ArkInventory
ArkInventory (for The War Within)
:boom: Please ensure you are using the latest alpha version if you have the War Within client.
ArkInventory (for Retail, Classic, and Cataclysm)
ArkInventory's display windows are built from "virtual bars", you assign categories to bars so that items in that category are displayed on the specific bars you want. There is no limit to the number of bars you can have inside a window but obviously you only have so much screen real estate before it becomes "too many".
ArkInventory uses several methods to assign a default category to an item such as what professions you have, tooltip scanning, basic type/subtype and PeriodicTable. You then assign those categories to a virtual bar.
You can also over-ride the default category by creating a rule that matches either a single or multiple items.
Overview:
- user configurable window width and height
- separate keybindings for each location for easy viewing
- assign items to a category of your choice (overrides the default assignment)
- assign categories to the bar of your choice
- unlimited number of bars (there are practical limits though before your screen becomes full)
- sort each bar differently if required
- user configurable bars per row
- sell junk items automatically or manually (delete available via a keybinding or right clicking when at a vendor)
- random pet and mount summons. can also assign a group of them to select from
Key Bindings:
- Press ESCAPE to bring up the blizzard menu
- click on Key Bindings
- scroll down to AddOns > ArkInventory
- bind the keys you want to use

:boom: The NoLib variant
it seems quite a few people are somehow getting the NoLib variant from their download client when they didn't specifically ask for it, instead of the full variant, and its causing issues as they don't have the required libraries installed separately. Please ensure you are downloading the full. if you see nolib in the filename then its the wrong variant, unless you are actually installing all of the required libraries separately as well. If you have to you can manually download the full variant from CurseForge, WoWInterface, or Wago.
:boom: Junk Sell getting blocked
While auto-destroy remains blocked, From 30960 onwards you can setup a Key Binding to manually sell and destroy your items. Note that blizzard require one keypress per item deletion, so if you have multiple items that need to be deleted you will need to press the Key Binding multiple times. A message will be output if you have remaining items that can still be deleted.
:warning: Ensure you have backup copies of your saved variables file
Sometimes you cannot revert back to a previous version without a backup, especially alpha or beta versions, so before upgrading please make sure you have made a backup of your saved variables file
Your saved variables file is normally located at ...\World of Warcraft\_client_\WTF\Account\yourwowaccountname\SavedVariables\ArkInventory.lua
It is your responsibility to ensure you have adequate backups of your saved variables file. You dont have to do them frequently, just after you've made major changes to your config is probably fine for most people, but you should get into the habit of making backups because when it does corrupt you wont have to reconfigure everything from scratch.
If you have your download client set to automatically download alpha/beta versions you should definitely have backups.
A simple way to back up the saved variables file is to just do a copy and paste then rename the new file (using the version number of ArkInventory or the date is a good idea), eg ArkInventory-30900.lua, or ArkInventory-20191228.lua
Real nice inventory addon... my new favorite instead of bagnon...
2 small things though: a option to label each "bag" would be real nice, already mentioned by someone else! and is there any way of moving the position of the bars, as it's now they jump around when I add a new bar and I would love if I could put for example all my gear in one corner and so on!
Great addon! I've been looking for a good bag organizer for a while. One question; Is it possible to turn off ArkInventory for the bank display?
Is there a way to split up stacks when using this? For some reason, using the Shift-click and entering a number will work, but will NOT allow me to place the short stack in a slot. It will always recombine everything together. This makes it impossible to sell small lots at the AH.
Any ideas greatly appreciated!
Suggestion: I could really use a quick button (or the ability to bind) to toggle "Show Hidden." If this is already an option, I couldn't find it. :D
CT_MailMod and AI work perfectly for me (thank goodness!).
When used with BarTender3, you bars no longer change when you shape shift, stealth, or stance dance.
CT_MailMod does not function properly with this mod enabled. When you try to take mail from you mailbox, nothing happens, literally nothing. Other than that BEST MOD EVER.
Recently redid my ui, including arkinventory as per usual.
However this time, every time I open my bags...I get an error, and my inventory won't load.
I've tried deleting ark and redownloading multiple times, and have absolutely no clue why it stopped working.
The error is "Gratuity-2.0.lua:62: attempt to index field 'Rlines' (a nil value)"
Anyone have any ideas? Every other addon I installed works flawlessly.
Great addon! Using as a replacement for Bagnon, since Bagnon didn't support my netherweave bags >.>
SUGGESTION
Please, please give me an option to show the labels on each virtual-bag! Would make it easier on me to remember why I put something in a particular section.
ArkInventory did for some reason NOT work with OrA2 aswell after i updated it. Doesn't work at all with it. Took me an hour or so to find out what it was, cuz i just love this addon
I continue to have an issue where I cannot set the width of a window to 8. The default fresh load is 10-wide, but if I scroll it down to 8, it actually gets bigger. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?
Looks like 1.31 is incompatible with Trinity Bars. 1.29 works fine still so something got broke. :( Is there any information I can provide to fix this?
I love this mod, but it appears that any time an item is moved in my inventory or if I create an item from another item (for instance, large clams giving me clam meat) the mod discontinues refreshing, so my inventory appears static. As is now, every time my inventory changes I have to /ai standby, /ai standby to refresh the mod. Is there a way that this can be fixed? Thanks.

