ArkInventory
ArkInventory (for The War Within)
:boom: Please ensure you are using the latest alpha version if you have the War Within client.
ArkInventory (for Retail, Classic, and Cataclysm)
ArkInventory's display windows are built from "virtual bars", you assign categories to bars so that items in that category are displayed on the specific bars you want. There is no limit to the number of bars you can have inside a window but obviously you only have so much screen real estate before it becomes "too many".
ArkInventory uses several methods to assign a default category to an item such as what professions you have, tooltip scanning, basic type/subtype and PeriodicTable. You then assign those categories to a virtual bar.
You can also over-ride the default category by creating a rule that matches either a single or multiple items.
Overview:
- user configurable window width and height
- separate keybindings for each location for easy viewing
- assign items to a category of your choice (overrides the default assignment)
- assign categories to the bar of your choice
- unlimited number of bars (there are practical limits though before your screen becomes full)
- sort each bar differently if required
- user configurable bars per row
- sell junk items automatically or manually (delete available via a keybinding or right clicking when at a vendor)
- random pet and mount summons. can also assign a group of them to select from
Key Bindings:
- Press ESCAPE to bring up the blizzard menu
- click on Key Bindings
- scroll down to AddOns > ArkInventory
- bind the keys you want to use

:boom: The NoLib variant
it seems quite a few people are somehow getting the NoLib variant from their download client when they didn't specifically ask for it, instead of the full variant, and its causing issues as they don't have the required libraries installed separately. Please ensure you are downloading the full. if you see nolib in the filename then its the wrong variant, unless you are actually installing all of the required libraries separately as well. If you have to you can manually download the full variant from CurseForge, WoWInterface, or Wago.
:boom: Junk Sell getting blocked
While auto-destroy remains blocked, From 30960 onwards you can setup a Key Binding to manually sell and destroy your items. Note that blizzard require one keypress per item deletion, so if you have multiple items that need to be deleted you will need to press the Key Binding multiple times. A message will be output if you have remaining items that can still be deleted.
:warning: Ensure you have backup copies of your saved variables file
Sometimes you cannot revert back to a previous version without a backup, especially alpha or beta versions, so before upgrading please make sure you have made a backup of your saved variables file
Your saved variables file is normally located at ...\World of Warcraft\_client_\WTF\Account\yourwowaccountname\SavedVariables\ArkInventory.lua
It is your responsibility to ensure you have adequate backups of your saved variables file. You dont have to do them frequently, just after you've made major changes to your config is probably fine for most people, but you should get into the habit of making backups because when it does corrupt you wont have to reconfigure everything from scratch.
If you have your download client set to automatically download alpha/beta versions you should definitely have backups.
A simple way to back up the saved variables file is to just do a copy and paste then rename the new file (using the version number of ArkInventory or the date is a good idea), eg ArkInventory-30900.lua, or ArkInventory-20191228.lua
Several times now when I have logged off to get on another character, I am now being disconnected. Also, I have noticed an increase in the time that it takes to log off. Before it was almost instant, now I get a frozen screen for about 20-30secs before I either disconnect or go to character load screen.
Even though I have disabled Use Global Settings, what I do on one character still affects all but one of my characters.
The one character unaffected is the first character I logged onto wow with the mod.
And like the post below me I get an error ping when I log off.
Since having installed this mod, I get an error beep everytime I log off. Because it is being caused when I log off of a character i can't see what the error is.
Also i was curious to know if this mod can also show you the items that your other characters are currently wearing? I figure if I can see what is in their bank or in their bags, it would be cool to see what they are currently wearing since a lot of times I buy them items while I am on my main. There used to be an addon that did this, but it broke when BC was released, and the author quit the game, and stopped working on it. Just a thought to help increase the functionality of a great addon.
This is The best bag mod I have ever used. It whips one bag and one bag pockets that I was currently using. Thanks for the obvious hard work gone into this mod.
I have a very serious performance issue using ArkInventory, such as whenever I open my bags, memory usage skyrockets. Is this related to having lots of custom/built-in categories?
I'd love to keep using this, but at the moment I can't stand the UI slowdowns.
@Musluk - Yes, I am having the same issue. It seems to take forever to move items around or to move items from inventory to bank and vice versa. It's very slow and it lags. Sometimes it's quick, sometimes it takes up to 10 seconds to do something.
is there any way to separate each bag with a line or something? it is impossible to tell what item belongs to what bag, therefore making it really hard to swap bags out with your bank.
How do you make more rows? I have 1 row of 8 and at one point before I reset the settings I had a second row of 8 on top of those.
why I cant change bar direction settings to vertical? much thanks and very nice addon :)
This mod looks awesome and seams to work fine but i can not get the bags to open by simply clicking on the bags in the bag slot.. I have to use the key binding....
How do i fix that?
hi. can anyone tell me if there is a way for arkinventory to distinguish between soulbound items and soulbound items that are being used in 'outfitter'(http://wow-en.curse-gaming.com/files/details/4784/outfitter/) or maybe 'item rack'(http://wow-en.curse-gaming.com/files/details/1482/itemrack/) item sets? if not, does anyone know if theres any plan to? either way an amazing mod. gratz
This addon was working perfectly up till about a week ago. Initially when I start the game the mod still works fine, but after a while when the AI window is open, it stops updating. Eg, when I vendor my things, even after it's been sold I still see it in my inventory, but when I mouse over there's no tooltip so the system knows it's gone, but the graphics just hasnt been updated yet. Anyone else having similar problems?
Im having the exact same problem as phrozact. Worked fine for some weeks, then stopped updating the content. Only a relog would update the bags and the bags still wont update. I tried a /ai db reset confirm, which killed all my custom categories, but it did not fix the mod.
This doesnt work for bc does it?
Strangely i had problems using this while bartender3 was enabled but all i had to do was disable bar3, log in log out re-enable bar3 and everything was working fine again.
The error was something like "cannot index a ? value" whenever i tried to open the invetory page.
Great mod by the way, an option to move the inventory bars manually would be great though.
I cant seem to link stuff from my offline bank, can you? Solution right now is to lootlink the things i want to link, surely there must be a better way? :)
I absolutely love this mod, but I have 1 question. I see that it recognizes that one of my bank bags is an herb bag. However I don't think it's putting my herbs in it, can the mod do that automatically?
Yesterday I experienced that I bought 2 recipes from a merchant - but they did not show up in my ark-inventory-bag.... but the 2 slots were taken according to the info in Titan. I had to log out and in again before I could see (and use) them.
Anyone seen this before and knows how to avoid?
Using the latest version, I'm still experiencing a minor annoyance that I'm unable to rectify.
As i've posted before, I could not make Arkinventory set the window width to 8. By default on first load it was on 10, and when I slide the bar down, it goes to 9, but when it hits the minimum on the slider (8), the window actually pops back up to 10-wide. (this was on my main who has 3 18-slot bags, a 28-slot shard bag, and the 16-slot default backpack)
I created a brand new fresh character on a brand new server and loaded, and Arkinventory seemed to be working fine. I got him all 10-alot bags, and still it was working OK. Then I upgraded him to 16 slot bags yesterday and whammo! Arkinventory suddenly stopped being able to perform at 8-wide.
Don't ask me why I prefer it, but 8-wide just works for me.
Any idea on what is causing this and what I can do to rectify it?
