ArkInventory
ArkInventory (for The War Within)
:boom: Please ensure you are using the latest alpha version if you have the War Within client.
ArkInventory (for Retail, Classic, and Cataclysm)
ArkInventory's display windows are built from "virtual bars", you assign categories to bars so that items in that category are displayed on the specific bars you want. There is no limit to the number of bars you can have inside a window but obviously you only have so much screen real estate before it becomes "too many".
ArkInventory uses several methods to assign a default category to an item such as what professions you have, tooltip scanning, basic type/subtype and PeriodicTable. You then assign those categories to a virtual bar.
You can also over-ride the default category by creating a rule that matches either a single or multiple items.
Overview:
- user configurable window width and height
- separate keybindings for each location for easy viewing
- assign items to a category of your choice (overrides the default assignment)
- assign categories to the bar of your choice
- unlimited number of bars (there are practical limits though before your screen becomes full)
- sort each bar differently if required
- user configurable bars per row
- sell junk items automatically or manually (delete available via a keybinding or right clicking when at a vendor)
- random pet and mount summons. can also assign a group of them to select from
Key Bindings:
- Press ESCAPE to bring up the blizzard menu
- click on Key Bindings
- scroll down to AddOns > ArkInventory
- bind the keys you want to use

:boom: The NoLib variant
it seems quite a few people are somehow getting the NoLib variant from their download client when they didn't specifically ask for it, instead of the full variant, and its causing issues as they don't have the required libraries installed separately. Please ensure you are downloading the full. if you see nolib in the filename then its the wrong variant, unless you are actually installing all of the required libraries separately as well. If you have to you can manually download the full variant from CurseForge, WoWInterface, or Wago.
:boom: Junk Sell getting blocked
While auto-destroy remains blocked, From 30960 onwards you can setup a Key Binding to manually sell and destroy your items. Note that blizzard require one keypress per item deletion, so if you have multiple items that need to be deleted you will need to press the Key Binding multiple times. A message will be output if you have remaining items that can still be deleted.
:warning: Ensure you have backup copies of your saved variables file
Sometimes you cannot revert back to a previous version without a backup, especially alpha or beta versions, so before upgrading please make sure you have made a backup of your saved variables file
Your saved variables file is normally located at ...\World of Warcraft\_client_\WTF\Account\yourwowaccountname\SavedVariables\ArkInventory.lua
It is your responsibility to ensure you have adequate backups of your saved variables file. You dont have to do them frequently, just after you've made major changes to your config is probably fine for most people, but you should get into the habit of making backups because when it does corrupt you wont have to reconfigure everything from scratch.
If you have your download client set to automatically download alpha/beta versions you should definitely have backups.
A simple way to back up the saved variables file is to just do a copy and paste then rename the new file (using the version number of ArkInventory or the date is a good idea), eg ArkInventory-30900.lua, or ArkInventory-20191228.lua
I'm having the same problem as ielmy and steveb-- Id been using ArkInv for quite a while, and now the latest version doesnt seem to work at all. Just opens up a regular bag.
love your mod, got 2 things for ya.
1) is it possible to make the bag not dissappear when entering combat?
and 2) shift-B will open my bags but not close them, which is kind of a nuisance because my B key is bound.
thanks in advance!

yes, disable the auto-close on combat option
and 2) shift-B will open my bags but not close them, which is kind of a nuisance because my B key is bound.
what do you have shift-b bound to? blizzard have two api functions one that toggles, one that opens, if shift b is bound to an open it wont toggle in ai.
I am a EngBags user and just found this addon via WoWFix.com. How is this better/different from EngBags? I've noticed EngBags to be one of my more resource intensive addons and am always open to testing out better choices.
Still consider this an important request (months, because it seems I couldnt get through just yet).
Problem synopsys: You move your arkinventory window on lower area of the screen, click edit and then just click any item in your bags near the bottom of the screen... You can see that the popup window doesnt consider being out of screen... Thus annoying us with moving the window around every time. Please fix this so the popup menu never gets out of view if I would ask you kindly. Thanks!
Feature request:
I think im not alone when im saying that refresh and compress button is used more than edit, bag changed, or rules... Thus please move the two a little separatelly from the other buttons in the row. Also would like to request some resize feature of the action buttons if I may, separatelly from scaling the window or item scale...
Thanks for reading, and much oblige for the best intentory addon ever created. Just simple genious work and we couldnt live withouth it anymore!

i've reported that to the author and requested that the menus be clamped to screen but i dont know if anythings happening with it or not
Sorry for dumb question.... but where i can find oprion to hide item or category? i diffinetly seen this option in edit menu but cant find it in recent versions...
Sadly, 2.24g did NOT solve the issue Snorgrind was having. I still get that error, and switched back to e.
AWESOME addon, btw, I can't imagine playing without it anymore. Really great work.
The only real "issue" i have is the annoyance when I accidently add something to a category. The only way I have found to remove an item from a category is to look at the debug info, get the item ID, go into rules, open specific rule, search for item ID, and then delete the ID. Your addon would be near perfect if there was a way to just "clear associated rules" for an item. Depending on how it it coded, I guess that could be difficult, but worth looking into, I believe.
see if 2.25a fixes it
I am getting an issue regarding scroll bars-- some of them seem buggy and extremely difficult to access. The problem I am having in particular is that a scrollbar(ex. Bag Scaling 0% - 200%) will simply disappear as soon as my mouse hovers over either the bar or the text box.
I'm not sure if this is a local issue or a mod issue. Thanks for your attention and your great mod too!
thas the dewdrop menu system, it can get a bit flakey. persistence or a /RL will fix it
Im getting the same message Razoon is getting...
The FrameLevel for the Bags window is currently at 130 and has been reset to 2 to ensure that....
everytime I open ArkInv...What do I do to fix this?
/ai misc alert disable
will stop it from annoying you but it wont stop it from happening (its a blizzard bug).

Hi again,
Just a heads up that since the last update the close bags on 'shift B' seems to have disappeared again. If it's an easy fix it would be great if you could put it back - if it doesn't clash with something,
cheers,
Wordcaster
remind me what you have shift-B bound to? was it OpenAllBags?
I having a big problem with arkinv right now and need help fixing it. I can only see what a item is if i go in edit mode and not when I mouse over it. Is it one of my mods preventing it or what?
I'd like to request a feature. I love this mod to death, but I'd like to see just one little tiny thing added to it. An overlay on the bag button of available bag slots. For example " 10/120 " on the backpack button.