Best regards, Thomas
Got the same issue with french locale... switched to v1.29 and put frFR.lua in the locale directory, and i still have the same error frame, but now i can see my bags and have french locale installed...

This is pretty awesome. Only things I'd love to see added: -optional section text headers/custom titles -equipment subdivision (like hands/feet/chest.... etc)
you have to delete your old arkinventory directory bevore unzipping 1.31 - this should help
My new favorite inventory management addon!
A couple things I'd like to see: (Okay, more than a couple.)
1) The 'bars per row' includes the bars with nothing currently in them, I'd rather it include only the ones with things in them, except when in edit mode of course. Honestly, if you don't take any of my other suggestions, please consider this one.
2) A way to 'drag and drop' bars. Say I have the categories set for what I want, but I want to move that bar between what is now bar 4 and 5, making bar 3 the new bar 4 and shoving the current bar 4 to the new bar 3. Etc. Doing this by manually creating/deleting bars is a hassle, especially when lots of categories are involved, plus, sometimes the categories of the bar that gets deleted merge into neighboring bars, and then I have to hunt down the categories again.
3) In edit mode, a way to mouseover a bar's number and be told the categories currently assigned for that bar without having to click.
4) In edit mode, it won't show a row, so you can edit the bars on it, unless one of the bars on that row (or a higher row) currently has an item. Also, any bars, with nothing assigned to them, that are higher up than bars with something assigned to them, can't be deleted. This makes it annoying to set up the bars you want when your inventory is mostly empty.
5) When you click on the number of the bar, and assign a category, there's no easy way of making that menu go away other than waiting, or clicking on the number of a bar again. (Ideally, when you assign a category, the menu should close.) This isn't a big deal, maybe I just don't have the hang of it yet.
6) A lot of menus in the program will instantly disappear the moment your cursor leaves, with no wait time. (Sort of the opposite of the 'number of bar' menu, which has too long a wait time. =P)
7) The entire window (bars, and their contents), shove themselves towards the bottom right (priority is right to left, then upwards). I'd rather they try to reach the top left (priority of left to right, then downwards), instead (just in positioning and such, the actual contents are sorted correctly). You could even make this positioning corner an option, and you could even make a second option, one for the positioning of the bars, and one for the positioning of the contents within the bars.
8) I would like to be able to set the maximum and minimum 'columns per bar'. Or, alternatively, have the columns per bar set equally to every bar that currently has contents, with the column amount adjusting dynamically. (Currently, it seems like it cares more about keeping the same number of rows per bar, rather than columns...I care more about columns.) Being able to set the priority of 'equal bar sizing' to columns rather than rows would be preferable. I'd prefer equal-columned bars, not equal-rowed bars. Does that make sense? Basically, the way it works now, except columns instead of bars. In short, bars per row is being given higher priority than columns per bar, resulting in some 'squeezed' bars of only one column, I don't like that.
9) The Title frame is the only way I've found to reposition it. I'd prefer to leave the title frame disabled, but then I can't reposition it at all. Having a way to reposition it when the title frame is hidden (and a way to pick a corner to lock, as well), would be great.
10) You know how you can edit an item and choose which category you want for it? I'd like the option to reset all of that so all the items go into their default categories again.
11) The bars are spaced pretty far apart. I wouldn't mind them being a little closer together.
12) A way to take one or more bars, and create a custom window that contains only part of your inventory. Also, a way for that custom window, or your main inventory, to ignore the escape key and ALWAYS stay open, period, unless closed with the open-bag keybinding.
13) Auto close options unique per window...I want my bank window to close when I leave my bank, but my inventory to stay open when I leave my bank.
That's about all... Don't get me wrong, this addon is great, but were you to adopt even a couple of my suggestions, it would be perfect. ^_^ Let me know if any of these were confusing.
the best bankmod ever!
hi anytime if i look in my bank inventory, "offline", and go later to the bank for change some items to bank i cant do that. i must log off/in then i can transfere the item. no error messages are comming.
Hi, I love this addon, but atm it seems to work for a short period of time and then it seems to glitch, if i pick up an item, I cannot see it in my bag but if i hover my mouse over the empty slots it shows up as being there.
I got this error, where it doesnt show anything added to the inventory after a bit. And I had only used it a short time... it seems all these bag mods have bothersome flaws in them... and I like this one the best. :|
