RaidBuffStatus
Reports on a configurable dashboard or to group chat on consumables, buffs, AFK, mana and many many others but in an intelligent automagic way. RBS is the last nail in the coffin of all slacking level max-level raiders. RBS also provides unique tank taunting warnings not provided by any other addon.
RaidBuffStatus is for 5 man instances and raids of all sizes.
RaidBuffStatus was originally written by danielbarron and is dedicated to his daughter, Jaina. The addon is currently maintained by oscarucb.
About
"'''RaidBuffStatus is the last nail in the coffin of slacking raiders.'''" - Stormsnow, a Raid Leader
'''RaidBuffStatus''' is an addon to check, show and report on the complete buff status (including flasks etc) of a party or raid. It can report via whispers and to raid chat. In addition it provides a talent spec window which also shows any special abilities.
However it is quite unlike BigBrother and most other buff checking addons. '''It was the first released (8th March 2008) addon to intelligently, in an automagic way, know what buffs to check for.''' For example only if there is a Mage will it check for intellect buff and it does not check the buffs of those not in the same zone. As much as possible is automatic.
Addons like XRS require lots of initial configuration. '''RBS works with no configuration out of the box.''' However RBS now features a '''Buff Wizard''' to help new user non-raid leaders to configure only the buffs they need to be displayed.
RBS can do the buffing for you such as your self and party buffs with a quick right-click.
RBS supports addons like Titan using LibDataBroker.

Tank warnings
This feature warns you about people taunting your target. It has different warnings according to who taunts; taunts, ninja taunts (someone taunting your target you are tanking), your taunt fails, other people's taunt fails and when a non-tank taunts your target. Ninja taunts are when the mob is targeting you which, in theory, means you are tanking it. It might be changed to take into account threat but so far it seems reliable without that.
The most interesting feature is that it can even tell you about mobs being taunted off you which you are not even targeting.
How to use it
When you join a party or raid the dashboard main window will open. (Alternatively click on the mini-map icon to toggle the dashboard open and closed). It will automatically know what to check for. If you want to disable a check then click the icon representing that spell. Click again to re-enable.
To report to raid or party click '''Trash''' or '''Boss'''. You need to be in a party or in a raid and be the leader or assistant to do this. By default, Trash assumes all buffs except consumables and Boss assumes all buffs. To report only on one buff, Shift-Click on the icon for that buff. To send a whisper to someone missing a buff, Control-Click on the icon for that buff.
It is as simple as that.
To initiate a ready check click '''R''' button.
To view the spec information on people in the raid click the top left menu button. This window can be sorted by any of the columns by clicking on the buttons above the column itself. The spec is gathered as soon as a person is within inspection range and cached for the duration of the raid. Considering you will have to gather up at the start or outside before you begin it is highly likely to have all the info when you need it.
In the top right there is a menu button which opens an options window. In that window you can do things like configure which buffs to check and when and so on.
Raiders in groups 6, 7 and 8 are ignored for buff checking as these groups are often used for substitutes. This is configurable.
Tank List
RBS tries to automatically spot who the tanks are. It does this in two steps. First it looks at the tank list. (Every raid uses a tank list right?) It can use many tank list systems in common use including anything compatible with the Blizzard tank list, oRA, ctra, or xperl. Then it looks at the talents and class of the players on the list to check they could tank.
FAQ
Passive auras vs static buffs: Why does it prompt players to buff X when I already have aura Y?
By default RBS prompts players to apply static buffs (eg Power Word: Fortitude) when they are available in the raid, even if you already have an equivalent aura (eg Blood Pact). The reason is that despite the equivalent stats, static buffs provide superior reliability in combat - specifically, static buffs like Power Word: Fortitude won't be lost from your character if the warlock providing Blood Pact dies, disconnects or goes out of range during the fight. If you really don't care about this issue and prefer to let your buffers be lazier, you can disable the "Prefer static buffs" option in the addon configuration.

