X-Perl UnitFrames
Patch 6.0.3 compatibility and future of X-Perl
Use latest alpha from WoWAce for using in Patch 6.0.3
http://www.wowace.com/addons/xperl/files/
May still has problems but for most cases it should be working(at least was tested on beta), if not, clearing old setting by killing(and backup) XPerlxxxxxxx.lua in the WTF directory of your WoW installlation and try again with fresh new default setting, thanks your patience.
If still someone want to help Zeksie for he earns his donates from X-Perl then that's fine for Zek and X-Perl, but seems like it's time to cut him out as no one want to help X-Perl anymore (as many of users already heard about the mess of this poor addon), I guess.
I don't know X-Perl will still be continue or not(it's highly possible it won't be, as the new maintainer Resike continued the developing and forked to Z-Perl, and he said he won't abandon his addons), I won't force everyone should must to use Resike's one at this point, as his Z-Perl isn't stable yet, and for some reasons, I don't think he want to port his fixes back to X-Perl as he knows about how Zek did about his addons and everyone who helped Zek to maintaining this poor addon...and, of course...X-Perl may broken again when next time Blizzard's patches released..... /sigh
(At this point, I won't force everyone who used X-Perl to go Z-Perl until it's more stable than now, feel free to use Z-Perl or other Unitframe addons if you want, and do NOT hold your breathe about X-Perl too much, too. I already lost my hope on X-Perl, at least I can trust Resike and Z-Perl now...)
Sincerely,
PlayerLin - Maintainer of X-Perl but not a proper skilled coder, just a locale translator and do some shitty PRs. :(
Bug Reporting
Please use the Ticketing System on WoWAce Here and avoid posting bugs using comments on Curse because they're difficult to track and they will probably get lost.
Use a good error catcher (like BugSack from files.wowace.com) and provide the full error text, and give as much information as possible to recreate the problem. Don't assume We know what you're talking about with some three word report.
Introduction
Perl, with Extra stuff. Much enchanced from Nymbia's Perl UnitFrames, and a complete replacement for Blizzard's default unit frames, including raid frames and raid tools, with little remaining of the original Nymbia code.
- Range Finder (combined with optional health check and/or debuff check) for all frames based on spell or item range test.
- HoT Monitor will highlight units clearly that have ''your own'' active Heal over Time spells. Regardless of how many other heal over time buffs are on the raid members, you can keep track of your own ones and when they expire.
- Debuff Highlighting in standard debuff colours on all friendly frames. Priority given to show debuffs that ''you'' can cure first.
- Raid Frames, buff icons, MT list units and some other portions or X-Perl are Created on demand. Saving a lot of time and memory at system startup. Defering the creation of many parts of X-Perl to when they are actually required. And of course, most often outside of raids they are never required and are never created.
- Raid Target icon support for Target, Target's Target, MT Targets.
- Raid Tooltip will show combat rezzers available (druids with Rebirth ready (or very soon available) and any normal rezzers out of combat) if you bring up tooltip of a dead person.
- In-combat indicators for all units.
- 3D Portraits for player, pet, target, focus, party. Optional. Of course this may degrade your framerate somewhat because you are displaying more 3D character models that without this option. But some like it pretty, and it does look cool.
- Red and Green combat flashes for frames when player, pet, target, party, partypets, raid take damage/heals. Useful indication of things happening.
- Added '''time left''' on party member/target buffs/debuffs when in a raid, these depend somewhat on CTRA sending appropriate information over the addon channel, although some of it can be determined at run time by X-Perl, when a player gets a buff for example, we know how long it should last, and therefor when it should expire.
- Totally new options window including all X-Perl options and access via minimap icon and the /xperl splash command.
- Configurable colours for borders and backgrounds. Including class coloured names, and configurable reaction colours.
Much care has been taken with code size, memory load, memory usage per cycle and so on. LuaProfiler/OnEvent mods used extensively and regularly to ensure that X-Perl does not do more work than is absolutely necessary.
