with the earlier comments. Being able to create more than one 'singleton' frame would really unleash the potential to utilize all of Pitbull's features and modules. I've created some nice, sparse, minimalistic unit frames with Pitbull and placed them close to the center of the screen with click-through enabled. There are a lot of Pitbull features (portrait, castbar, various indicators) that I would like to display off to the side since they won't fit in the small centered frames. The ability to decouple unit power, portrait, or even text information by adding them to an extra frame would enable a whole new set of layout possibilities and satisfy all those requests to scale/size/offset various elements differently from the main frame.
I took a peak at the singleton frame creation process and didn't see a quick and easy way to do this. Hope that this feature makes it into the main release soon!
I've got the code mostly done to do this. I just need to finish some other things up in the branch. But my time is rather limited at the moment.
