Description
GemList will make your life as a jewelcrafter easier. after installation you open your jewelcrafting panel. now your friends will be able to whisper you
!gems red
to get a list of gems you can craft that fit into a red socket. of course this works with blue/yellow/meta, too.

Before reporting Bugs
pls make sure you use the most current version of GemList. Try the link above. Try disabling all other mods and see if the problem persists. If it does not, update your other mods. If it does, post your problem and mention the version number. use /glist version or look into changelog.txt to find out.
Options
You can set some options using /gemlist or /glist.
/glist inc Toggles whether incoming requests are shown
/glist out Toggles whether outgoing replies are shown
/glist autoscan Toggles whether your Jewelcrafting panel will be automatically scanned when opened. DON'T use this if you use the "Stormy Star of Elune glitch-fix"
/glist desc Toggles searching in description. This is to enable searching for Stats like int, agi +heal and so on
/glist scan Manually scan your Jewelcrafting panel. You have to open it first. Do this if Autoscan is turned off and you learn a new Gem
/glist tlock Determines the Spamlock Timer in seconds. Customers will get a msg to wait x seconds before next query
/glist chatprefix Use this to change the prefix which will trigger GemList in whispers to you. !gem will work always though
'/glist version Prints Version Info. Use this before reporting bugs
/glist insert lets you manually insert gems into the databse. this is the "Stormy Star of Elune glitch-fix" This is not longer needed

FAQ
since this is a FAQ here a clarification on the query system:
there are no options to filter by hardcoded into the mod. it searches over occurences of the queried words in the gem's tooltip (stats and color here), name, rarity, itemlink and reagents. for a query to return any gems, ALL words in the query have to appear in one of these.
you could search for sta stam stami stamin stamina sp spi spir spirit str stre stren streng strengt strength blu blue yel yello heal healing crit spell damage agi agility def defense
and even any combination like blue spell yellow mana heal rare red def [itemlink] agi

Posted May 28, 2007I'm having problems too. The mod "forgets" everything you have in your list and returns no results at all. Opening the JC window and doing a manual /scan seems to bring it back, but I have to re-scan it each time I close the JC window. So I have to leave the window open while spamming trade, so that people can search.

Posted May 25, 2007I've downloaded the latest copy of GemList and suddenly I'm not getting any information.
No errors pop up. The addon does load. I'm able to view the /glist menu. It won't scan at all and won't return information with the !gem search.
That is with r34848.
Using r29035 puts me back up and running, but only with the old scan of my gems. It won't scan the modified jewelcrafting menu to show my new gems.
I sure hope this is being worked on. I really love how this mod lets me and others check my list while on any character I have.

Posted May 24, 2007Would it be possible to link the recipes instead of the gems? getting [Jewelcrafting: Radiant Deep Peridot] as a clickable link with the mats is abit more useful than just the gem, I still get people asking for the mats for gems even after telling them to drop the first word!!

Posted May 23, 2007I also experience that r34848 doesn't work - and I'm on an american server. when you open the professions window it doesn't appear to scan into the gemlist database.
I'm going to try using r29035 to see if that works.

Posted May 20, 2007I notice that the most recent on, r34848 does not work on an American server, even if all other addons are disabled, it simply gives an error of an empty DB and will not scan. The 29035 seems to work just fine now, so that fixes that problem. Works for in and out of guild members :-).

Posted May 19, 2007i downloaded the program from here and asked 2 people to try the !gem red command after i became aware that it was having an error.
when the member of my guild did the search it told him all the red gems that i could cut..
however the friend who was not in my guild got a message saying the database was empty, and i got an error message saying that he was attempting to search the gemlist but the jewelcrafting panel had not yet been opened.

Posted May 18, 2007Like the other users that have posted recently, I can't get the mod to scan, whether auto, or manual, nor can I manually add gems. I went to the acefiles and downloaded the version hosted there, and still has the same issue.

Posted May 13, 2007sign @morbiddeath. seems like the scanning code is broken or incompatible with 2.0.12. Same for 29035, just testet. Crosstestet different versions (no betas) on different clients (all german, no other addons) in any possible combination without results.

Posted May 12, 2007Yes i know this, and i did a fix like this in the past, but in 2.1 (PTR) the glitch is fixed and Stormy Star of Elune is listed under "Blue". I tested this, and GemList properly scans the Gem on the PTR (deDE & enGB Client).
