PitBull Unit Frames 4.0
PitBull Unit Frames 4.0
Woof. Arf. Yip.
Getting Started:
You can help translate PitBull for your language with the localization tool.
Classic
PitBull works with WoW Classic! Classic Era/Vanilla is supported in
v4.3.x-vanilla
releases. Cataclysm Classic is supported in v4.2.x
releases
(the same releases retail use).
Classic Era caveats:
- Aura duration is not available from the API, so PitBull uses LibClassicDurations to show them. The duration can be inaccurate if it's affected by rank or talents.
- Cast info is only available for your spells from the API. PitBull uses LibClassicCasterino to show cast bars for other units, but this can be inaccurate since there is a lot of guess-work involved.

I like your Addon more thank XPearl, but would it possible to implement an extra unit for Holy Power, so it doesnt need to be sticky on any other unit? That would improve my heal effectivity more and more! :>
Thank youu!!
At this time (*dramatic pause*) it is not possible. But as my German teacher would say prior to giving us a quiz the next day.... it would BEHOOVE you to check back in the future to see if it is a possibility then. (And no this doesn't mean it will be available tomorrow... just that perhaps I have heard of something in the works that would make this possible when it gets finished)
Until then I do believe there are some add ons that are specific to Holy Power so you may want to check one of them out. :)
- Resource utilization? (CPU, onUpdate, UI mem, etc.)
- Capability?
- Ease of use?
- Profile/layout management?
- Interaction/conflict with other addons/Blizzard UI?
I was a long time user of PB2 & 3, then transitioned over to SUF and while I find it very light on resource use, I do find it rolling right into "PB3-itis" and more worrying, a sense that community is being ignored.
You can also use the Guide linked above to get some idea of how PB4 design and layout works.
There are things that SUF can do that we can't and vice versa.
We have entirely different designs when it comes to layout systems. SUF uses something more akin to what PB3 had where each frame has a configuration. PB4 is a very different animal with abstractions (we call them layouts) to configure the looks of each frame, with the ability to choose the layout for each frame.
Ease of us is entirely subjective. Some people find the layout system very easy to use and intuitive, some people are entirely confused by it.
There's not much in the way of conflict that I'm aware of with PB4, can't speak to the state of SUF at this point. Most of the conflict issues we run into are people running OmniCC and want it not to mess with their auras and people using some other addon that shows Blizzard frames if it isn't configured to hide them.
You might need to do some modifications to the Portrait module to let you arbitrarily size the Portrait and to let you set the strata/level of the frame.
I wanted to create a Frame where Healt and mana are small lines somewhere in the middle and the portrait as a background... you know what I mean?
It would be so awesome to create my favourite oUF style with my favourite Unitframe Addon (Pitbull) :)
Keep on your great work!!!
I've used the guide, but think it's more of a brief overview than a real in depth guide. Since I can't spend time with it due to maintanence, I just need to know if it's possible (and I"m just doing it wrong) to hide my player box only when I'm in raid/party but have it visible while solo. I can't seem to figure that out.
Thanks for the help I checked it out when I was writing my comment, seems I had to restart the game in order to see the changes on the border vs healthbar agro option.
Huhh, that seems saves my ass. :D
Perhaps you create one that looks even more cool than you PB3 style!
<- pb3 set-up
struggling trying to get pb4 to do this.
Do you have specifics of where you are getting stuck? From what I've seen it should be quite do-able with PB4
@ movies and jimy:
PB3 = each individual frame had its own layout, if you liked a layout you couldn't use it again without replicating your steps each and every place you wanted to use it. PB4 = make as many or as few layouts as you like and then apply them to the frames you like.
So if you want the same thing as PB3, just make that many layouts. If you prefer not to replicate your work, just make as many layouts as you need.
Details on making layouts can be found in the guide... linked above
I am having similar issues with getting my frames set up how they used to be since switching. All I would like is the option to remove certain things from some of the unit frames. Like turning on auras for the Player frame, but still keeping them on the Target frame and things like that. It was my favorite thing in Pitbull 3 and I can't seem to find that same functionality in Pitbull 4 atm.
