Skada Damage Meter
Skada is a modular damage meter with various viewing modes, segmented fights and customizable windows. It aims to be highly efficient with memory and CPU.
"Skada" is Swedish for "Damage".
Note: I took a tiny break from WoW (a decade), but recently started playing SoD. Be aware that this addon may not quite work yet.
Usage
When you first start using Skada, there will be a window created by default. This window can be extensively customized in Skada's configuration panel; click the little cog icon to access a menu, and then click Configure. Depending on your user interface, there may also be a minimap button allowing quick access to this menu.
Skada supports multiple windows. To create a new window, click Windows in the addon's configuration panel. There are three built-in types of windows - Bar, Inline, and Data text. Bar is the classic damage meter window, and is very customizable. Inline shows the meter in a horizontal line, which can be useful for integration in custom user interfaces. Data text shows just one item at a time, and can also be displayed by any LDB display addon, such as Titan Panel, ChocolateBar, or ElvUI.
In the normal Bar window, you can left click on specific items for more detailed information, and right click for less details. At the very "top" is the list of all saved fight segments. Some data modes have several detailed information views. In this case you choose alternate views by holding certain keys pressed while clicking. For example, in Damage mode, you can Shift-click a player to see what enemies the player caused damage to. Tooltips will display how to reach the different views.
You can also use window buttons for selecting fight segment and mode directly.
Scrolling in Skada is done with the mousewheel.
Plugins
Skada is easy to extend, and there were once many extra plugin addons out there that add functionality. However, there are unlikely to be any maintained ones currently.
There is a page with API information here.

instead of
Skada
Skada [Absorbs]
Skada [Crowd Control]
Skada [Damage]
etc
etc
this will help in situations where i may want to disable skada fully with one click instead of many, also keeps the interface tidy.
Thanks!
Apparently my dps on my shamen has jumped from around 4k raid buffed to 9575 on a single target not buffed according to Skada, not what i would say as accurate.
Fixed the Spark Problem.
Download this file and unrar it into your "Interface" folder. It is an UI-CastingBar-Spark replacement. Tested it and it works

Great addon and very light for a healer as we dont really need to know all the other data recount uses.
Is there any way to change the boarder colour of the background as there is no option to do it.
thanks

Hey there, its a great addon! keep up the good work, unfortunately some bugs still occur in the latest release.
i can not reproduce it but every now and then skada's threat module shows everyone except me, the MT. its very annoying due to the fact that even a /reload does not solve it. i encountered this misbehavior in ulduar at first a few months ago and its still a "feature" in all actual encounters anub'arak or onyxia it doesn't matter, i even encounterd it in the scarlet event thingi ;)
second bug: the damage meter does not always automaticaly show up after fightend. the battle is over and approx. 10 seconds are needed to get dmg informations. or it completely refuses to switch to the dmg module and stays in threat.
third or second.5: sometimes the automatic switch between threat and another module after fight does not function.
the last one (maybe only a feature request): while pausing or rebuffing i trie to look up some things but, if someone enters the instance or disconnects/connects in the raid all context menus disappear. is there a possibility to fix this behavior?
regards
2. Recount is a ridiculous memory hog, but it's detailed data is excellent for teaching purposes. The detailed data tells the full story of how a player is doing and where they can improve. You can observe a stronger player's playstyle and see how that can be implemented into your own. On the flip side, the detailed data also shows where your fellow teammate needs work so your guild's raid overall damage or healing is vastly improved in raid encounters. If you simply want #s then Skada is excellent and very lightweight. If you're looking to see how you can improve compared to others in the raid...Recount's full program is better. Ultimately, the most accurate way to determine how you can improve is studying the data your guild uploads to the online programs such as Worldoflogs.com. That is exact and tells the full story.
