tomQuest2

Table of Contents

This project is abandoned and its default file will likely not work with the most recent version of World of Warcraft. Whether this project is out of date or its author has marked it as abandoned, this project is no longer maintained.

TomQuest2 is a quest addon that is made for LibDataBroker (ldb) here is a list of addon using ldb.

TomQuest2 was heavilly insipred by fubar QuestFu (thanks to kemayo for this great addon)

Here is a list of Modules and their features:

Quests Tooltip

Display number of quests in the quest log
Display number of completed quests
Display maximum number of quests allowed
Quest tag for daily, pvp, dungeon, number of suggested player and level
Clickable tooltip and mouseOver interaction
Display quest by header (zone, class specific quest, world events...) that you can collapse / expand by clicking on it
Display of zone level (if zone is available in your language in libTourist-3.0)
Zone colorization by difficulty or class if it's a class header (can be toggled off)
Quest colorization by difficulty based on your level and the suggested quest level (can be toggled off)
Display party members quests that you do not have in common in a separated header (provide limited interactivity as it's not in the questlog)
Quest status displayed for each party member (Complete or Failed)
Quest objective progress displayed for each party member
Quest objective auto hide when you or the party have completed the quest objective
Quest objective information on mouseover
Quest log diplay by left clicking on the tooltip
Quest sharing by ctrl + left click on the tooltip
Quest tracking by shift + left click on the tooltip
Quest abandon by alt + left click on the tooltip
MobMap and Cartographer quest info integration by middle clicking on objectives
Hide completed objective (never, when everyone in the party has finished, when you have finished)

Notifications when a quest is accepted, turned-in or abandoned
Notifications is done through LibSink-2.0 so you could send the notifications through:
- Blizzard notifications
- MSBT
- SCT
- Parrot
- Chat Channel

Sound Notifications

Audio Notifications for quest objective completion, quest completion and quest failure
Audio warning can be customized with LibSharedMedia-3.0

it include scrollable tooltip and trackers (you have to toggle it in options and then you can define max height for each independently in options)
it also include the option to put the achievements in the same tracker than quests
and bugfixes...

Another suggestion, if I may:

I know Blizz's UI allows this, but I simply like using tomQuest more, especially since there's no limit to how much you can track with tomQuest.

However, would it be possible to mimic Blizz's quest tracker in that both quests and achievements tracked can go in the same tracker? I'd rather have just one tracker to place than both.

If this is already possible, please let me know how to do it.

Achievement Tracker gives me the next message soon as i want to track one:
cannot track that many objectives and i have to untrack some first.

reinstalled tomquest and turned of all other addons but stil getting the same maessage.

You don't have much, if anything, tracked already, right?

If you have moved your minimap to the bottom of your screen, or near to that, that will push Blizz's tracker off the screen and you will get that error. Found this somewhere in the official forums via Google. The fix is:

1. Slide your map up till you can see the default tracker (enable visibility of it if tomQuest hides it).
2. Move the tracker anywhere else on your screen -- it will detach from the minimap and not move it.
3. Put you rminimap back where you want it.

Once I did the above I was able to track stuff again, and the problem has not recurred after putting the minimap back bottom center where I'd had it.

Apparently they are working actively on the scrollable branch, I'll try to do some test tonight in my internal build. From my understanding it should not be too complicated to add to tomQuest2 once it's part of the main library

Do you know of any quest linking problems? As far as I know you aren't supposed to be able to link anything into general chat, but for some reason it attempts to (only for quests, items have no issues) and when some other players see it, it appears as a long-spam like message rather than a link.

I have tried to get an example but was unable to, but from it sounds like it shows up as the scripting for the link. Not entirely sure if its tomquest or something else (like cartographer or chatter), but thought I'd bring it to your attention.

I'm not aware of such problem.
With tomQuest2 you are able to link quest link or quest progression directly in chat (It should use the last chan you used before).
chat link is shift + right click on tooltip or tracker
chat progression is ctrl + right click on toltip or tracker

I have two requests for you to consider :)

One: I don't know if it's possible with LDB, but as I use Broker2FuBar (so that it's closer to what QuestFu used to be), is it possible to make the list of quests scrollable? Right now, I have 19 out of 25 quests, and I know I could collapse categories to see more (and especially the helpful hints at the bottom0, but if it is possible to make that scrollable, I'd love it :)

Similarly, the quest tracker, would it be possible to add a "max height" option, so that if the tracker exceeds that height, it just becomes scrollable?

That is something I want to do, but for that I need an update of the LibQTip library to include the possibility to do scrollbar, apparently it's something that they are working on :) So once it's in I'll include the option to made the tooltip and tracker scrollable.
