ArkInventory
ArkInventory (for The War Within)
:boom: Please ensure you are using the latest alpha version if you have the War Within client.
ArkInventory (for Retail, Classic, and Cataclysm)
ArkInventory's display windows are built from "virtual bars", you assign categories to bars so that items in that category are displayed on the specific bars you want. There is no limit to the number of bars you can have inside a window but obviously you only have so much screen real estate before it becomes "too many".
ArkInventory uses several methods to assign a default category to an item such as what professions you have, tooltip scanning, basic type/subtype and PeriodicTable. You then assign those categories to a virtual bar.
You can also over-ride the default category by creating a rule that matches either a single or multiple items.
Overview:
- user configurable window width and height
- separate keybindings for each location for easy viewing
- assign items to a category of your choice (overrides the default assignment)
- assign categories to the bar of your choice
- unlimited number of bars (there are practical limits though before your screen becomes full)
- sort each bar differently if required
- user configurable bars per row
- sell junk items automatically or manually (delete available via a keybinding or right clicking when at a vendor)
- random pet and mount summons. can also assign a group of them to select from
Key Bindings:
- Press ESCAPE to bring up the blizzard menu
- click on Key Bindings
- scroll down to AddOns > ArkInventory
- bind the keys you want to use

:boom: The NoLib variant
it seems quite a few people are somehow getting the NoLib variant from their download client when they didn't specifically ask for it, instead of the full variant, and its causing issues as they don't have the required libraries installed separately. Please ensure you are downloading the full. if you see nolib in the filename then its the wrong variant, unless you are actually installing all of the required libraries separately as well. If you have to you can manually download the full variant from CurseForge, WoWInterface, or Wago.
:boom: Junk Sell getting blocked
While auto-destroy remains blocked, From 30960 onwards you can setup a Key Binding to manually sell and destroy your items. Note that blizzard require one keypress per item deletion, so if you have multiple items that need to be deleted you will need to press the Key Binding multiple times. A message will be output if you have remaining items that can still be deleted.
:warning: Ensure you have backup copies of your saved variables file
Sometimes you cannot revert back to a previous version without a backup, especially alpha or beta versions, so before upgrading please make sure you have made a backup of your saved variables file
Your saved variables file is normally located at ...\World of Warcraft\_client_\WTF\Account\yourwowaccountname\SavedVariables\ArkInventory.lua
It is your responsibility to ensure you have adequate backups of your saved variables file. You dont have to do them frequently, just after you've made major changes to your config is probably fine for most people, but you should get into the habit of making backups because when it does corrupt you wont have to reconfigure everything from scratch.
If you have your download client set to automatically download alpha/beta versions you should definitely have backups.
A simple way to back up the saved variables file is to just do a copy and paste then rename the new file (using the version number of ArkInventory or the date is a good idea), eg ArkInventory-30900.lua, or ArkInventory-20191228.lua
I was having this problem, and determined it wasn't my arkinventory. It ended up being another addon, In my case it was Telos Loot link. I updated it and it works fine now.
Here is the link to his latest addons incase its the same problem.

