ArkInventory
ArkInventory (for The War Within)
:boom: Please ensure you are using the latest alpha version if you have the War Within client.
ArkInventory (for Retail, Classic, and Cataclysm)
ArkInventory's display windows are built from "virtual bars", you assign categories to bars so that items in that category are displayed on the specific bars you want. There is no limit to the number of bars you can have inside a window but obviously you only have so much screen real estate before it becomes "too many".
ArkInventory uses several methods to assign a default category to an item such as what professions you have, tooltip scanning, basic type/subtype and PeriodicTable. You then assign those categories to a virtual bar.
You can also over-ride the default category by creating a rule that matches either a single or multiple items.
Overview:
- user configurable window width and height
- separate keybindings for each location for easy viewing
- assign items to a category of your choice (overrides the default assignment)
- assign categories to the bar of your choice
- unlimited number of bars (there are practical limits though before your screen becomes full)
- sort each bar differently if required
- user configurable bars per row
- sell junk items automatically or manually (delete available via a keybinding or right clicking when at a vendor)
- random pet and mount summons. can also assign a group of them to select from
Key Bindings:
- Press ESCAPE to bring up the blizzard menu
- click on Key Bindings
- scroll down to AddOns > ArkInventory
- bind the keys you want to use

:boom: The NoLib variant
it seems quite a few people are somehow getting the NoLib variant from their download client when they didn't specifically ask for it, instead of the full variant, and its causing issues as they don't have the required libraries installed separately. Please ensure you are downloading the full. if you see nolib in the filename then its the wrong variant, unless you are actually installing all of the required libraries separately as well. If you have to you can manually download the full variant from CurseForge, WoWInterface, or Wago.
:boom: Junk Sell getting blocked
While auto-destroy remains blocked, From 30960 onwards you can setup a Key Binding to manually sell and destroy your items. Note that blizzard require one keypress per item deletion, so if you have multiple items that need to be deleted you will need to press the Key Binding multiple times. A message will be output if you have remaining items that can still be deleted.
:warning: Ensure you have backup copies of your saved variables file
Sometimes you cannot revert back to a previous version without a backup, especially alpha or beta versions, so before upgrading please make sure you have made a backup of your saved variables file
Your saved variables file is normally located at ...\World of Warcraft\_client_\WTF\Account\yourwowaccountname\SavedVariables\ArkInventory.lua
It is your responsibility to ensure you have adequate backups of your saved variables file. You dont have to do them frequently, just after you've made major changes to your config is probably fine for most people, but you should get into the habit of making backups because when it does corrupt you wont have to reconfigure everything from scratch.
If you have your download client set to automatically download alpha/beta versions you should definitely have backups.
A simple way to back up the saved variables file is to just do a copy and paste then rename the new file (using the version number of ArkInventory or the date is a good idea), eg ArkInventory-30900.lua, or ArkInventory-20191228.lua
Here's a picture of my UI circa January 2006: http://www.moonshinemanor.org/images/ui2006.jpg . I thought it was OneBag. I reinstalled OneBag a little bit ago, and it doesn't have the feature I'm looking for... now I'm not sure if it ever did. (Even if it did... I wouldn't go back! Love your work, thanks for considering this.)
there is a fontstring for the stock count (vendor) which i think is in the top left corner, i may be able to use that on the bag icons. i'll have another look later to see if i can.
I too need to know how to remove a custom rule once it has been added to an item. I have 2 items that I accidently labled incorrectly and not being able to remove it and fix it is very frustrating. Other than that, i love this mod.
you need to edit the rule (specifically the one you no longer want the item in). if you added it via the menu then you'll need to find it's item id (go into edit mode and click on the item, then chose the debug info menu). when you have the id you just edit the rule and remove the id( xxxxx ) part that matches that id
Ark, TY for moving the tool tips, and adding to what bag items belong to in the tooltips. Sucks the dont have a 6 star rating option, I gave you a 5 star a while back and its much improved. Thanks.
i get this error every time i scroll over my auto bar:

i've tried to reinstal, cleaned up my saved variables, etc. still getting the errors....can someone tell me what i need to do to make it stop
Hello everybody,
I have adjusted some Rules.
How can I delete formerly adjusted rules from an item?
Thanks for your help!
I get this message each time I open AI:
The FrameLevel for the Bags window is currently at 130 and has been reset to 2 to ensure that....
No idea what it means :(
How can I hide this Alert! message I get all the time? Cus sometimes it spams my chat channel.
I don't know the problem you guys are getting not being able to get the frame. It's working fine for me.
Yep, 2.24d totally hosed. Don't install it!
224d not working.
I don't get the frame just wow's bags. Nothing
error message please.
i know theres an issue if you click on the blizzard bag icons (the backback works fine and the issue will be fixed in the next version) but if you setup a keybinding for AI and use that it should open fine.

I have come accross a bug or something each time i open my bags this message pops up : Arkinventory :Alert! Bug Fix Complete. "The FrameLevel for the bags Windowis currently at 129 and has been reset to 2 to ensure thatit remains functional. Sorry for the lagg spike caused by the fix."
It does get friggin annoying for this to pop up every time i open my bags? any ideas on how to fix this issue
* added - /ai misc alert { disable | short | long } - defaults to long
the framelevel bug is a wow bug, if you dont care then disable the warning
I have found out one issue that I wish I could change. Some items "default" value. I have Wool Cloth being set for Skinning items and would like to change that, along with some herbs and a few other things. If you want a list of items, can do.
Also, is there a way to do profiles for different characters? I'd like to have different setups for different characters if possible.
Other than that, GREAT mod. Been using this mod for ages! Thanks!
No errors with 2.24c, it works fine, good job. :)
v2.24d its not working at all. All I see is my regular bags

can you post your arkinventory saved variable file to arkayenro at gmail dot com - i've missed something in the upgrade process.
file should be located in \World of Warcraft\WTF\Account\yourwowaccountname\SavedVariables\ArkInventory.lua
