Ace2 may be depricated, but it's not dead. Ace2 is "done", not "dead".
i know i certainly won't be moving it to Ace3 (i tried, then gave up). Ace3 removed a lot of features.
And i've commented out use of StatFrameLib until StatFrameLib is updated for the new paperdoll frame. It can continue to use StatFrameLib, but StatFrameLib needs to be redesigned. i was thinking of taking a crack at it myself; since the StatFrameLib API good, but just needs to do whatever GearScore did to add itself there.
There should be other, better ways to deal with adding features to the paperdoll frame than doing it the way GearScore/"PlayerScore" does. SmoothDurability adds info to it, HatTrick adds checkboxes to it and so on.
GearScore is widely regarded on this site & elsewhere as being poorly coded (excluding the controversy among some about what the mod does). That's one of the reasons for the creation of YAGRA & Elitist Group some time ago.
The other thing: its code has now changed to a "non-free" license that has restrictions I've only seen once or twice in 5 years of testing thousands of mods. Some text from the mod: "All materials contained in this "Addon" including, but not limited to, any electronic files, code, audio, themes, or images, are the copyrighted property of Master Games International Inc. Unauthorized usage is strictly prohibited". Meaning any duplication of methods opens yourself up to copyright violations/being sued.
TankPoints used to place itself on the paperdoll. Then Blizzard broke the paperdoll.
It is possible to put it back on the paperdoll (since i've seen at least one addon do it).
i was not saying anything about the quality of the addon (good or bad), except that it found a way to do it.
Or in the case of today: Nebular fixed it internal to TankPoints - removing the need for LibStatFrame.
And he also updated it to Ace3, so he's a better man than i - and this ticket can be closed (if only anyone on here had moderation privelages)