Thanks very much for a great addon. Please enhance RBS so the Crystal of Insanity buff called "Visions of Insanity" (spell id 127230) is considered the same as a flask or equivalent.
As discussed in other comments below, the Crystal of Insanity is strictly inferior to a proper flask.
If you wish to allow this form of slacking, you can enable the "old flasks and elixirs" option.
Any chance of a Noodle Cart tracker? We tend to use them more then feasts now would be handy :3
Noodle Carts are now announced in addon version 5.8 (currently in beta testing).
As a fellow addon developer, I just wanted to stop by and say thank you for the addon. It's been a huge benefit having it around. I appreciate your time. :)
Addon version 5.7.0 (currently in beta testing) adds several usability features:

I have been using RBS for a long time and reccomend it to any and all raid leaders and yes the comment below is 100% on the money Idiot check compliments RBS like no other add-on could. I have one question/suggestion I would like to know if we could get added to RBS. Could we get an announcment of who popped Hero,TimeWarp, etc added to the announcements that RBS already does? Great addon love the work you have put into it to keep it going! Original author did a great job and you took over the reingd to keep it number one. Thank You!
Glad you like the addon :-)
RBS doesn't currently track or display combat raid cooldown usage, and there are currently many other addons out there for doing that (eg oRA3, DBM-SpellTimers, etc) - for now I'd recommend using one of those.
I have lately observed a growing number of people intentionally screw up in LFR either just to grief or prove how "horrible" LFR is in a selfprofessing way or to get a fast queue without the intention of playing their role.
I do not find is ok and it would be nice to know who they are, in case their shenanigangs makes the raid toxic by being the front runner for a witchhunt of why the raid is wiping. I am all for having consensual fun but not for having fun on 24 other peoples expense.
Can this addon check if everyone is using the right spec for the role they are assigned? (those picking tank/heal role with the intend to do it in dps spec).
Can it check if someone not a tank is using a tank selfbuff -- or if a tank is not using it. I noticed it has warnings for non-tanks taunting during combat.
There's nothing like that currently built into RBS - it generally assumes your raiders are not intentionally trying to fail and focuses on checking for honest mistakes.
You might want to try the addon IdiotCheck - it complements RBS nicely and performs far more detailed checks of gear, glyphs, spec etc., including catching the "wrong spec for role" case you asked about.
Thanks for the recommendation, I will try that. I do not want an addon that makes me totally anal about stuff, but knowing before first pull if someone looks very suspect might prevent some of the recent nasty encounters I have observed lately.
IdiotCheck checks me, so it does not have what I am talking about.
I want an addon that can do a role check to see if everyone else in raid is in a spec for their designated role.
Edit: ok, they have added a target inspection in recent version that might work.
Can also try LFRTools
http://www.curse.com/addons/wow/lfrtools
that will check to verify people are int he correct role/spec
I was in ToT last night with raid assist. When I tried to post the RBS it kept saying I wasn't in an instance. I couldn't find a button in config to change that.
Please post a ticket with complete information here
Be sure to include raid size, difficulty and what button you pressed
Would it be possible to have the Mastery buff scanner look for Grace of Air from shaman, as well? It's very rare to have a raid without at least one shaman, so Grace of Air (+3000 Mastery) is always there. I saw your reply to danbopes below, and I understand that you wrote it to look for "active" buffs, not passive, but in the case of Spell Haste, it depends on specific specs, while GoA only requires that you have a shaman, any shaman. I completely understand it not looking for Roar of Courage, which is a pet provided +3k Mastery. However, it seems silly to constantly have that Mastery Buff warning flagged just because a paladin didn't bother to push a button. Especially when I'm on my shaman and I'm the one providing the buff. :)
You can get that behavior my tweaking the "Prefer Static Buffs" option under "Reporting".
That being said, it's still a "good idea" for your paladin to push that Might button pre-pull. Grace of Air has a limited range around the shaman, and there are many boss fights where it's easy to outrange the shaman and lose the aura. Also if the shaman dies, the whole raid of course loses that aura. In both cases the "static" might buff provided by a paladin would remain.
Good points. I'll play with the setting, see which way it works better. I usually agree with you about individual buffs > auras, because individual buffs don't die, but I'm doing a lot of LFRs lately, and about 50% of the time I get pushback from the lazy paladins: "You have it already from the shaman (or because you're a shaman)." Thanks for the quick reply.
A minor detail.
The locale.lua doesn't have a translation into spanish for the "prepares" announcement in line 4092.
It's somewhat annoying to manually add the line at every update.
Would it be possible to update to:
["prepares a %s!"] = "prepara un %s!",
Thanks.
