10mb usage necessary ?

Hey, I seem to be getting problems with switching profiles.

I Main a hunter and have Survival as main and Marksman as off-spec.
Made seperate profiles for each and whenever i switch I loose "4" as a binding completely and my traps disappear from my bars completely.

All the boxes are checked
Using elvUI and some other general raiding addons.

Any possible fix for this?

But I want to write you directly :-) I search for an addon which do the following things:

1. Save the Spell Position in the action bar (fields) Like a normal spell from the spell book.

2. Save all macros + the position in the Action Bar Fields

Your Addon seems like the first step to this. I try to produce 3 Profiles: - Mistweaver - Windwalker - Tank

When I spec to Mistweaver, and I load the profile "Mistweaver" it have to remove ALL macros and spells in the action bar. Load all macros from the "Mistweaver" profile. And set them into the action bar.

When I spec to Windwalker, and I load the profile "Windwalker" it have to remove every macro / action bar field, and create all the macros I saved in the profile. Set them into the action bar fields.

So bascially you create a "Trippel" or better said "ALL SPEC" Addon :-) I just go to the teacher, remove "Mistweaver", learn "Tank" and with one simple click I load all the tank macros and set everything back to the Action Bars :-)

When I'm tired of Tank, I go to teacher and remove tank, learn mistweaver again, and just load my profile. And I have all my macros and spells back in the action bar.

I hope that made sense to you :) I used "Profiles: Action Bar" and "Profiles: Macros" buut, this addon isn't up to date. And it's not working 100% like it should :-\

EDIT: Perhaps you should set the .lua (settings file) into the char folder, instead of the global setting.

Here: \World of Warcraft\WTF\Account\NICKNAME\Kult der Verdammten\Jingfei\SavedVariables Instead of: \World of Warcraft\WTF\Account\NICKNAME\SavedVariables

So the file is "smaller". And only loaded for the right character itself. And if you have a second monk (class). You just could copy the "ActionBarProfiles.lua" to the other Monk (class) and you have all your preset action fields (spells) + Macros :)

For sure, you need an error routine like: IF a spell / macro isn't found, let the action bar field empty. This is important if someone learns a new talent in the talent tree. Loads the profile, and then the old spell is removed (not found).

Good addon BUT it's not working like I want to.

Profile1:
Windwalker (DD)

Profile2:
Mistweaver (Heal)

When I spec to heal, save the profile (macros and all) it's fine.
When I set a second profile like "PvP Mistweaver" and "Mistweaver" its working.
I can switch between both :-) Buuuuuuut, when I spec to Windwalker, and load the profile. it's broken.
When I switch back to Mistweaver, it's working. Seems like only the last "spec" save is working :-\

Any solutions?

I used "Profiles: Action Bars" and "Profiles: Macro" (addons).
And wanted to replace them with yours. Because the Profiles Addons aren't working 100% :-\
What I want to have is just an addon which saves my macros + action bars.
So when I spec from Heal to DD, I have all my macros back in the action bar :)
SO I can basically have "tripple" or better said "all" specc :)
Like Mistweaver and Windwalker. Go to the teacher, remove mistweaver, get TANK and buja. Just load the tank profile. Go back to the teacher, remove TANK. And learn Mistweaver again. Load the "Mistweaver" Profile. Done :)

Should this work with your addon?
The profiles getting red (the names) when I spec to something else :-\

I guess I found the issue.
When loading a new profile, it doesn't remove all macros, and LOAD them again.
Like when I have Mistweaver Macros. I switch the spec to windwalker. Then I load the Windwalker Profile, there are still the "Mistweaver" Macros. So that he tells me
"33 of 79 actions in this profile cant be used from this character. Are you sure to load the profile?" (something like that).
So, normally the addon should do the following on a profile load:
- remove all macros, all action bar fields
- load all macros, set all action bar fields
- Error Routine: IF a spell / macro is not found anymore, let the action bar field EMPTY.
(the error routine have to be, because if someone changed a Talent Spell, the spell is not there anymore.)

Oh I see...
This addon does not save macros at all. This addon just set the "Action Field Spell". Like the position of a spell / macro >_> So this can't do what I want too :-( .......

One question:

When creating a profile and saving it (all options selected), the font stays red. When trying to load it says that one action of x (in my case 65) can not be used on this character. This happens even if I saved it just a moment before. I don't see a missing spell or so on my action bar after loading the profile. (Playing a monk, tested with mw and ww spec).

Edit: Did some more testing and my problem happens if there is a warlocks healthstone in my actionbars, but not in my bags. I always leave it in my action bars, even if I don't have one. Perhaps this can be fixed? :)

With ABS not getting updated any longer I was getting kinda worried on how to deal with spec changes on my druid. Thanks so much for making this!

I've been looking for a way to sync my action bars across all my hunters, mages, etc.

With your addon, I create a profile for each: Hunter, Mage, etc. and then can load them on each class.

I like that the profiles are shared across all characters.

Well this is awesome and a few suggestions as I prefer command line to using the character tap. These suggestions are inspired by the addon "Action Bar Saver".

/abp save profile_name

This would save the current settings as profile_name under the category current class. For example, if I issue the command /abp save feral it would create a profile named feral under the category of Druid assuming I am logged in as a Druid. This would allow the same name to be used multiple times which would be useful for restoration as several classes could use that name.

A simple GUI or command line interface could be used to select what settings should be saved in the profiles. For me I would never save macros for one profile and not another so a global setting would be fine.

/abp list

This command would list the currently saved profiles and would be listed as category: name1, name2, ...

Druid: feral, guardian, restoration
Shaman: restoration

/abp delete profile_name

This command would delete profile_name for the current class which of course would be programmatically determined by what class is currently logged in.

UPDATED: Removed log to spare the comments of spam. Alpha didn't work either. Been busy during all the WoD release and forgot to come back here. (Could not really test addons during the Qs. As of 0.5.2 works great for me.

(In prior release when opening the character window and clicking on the new "Action Bar Icon" would give me errors. (After that the new profile window would still open open but then clicking on the "New Profile" Button would do nothing (No interaction). I had "ElvUi" and the "Extra Action Bars" addon for it.)

I just wanted to say, that you rock! I have been looking for a decent action bar addon, for years. I just tried another 3 addons that are similar to this. I also used Action Bar Saver back in the day, but found that it has some annoying bugs (for example, if the loaded action bars has empty buttons, they would not carry over to the new setup, if there were abilities on those buttons already).

This addon does every thing I wanted abs to to, and then you added a gui button. You are amazing. <3