As of 2007-09-25's Patch Version 2.2.0, ArkInventory has an issue: Tooltips don't display when mouse Overing items. Could I get a confirmation from other users?
having a problem after blizzard implemented a new version today? aren't we all.
download 2.10, it's the only version of AI that will work under WoW 2.2.0
What happens when I accidently tell the bag mod to hide itself and than I can't get it to show again because it goes back to the regular bags on my lock, and now it won't come back and I can't get ark inventory to show even after disabling the mod and enabling
A few things.
1: Your mod is the single most awesome thing in the world. It just... ah, I positively LOVE it! It has made the game more fun for me, due to less fussing about with bagspace management. Awesome!
Feature requests:
2: Would you consider adding a stack merging feature? IE if I have eight stacks of super mana potions, to display this as one stack of... fourty super mana potions, I guess that would be. Being a programmer I know it's a tricky one, but it would enhance the previously mentioned awesomeness a bit.
3: the above feature also made available for empty slots.
4: a "new items" category to be added... Basically I would want this to encompass all recently recieved quest rewards, especially, to seperate them from common soulbound equpment. I'm thinking that the category could be emptied into the common categories AFTER your first visit to a vendor, for instance... or it could be done manually. I know this one would be a bother to put in there, but I thought I'd mention it.
5: an option to selectively remove the buttons in the top right... there are several of those I'd just like to tuck away in a menu, since I use them rather rarely. Perhaps a submenu in the menu system with checkboxes for which buttons I'd like to have there?
I know, several of these options are available in Baggins, for example. I hated that mod, don't ask me why... ArkInventory just positively smashes it. But those features, I really liked... so I thought I'd ask.
When I send stuff through the mail or recieve stuff my bag doesn't update unless I click the refresh icon.
I just updated my AI version, and now it all seems very buggy. There's no catergories fx.. http://strit112.googlepages.com/WoWScrnShot_082707_210745.jpg
I tried deleting my ArkInventory SavedVariables in the WTF folder, no result. Any ideas?
Strit112:
This is just and debug test, try renaming your addon folder to ex: addons911 (just so wow 'cant find it'). This will push wow to create a new addon folder with only the default blizzard frames and so on. Then rename the WTF folder in the same way: myWTF or somthing for the same reason.
Then you download AI again and put it in there and see what happens. Also another choise would be to show LUA errors.
Escape --> Interface --> "Show LUA errors" : )
Im looking for a lua rule to seperate all grey items. Is there anyone that can help me making such a rule?

Ark, I still love AI, and you still rock!
Just to put in my plug, I'd really like to see the functionality for anchoring AI to corners other than the top left finally implemented.
Thanks for your hard work, man!
One thing I would love to see get fixed since like 2weeks:
I put the bag display window on lower-right. When I wanna add an item to a list I push the edit button and click on the item. Then the popup window ALWAYS out of the screen and I need to move the bag display window far up to do my changes. Could you please fix this so the popup window always inside the visible area?
Many thanks, best best best bag mod ever!

it's a problem with the dewdrop menu system, i've told the authors about it - and yes it is annoying.
Is there a way to separately configure each character's bags?
Is there a way to separately configure each character's bags?
have each character use a different profile - either the character one or perhaps the class one
Note: For those of you who are )))only((( wanting to search your alts items, there's no need to install a full bag mod and hack it so that it doesn't show to provide bag functionality, just get something like
Possessions: http://downloads.curse.com/details/1404/
You can search all your alts, individual alts, view their bank/bags/equipped items and so on. If you're looking for a ))bag replacement(( mod, then AI is a great option.
AI Comment: Listen, I loved AI in the past, and I still have headaches from the other bag mod I changed to, but there are couple things that just ruined AI for me with the newer versions. I hope they get taken care of one day.
I do want to use AI again - it is seriously the best bag mod I have ever used... But these changes ruined it for me. I just wish that it was harmonious again like it used to be.
Would it be possible to apply a labeling function to the bars?
I use Bagnon and like it, but want this to show my alts bank and bank charactor bank, do i do what you said about showing the bliz frames? or is it not possible to run this mod right with another bag mod?
shouldnt be a problem, main menu > hidden frames > hide blizzard frames should be unticked then AI wont take control of teh bags or bank - which means that another bag mod can. you'd just have to setup a keybinding (Shift+F12 seems logical) to open AI
Hi i'm trying to make a new rule and i simply can't get it to work. Kingsblood counts as a enchanting material wich i strongly disagree with since i'm an alchemist : P So i'm trying to add a new rule so it will count as a herbalism skill. ive tryed type(herbalism) and some other different variables. Any idea how to set a rule like this?

probably easiest to just go into edit mode and assign the item directly to the herbalism skil