Assists View
Will show anyone from raid assising you with your target, and can also show healers or all plus known enemies targetting you.
Tooltips for the same also available (on player and target frames) if you prefer to not use the main window.
MT Targets
Replaces CTRA MT Targets window, and doubles as a replacement for the Perl RaidFrames warrior targets.
Indicator shows which target you are on.
Frames will be coloured to show if tanks have duplicate targets.
Casting Monitor
(WORK IN PROGRESS)
Shows selected classes (defaults to healer classes) in a list (much like the MT List), but with some differences.
Shows mana bars and cast bars on left. Their targets on right. Health bar as normal, but a secondary small red bar on targets which shows the maximum single hit this unit has received since entering combat. The secondary bar will extend downwards from their current HP level down to as far as zero.
A green name on the targets indicates this is the same target that you have. You can click on casters or their targets as expected.
For druids, right clicking on a caster will cast Innervate on them.
For shamans, right clicking on a caster will cast Mana Tide Totem. Check the * indicator to see if they're in your group.
All bars can be re-sized in X-Perl main options (Monitor section).
Totals can be toggled (from the 'T' minibutton at top of frame) which gives overview of raid mana status.
Raid Admin
(WORK IN PROGRESS)
Save/Load raid roster setups Only does direct save and load for the moment, but more to come (templates and such).
Item Check
Replacement for /raitem /radur /raresist /rareg. Use the old commands before, or drop items in the left item list.
Query button will perform /raitem on all ticked items (query always includes dur and resists) and you can then view and review all the results whenever, without having to re-query each item.
Includes everyone in raid, so you don't have to work out who doesn't have items, it'll list them with 0 instead of no entry.
Active Scanner to check raid member's equipment for the item selected. So you can be sure that people actually have the item worn (Onyxia Cloak for example), without having to go round single target inspecting everyone who 'forgot' to install CTRA for the 50th raid in a row.
Grim Reaper
Removed from X-Perl, but continues as it's own standalone Ace mod.

More Buffing Features
Can be found in my new universal buffing mod, ZOMGBuffs
Someone submitted a patch some time ago to do that, but it aparently has never been accepted. Here is the link to it (I'm not even sure the developer has seen it).
http://www.wowace.com/addons/xperl/tickets/868-patch-add-role-to-xperl_raid-frames/
hmm, is there a way to show roles in raid frames? not only party frames? kinda can't find it
you obviously didn't read the ticket.
http://www.wowace.com/addons/xperl/tickets/1250-i-cant-dismiss-my-pet/
there is nothing to remove, because xperl isn't doing ANYTHINg here. It's failing because you're right clicking, that's it. Create a macro and avoid right click menus in combat that access secure functions.
Every single one of those errors is blizzards fault. The ONLY way to avoid them is to not use addons (ANY addons) that use right click menus.
Hunter Pet frame "dismiss" needs to be fixed or removed, isnt working. details: Date: 2011-11-23 05:45:37 ID: 1 Error occured in: AddOn: * TaintForced * Count: 1 Message: Error: AddOn * TaintForced * attempted to call a forbidden function (CastSpellByID()) from a tainted execution path. When I logged in today, it decided that I had wanted my target's target frame to overlap with my target's frame.
This is incredibly aggravating, as, not only do I really like this addon and don't want to disable it... but I can't see the thing I am killing's health, because, when soloing, it overlaps with my health. (I haven't been in a dungeon but I imagine it would function the same; only, instead of my target's health being overlapped with mine, it would be the tank's).
I know there is probably a solution to this, I just haven't had this addon for very long so ^^;
I love this addon, but it really needs a feature to disable the party unit frames.
Any chance of this in the future?
From the login screen, open the Addon Management in the bottom left. You can un-select X-Perl Party Frames.
Bumping this issue as seems to be happening more frequently.
Getting an intermittant issue with the level # on portrait not updating on leveling unless you log and relog. Happening on all of our systems that play WOW.
