ArkInventory
ArkInventory (for The War Within)
:boom: Please ensure you are using the latest alpha version if you have the War Within client.
ArkInventory (for Retail, Classic, and Cataclysm)
ArkInventory's display windows are built from "virtual bars", you assign categories to bars so that items in that category are displayed on the specific bars you want. There is no limit to the number of bars you can have inside a window but obviously you only have so much screen real estate before it becomes "too many".
ArkInventory uses several methods to assign a default category to an item such as what professions you have, tooltip scanning, basic type/subtype and PeriodicTable. You then assign those categories to a virtual bar.
You can also over-ride the default category by creating a rule that matches either a single or multiple items.
Overview:
- user configurable window width and height
- separate keybindings for each location for easy viewing
- assign items to a category of your choice (overrides the default assignment)
- assign categories to the bar of your choice
- unlimited number of bars (there are practical limits though before your screen becomes full)
- sort each bar differently if required
- user configurable bars per row
- sell junk items automatically or manually (delete available via a keybinding or right clicking when at a vendor)
- random pet and mount summons. can also assign a group of them to select from
Key Bindings:
- Press ESCAPE to bring up the blizzard menu
- click on Key Bindings
- scroll down to AddOns > ArkInventory
- bind the keys you want to use

:boom: The NoLib variant
it seems quite a few people are somehow getting the NoLib variant from their download client when they didn't specifically ask for it, instead of the full variant, and its causing issues as they don't have the required libraries installed separately. Please ensure you are downloading the full. if you see nolib in the filename then its the wrong variant, unless you are actually installing all of the required libraries separately as well. If you have to you can manually download the full variant from CurseForge, WoWInterface, or Wago.
:boom: Junk Sell getting blocked
While auto-destroy remains blocked, From 30960 onwards you can setup a Key Binding to manually sell and destroy your items. Note that blizzard require one keypress per item deletion, so if you have multiple items that need to be deleted you will need to press the Key Binding multiple times. A message will be output if you have remaining items that can still be deleted.
:warning: Ensure you have backup copies of your saved variables file
Sometimes you cannot revert back to a previous version without a backup, especially alpha or beta versions, so before upgrading please make sure you have made a backup of your saved variables file
Your saved variables file is normally located at ...\World of Warcraft\_client_\WTF\Account\yourwowaccountname\SavedVariables\ArkInventory.lua
It is your responsibility to ensure you have adequate backups of your saved variables file. You dont have to do them frequently, just after you've made major changes to your config is probably fine for most people, but you should get into the habit of making backups because when it does corrupt you wont have to reconfigure everything from scratch.
If you have your download client set to automatically download alpha/beta versions you should definitely have backups.
A simple way to back up the saved variables file is to just do a copy and paste then rename the new file (using the version number of ArkInventory or the date is a good idea), eg ArkInventory-30900.lua, or ArkInventory-20191228.lua
But... I do have a problem
For one (1) of my characters the bank doesn't show right items. It's show items I no longer have in bank. To takes things out of the bank I have to remove Ark.
I read somewhere that this with "ghost images" is a known issue - when accessing guild bank, and the solution then is to click on an other tab.
For this char it's also problem to view guild bank as she can't select another tab (have to recheck that, it might be sloppy clicking.
Thank you for making ArkInventory
I love this add-on and I feel unorganized without. One thing that I've been trying to find is an option to show marks of honor or badges, kind of how the default UI does it. If there is an option where is it at? If not, it would be a great addition for future versions. Thanks!
Okay, I have been trying to figure this out for a while now, but I need help. I understand how to make rules, and how to set them up for types, and slots and stuff. But I can not figure out how to set up armor sets. For example:
tooltip( %sset: )
thats the template for the rule. I want to set up the Moonglade Raiment ( http://www.wowwiki.com/Moonglade_Raiment ) into its own rule and its own part in the bag. How do I set it up for that?
I have 2 accounts and I would like to transfer an arkinventory's profile from one account to another - but I need to keep my other profiles on the second account.
Is this possible ?
Thanks for your help :)
Are there plans to include support for item sets from Blizzard's gear manager?
Is it possible to sort items in my bag by name only for bar 2 or 3 (not 1)?
On one of my chars I use the 2nd bar for mining items such as gems or ore and it would be nice to sort them by category and name.
After some time I have chaos in that bar... :)
My 1st bar is sorted by me by bag slot. So I don't want an auto sort function in that one.
My account was hacked and I had this wonderfull addon installed so I can tell what I got in all my toons for the time of the hack
Blizzard is asking me to provide detailed information of my toons and what I had at the time of the hack, arkinventory has it all in a .lua file, is there a way I can export all in a format they can read and understand fast like excel? Thank you!
just load the lua file into word (or any notepad style editor) and then just remove the entries you dont need - all you should need to keep are the [h] and [count] entries for the toon.
just note that if youve logged in and accessed any location after being hacked then the data wont be gone, ie it'll be post hack data (which is useless for restore purposes).
if you've got backups then it might be better to use one of those, depending on how long ago you made the backup.
Like my poor chanter has all her chanting mats in one category and I can't keep that thing organized :p Be nice if we could set it so it would bunch all items of the same name together like xxxxxyyyyyccpppppp, and when you move one it moves them all. Nicer way to sort items in a category.
Is there a list somewhere of rule examples?
Great addon.
I would like to be able to sort in order of items picked up so that items I have just looted go together at the bottom.
Thanks
Is it possible to make this frame-correction if I click on the on the left upper button of Ark? I think then more people find this option and in most cases the checking und uncheching the option solve the problem for hours.
