ArkInventory
ArkInventory (for The War Within)
:boom: Please ensure you are using the latest alpha version if you have the War Within client.
ArkInventory (for Retail, Classic, and Cataclysm)
ArkInventory's display windows are built from "virtual bars", you assign categories to bars so that items in that category are displayed on the specific bars you want. There is no limit to the number of bars you can have inside a window but obviously you only have so much screen real estate before it becomes "too many".
ArkInventory uses several methods to assign a default category to an item such as what professions you have, tooltip scanning, basic type/subtype and PeriodicTable. You then assign those categories to a virtual bar.
You can also over-ride the default category by creating a rule that matches either a single or multiple items.
Overview:
- user configurable window width and height
- separate keybindings for each location for easy viewing
- assign items to a category of your choice (overrides the default assignment)
- assign categories to the bar of your choice
- unlimited number of bars (there are practical limits though before your screen becomes full)
- sort each bar differently if required
- user configurable bars per row
- sell junk items automatically or manually (delete available via a keybinding or right clicking when at a vendor)
- random pet and mount summons. can also assign a group of them to select from
Key Bindings:
- Press ESCAPE to bring up the blizzard menu
- click on Key Bindings
- scroll down to AddOns > ArkInventory
- bind the keys you want to use

:boom: The NoLib variant
it seems quite a few people are somehow getting the NoLib variant from their download client when they didn't specifically ask for it, instead of the full variant, and its causing issues as they don't have the required libraries installed separately. Please ensure you are downloading the full. if you see nolib in the filename then its the wrong variant, unless you are actually installing all of the required libraries separately as well. If you have to you can manually download the full variant from CurseForge, WoWInterface, or Wago.
:boom: Junk Sell getting blocked
While auto-destroy remains blocked, From 30960 onwards you can setup a Key Binding to manually sell and destroy your items. Note that blizzard require one keypress per item deletion, so if you have multiple items that need to be deleted you will need to press the Key Binding multiple times. A message will be output if you have remaining items that can still be deleted.
:warning: Ensure you have backup copies of your saved variables file
Sometimes you cannot revert back to a previous version without a backup, especially alpha or beta versions, so before upgrading please make sure you have made a backup of your saved variables file
Your saved variables file is normally located at ...\World of Warcraft\_client_\WTF\Account\yourwowaccountname\SavedVariables\ArkInventory.lua
It is your responsibility to ensure you have adequate backups of your saved variables file. You dont have to do them frequently, just after you've made major changes to your config is probably fine for most people, but you should get into the habit of making backups because when it does corrupt you wont have to reconfigure everything from scratch.
If you have your download client set to automatically download alpha/beta versions you should definitely have backups.
A simple way to back up the saved variables file is to just do a copy and paste then rename the new file (using the version number of ArkInventory or the date is a good idea), eg ArkInventory-30900.lua, or ArkInventory-20191228.lua
In reply to ncplus: found it
type( "gem" ) and tooltip( "Meta Gem" )
type( "gem" ) and tooltip( "Tinker Gem" )
type( "gem" ) and tooltip( "Cogwheel Gem" )
In reply to ncplus: alpha 7 will have categories for them

Auriels resolved the issue here https://legacy.curseforge.com/wow/addons/betteraddonlist/issues/18 but the problem still exist if I use Arkinventory too so maybe you have to do something in your code too.
In reply to Cortx: its not an AI issue, its just that mod using one of the shared libraries that i happen to load first (so i get blamed for any issues with it).
In reply to Arkayenro:
File has been patched fo and addon and bug append with yours, I give you the information., I assure there is no blame here. I just inform you about an issue with the library that I know someone patch it in his files to avoid unjustified criticism of AI :) .
In reply to Cortx: sorry, meant the game will "blame" arkinventory. i've replied to the other thread
In reply to Arkayenro: Thank you
In reply to Cortx: My comment was deleted on the link you provided (not sure why or by who as I wasn't speaking or acting disparagingly toward anyone), but is also available here:
https://github.com/Torhal/LibDialog-1.0/issues/8
I'm sure that once that author puts out an update the conflicts will be resolved as it relates to multiple addons using this Lib file. Please be kind to our addon authors, y'all as they work hard to give us smooth functioning mods and are sometimes at the mercy of other authors.
I had to change line 6601 to
obj:SetJustifyH( "CENTER" )
This fixed the bug that broke the addon entirely for me.
In reply to Finnegan: Can confirm, this fix also worked for me.
Path for file to modify is: \World of Warcraft\_classic_\Interface\AddOns\ArkInventory\Core\ArkInventory.lua
as Finnegan said, replace line 6601 to
obj:SetJustifyH( "CENTER" )
In reply to Finnegan: will be fixed in alpha 2 (im amazed no one noticed it before)

Hi my alliance chars can´t see the items form my only horde char and he also can´t see the items from my alliance chars. What can i do to fix can´t? did not find solution yet
In reply to Schnidda: do you mean in the tooltips? theres an option in the config if you want the item counts to go cross realm and/or cross faction. theyre single faction single realm by default
In reply to Arkayenro: Thx mate that was what I was looking for!
I've this error since the patch.

In reply to Cortx: im presuming you use a non english language, that should have been fixed in 3.10.28 Alpha 1 onwards
i did not know this was active. i thought i had disabled it years ago so that people would lodge issue tickets and i only had one place to look at.
it appears that the new curseforge doesnt allow it to be be disabled any more so i'll have to come check here every now and then but it would be much more helpful if you created an issue ticket if you have an actual issue though.
After a recent update after 10.2.6 some of my rules are no longer working without errors, half my bags won't sort for almost half my rules, like for consumable or if something is BoE. The rules still say they're valid in editor
In reply to RyciaSoulblight:
can you post/send me some of the rules that dont work so i can check if its a general or just you issue?