Thanks,
Rach
please fix the raid pullout. I have to /reload after a wipe as the raider markers error out and the function is non usable when trying to place raid markers. please add support for raid markers while in party. i have encluded the error i get,

Just bumping my thread again. This issue is becoming quite bothersome.
too many burrowed options :/ if You want to see pet's target, You need to turn on Your target, then target's target.. and only then You can see options for Your pet's target :| and of course You can't show pet's frame, if You don't turn on Your own frame..
As from me, highly UNRECOMENDABLE for hunters..
Hi,
Is it possible in any way to remove this flashing effect when a proc happens and it removes the cooldown on a rune? It's extremely annoying because I'm never sure if I already used that rune and I can't see the cooldown on the rune next to it. This is what I'm talking about:

Thx for a great addon!
When I logged in today, I suddenly found that it was showing the normal cast bar in the middle of my screen near the bottom. I had it set to show the cast bar on the actual nameplate above my healthbar, but when I go to the player tab, the original cast bar is unticked and the cast bar option is ticked by the check mark is grey. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling but it still won't let me check/uncheck the cast bar options. I have no idea why it's doing this. Any one else having this problem? Why is it doing this?
yeah if you clone mainline, your version picks up where it left off. and you inherhit mainlines scripts too, which are programed to auto push a new revision each commit, it's fine though, it doesn't conflict with mainline in any way, any commit you do to a clone stays in clone, curse client won't look at clones or anyhthing like that
as for any remaining div by 0 errors. http://www.wowace.com/addons/xperl/tickets/1232-x-perl-divide-by-0-errors-ptr-4-3/
none have been reopoprted here and i haven't gotten any, so without reports they won't get fixed. Every reported error has been fixed. No error report no fix. I've raided dragonsoul without issue from anything but recount and he just fixed that error earlier today.
This addon it having issues with changing glyphs. Blizzard is blocking something it is doing and making me turn off the addon, then change them, then i can turn it back on.
If you cloned the mainline repo, then you will got all mainline X-Perl files and its whole log, I never see any excepts...maybe.
@sontix
Thx m8! i was wondering if you were still around :P
I was wondering with the druid (moonkin) power bar if there was another place to place it (maybe similar to lock shard bar) so it's not over the buffs when they change forms. Or adjust it so buffs appear under the power bar
@Sontix: I checked them, yeah, you did committed them to your repo. Good start.
But you shouldn't uploading the changed TOC files that from downloaded newer alpha/beta/release version of X-Perl and use them, CurseForge/WoWAce's packager will adding some useless shit to those TOC files, they don't needed in SVN files at all, because the packager will adding them when packaging, I think you can reverting all of TOC files to the r589 one, unless you did change on them, and STOP commit those changed one(from downloaded X-Perl files in WoWAce/Curse) when you didn't edited them.
Looks like the packager didn't know your repo or just do nothing for some reasons. Do you checking the package setting? Or, try changing some codes and commits, if it still do nothing... try tagged a beta or release of your repo and I guess it would do something but I cannot sure what's wrong with it, maybe I'm wrong or not. :\
Like I was said, I use TortoiseSVN and it can handle a lot of SVN related shit, you can try it. :) (Yeah, I know may not ask me but just share my option. :p)
I made so many changes in the player frame module that i don't even know how to explain all the work i've done on the special bar for eclipse, shard etc...
how am i supposed to comment things like "i've change the word mana into power because i've removed all te mana/rage/energy/runic power events to keep only the one used in wow 4.x: UNIT_POWER")
PS: you should correct a division by 0 error in party_pet it is erroring out even with mana sometimes.
Edit: woot too much things to learn just to upload an addon, can you suggest me a very easy to use program to commit what i've done ? All I've managed to do is creating an SSH Pubkey and a SVN password >.< @mysticalos
insert those lines of code:
XPerl_Player.xml:347
XPerl_Player.lua:228
XPerl_Player.lua: inside the function XPerl_Player_UpdateDisplay (self)
XPerl_Player.lua: around line 921 with the other events.
that's all you needed to make the raidtarget icon work
