Vanas KoS
Vanas KoS is a Kill-on-Sight notifier, that uses every possibility, to detect nearby KoS targets, and notifies the user in different ways. Additionally it records PvP-Stats in outdoor PvP and shows these in the tooltip (configurable).
A: Copy the file WoW\WTF\Account\*YourAccountName*\SavedVariables\VanasKoS.lua to a safe place of your choosing.

A: Make sure that you do not have "Show only my entries" checked. You and your guild members must also enable sharing of their lists with the guild.

Q: I see weird messages in my Chat Window on the Channel CrbZ????, What's up with that?
A: It's not normally supposed to be visible. But you can disable the displaying of that channel in the settings for the chat window. Just uncheck it there.
Q: My channel-numbers are all screwed up
A: It seems that your computer is too slow. VanasKoS joins the Distributed Tracking Channels 20 seconds after login/changing the Zone. You can modify this value manually in WoW\Interface\AddOns\VanasKoS\modules\DistributedTracker.lua under "JOIN_DELAY".

Posted Oct 24, 2019When is an update coming? This addon generates a ton of LUA errors so u get that big warning popup even though LUA-errors are hidden.
Below are just a few that keep happening every day, but there are more:

Posted Oct 22, 2019I don't get it how it works.. I check "Only show my entries" but i see random guys in both player kos list and nicelist aswell. Even if i hover over these entries i don't whose might be. How can i really track only the ppl i add?

Posted Oct 7, 2019If you type the first letter of a name when trying to filter, it shows 0 results. Example: Name: "Testchar". If you type "Testchar" you get 0 results. If you type "estchar" it shows up.

Some questions if you don't mind, since i couldnøt find the answers.
1. How do you share data with the sharing feature? is it over whispers, in some hidden chats etc? Is there a limit to how much it can send? For instance really big notes with alot of characters to be shared?
2. Is it possible to make the text editor for a note, a lot larger, so that's its more editor friendly?
3. Is there a limit to how many characters that you can add to a note, for sharing purposes or how u store and read the data in the DB file?
The reason im asking is because i wanted to be able to use this addon, but having the list and data sharing only between a few people. It looks like either u share it with everyone, or with your whole guild. I only want to share my lists and their lists with people with good judgement that i know. Im thinking about a background program that runs on client machines and send and recieve updates to the data (skipping your sharing feature), so that data sharing can be done between chosen individuals.
Is there any way to do these things i¨'ve described in your addon, that i may have missed? Otherwise my listed questions pertains to some things i'd need to know to make this program.

Posted Sep 21, 2019Hi and thanks for updating this for classic, been using it since wrath. Is there a way to control how long names stay in the warning window? I would like the names to stay there for a minute or 2 so I can click them to see if they're back in range, it seems like often names popup then disappear a few seconds later.

In dunno the classic version but I assume they're quite similar.
In retail you can do it as shown on the screenshot below.
I'm currently using the German version but I think you can easily transfer it to yours.

Posted Sep 15, 2019Great addon, always suggesting people to download it, only one major issue I have in classic wow: It shows all the time people flying bats/griphons in the warning window which is kind of annoying -> aka false flag. You are not sure if they are real or flying over you :/
Minor suggestion: I somehow better see the enemy's guild than his name when the warning notification appears, would be nice to be able to disable target's guild name as I don't care much what his guild is ;)

And that's with the latest version of VanasKoS? LibSharedMedia had a bug in it that was fixed yesterday. If you have the latest version of VanasKoS it embeds the 114 revision of the LibSharedMedia which has the fix.

Are you all accessing the page from https://www.curseforge.com/wow/addons/vanaskos? That one doesn't give download links to the alpha and beta versions. So far I've only made a beta release for classic (two weeks ago). If you go to the wowace page https://www.wowace.com/projects/vanaskos instead, it will have the latest alpha and beta links. I can go ahead and make it a full release, but I haven't done a whole lot of testing on it beyond the basics. (My highest classic char is still just level 11 and hasn't gotten into a PvP yet)
The github download won't really work, it will be missing the external library dependencies and localization that the curseforge packager packs into the zip.
edit: Just retagged the beta version as a release build, no difference between it and the beta. You can see it on the curseforge page now though.

If it's the warning window, by default it's only visible if the PvP flag is on. Maybe that's it?
