What it does

Ackis Recipe List is an AddOn which will scan your trade skills and provide information on how to obtain recipes.

Russian (ruRU) - Сканирует ваши профессии и составляет список отсутствующих рецептов. Также отображает информацию о способах их приобретения.

Profession AddOns

Due to the increasing data size and memory usage with each WoW expansion, the professions have been split into their own AddOns; you need only download the ones you'll be using. Each installed and enabled profession AddOn will load whenever it's first accessed by the ARL core.

The individual profession AddOns can be found here:

Note that Ackis Recipe List will not work without the AddOn for the profession you are trying to scan. If you attempt to scan a profession that is not installed, you will be informed.

How to get it to work

You open up a trade skill window (ie: Enchanting) and click on the Scan button which is attached to the trade skill window. Results will be printed out to the chat frame, or into a separate window depending on preference.

Command Line

Ackis Recipe List has a GUI to change parameters. Type /arl to open up the GUI. Acceptable commands include:

Opens up the about panel, listing information about the mod:

- Opens up the sorting options:

- Scan a profession:

- Opens up in-game documentation regarding ARL:

Clicking

Ackis Recipe List will behave differently depending on which modifying keys you use to click.

Scan Button

This is the functionality that occurs when you are clicking the scan button.

Normal Click
- Performs a scan of the current tradeskill displaying recipes in a new window.
Shift Click
- Generates a text dumping of the current tradeskill in a format (CSV, XML, BBC) specified by the user.
Alt Click
- Removes all waypoints on the World Map and Mini-map generated by ARL.
Ctrl Click
- Provides development code for use when updating trainers, vendors, etc in the recipe database.

Recipe

This is the functionality that occurs when you click on a recipe.

Normal Click
- Expands or contracts the recipe acquire information.
Shift Click
- Generates an item link of the item that the recipe will make into your default chat box.
Ctrl Click
- Generates a spell link for the recipe you clicked.
Alt Click
- Adds or removes a recipe from the exclusion list.
Ctrl-Shift Click
- Adds the specific recipe acquire methods to the World Map and Mini-map.

Known Issues

When gaining a reputation level recipes for that faction will still appear in red when doing a scan.
Recipe acquire information is slightly inaccurate. We are updating recipes daily as information is identified. If you find something inaccurate or wrong, submit a ticket here and we will get it updated.

Feature Requests/Bug Reporting

Read the Bug Reporting and Feature Requesting information before submitted a bug report or feature request. Posting reports in the comments is not the place to do so. Ackis had to turn off the comments at Curse.com because of constant bug reports and feature requests. Comments are for questions on how to use the mod, or you can see the thread on WoW Ace. Please follow these small little instructions to make our lives easier. The easier you make development for Ackis Recipe List, the more time we will have to develop other addons.

Bug Reports

Please use the WoW Ace tracker to file bug reports. Posting bugs in the comments is not the place to do it.

Feature Request

Please use the WoW Ace tracker to add suggestions and feature requests. Not all suggestions will be accepted: there are many people who use this addon, each with separate views. We will, however, try to make it as user friendly as possible...but when a decision is made please accept it.

Integration

Ackis Recipe List strives to integrate with existing trade skill mods out there. If you have a request for integration, please submit a feature request at WoW Ace. We make no promises to implement the feature at all. There is a limited API documented to interface with the ARL database. Ideas for the mod came from FGTradeLacker (original mod no longer updated, however someone has taken over updating the recipes for it).

I've always been told not to download Betas, as they're unstable and have too many bugs remaining as they're mostly for testing. However, now you've already uploaded 2 Beta versions of ARL and even recommend people to download them.. so I'm wondering, why should I get a Beta version when I've always been advised against doing so, and why haven't you made a Release version yet? Mostly curious really, don't take offence.

Alpha versions are development versions, which may or may not work at all or may work but have many bugs. These are not recommended for anyone but the most dedicated testers.

Beta versions are decently tested by the developers - any existing bugs are not known or are explained in the ChangeLog. Though they may contain bugs, they can generally be used by the public at large - who will hopefully report any bugs they find so that they can be fixed.

Release versions have been tested both by the developers and users - all bugs which have been found have been fixed or documented.

Since it has been so long since the last release, and the next release is not yet ready, I have decided to release what I deem to be mostly-usable Beta versions which have had bugs fixed which were present in the previous release as well as several usability enhancements. This is why I recommend downloading the latest Beta version. It's your choice, but I really feel that the Betas I have been releasing are much more stable and functionally robust than the current Release.

Thanks for explaining, and also for reassuring me; I guess the people who warned me are the kind who are allergic to a small bug here and there. ;)

There is nothing to "get" - the project is in active development

The Alpha versions are for other developers and testers. If you don't want to keep updating, download only Beta or Release versions.

I really don't get why this mod is updated like 8 times a day. I get making changes and enhancements, but how much can there really be to do to this mod every single day?...lol.

Ok so I am not sure what is happening and it does not seem either side is saying anything about it so I am going to bring it out and see if ARL can at least answer it. Basically since the past patch ARL and QH are not playing nice. I do not know which one is causing the problem but a bunch of people are pointing the finger at ARL causing the problems with QH with quest updating, routing, etc etc and when ARL is disabled QH works perfectly fine after. Problem with that is nobody wants to disable ARL because its to valuable.

Now I am no mod maker or programmer however I have been building/networking computers for 18 years and I know better to start pointing fingers. What I am saying tho is that ARL and QH are not playing nice and the problem could be either one of the 2 mods or hell it could even be something in both. Some change in the patch caused this and I do not know what. Can I get something from ARL that they are at least aware of the problem and might be looking at it currently. They checked already and nothing has come up? Anything at all is better than nothing.

Is there a way to incorporate (or is there an existing mod) that keeps track of what companion pets all your toons have and a list of where to get the ones you have not gotten yet? I realize that this is not considered a recipe (unless you want to cook and eat your companions!) but I just love the unlearned list you get with this mod and where/how to get them.

a few ppl have been posting on QH that disabling ARL is fixing all their QH problems. I have confirmed this as well but considering I like ARL I and it does not really break my QH badly enough I still use them together.

I for one would love to see, in a future version of this, the tooltips to the right (when you hover over a missing recipe) to be one beneath the other; side by side they take up a lot of space on my UI and sometimes fold into each other if there isn't enough room. Also I would like a way to filter out recipes that have been removed from the game and are therefore no longer obtainable...

You can change where the tooltips are located, change how big they are, etc.

Type /arl to see all the options.

A suggestion for ARL. Some of the recipes listed are for the opposing faction (Horde in my case). I would like something that I can tick to exclude all opposing faction and ineligible recipes when you open ARL (i.e. I am Scryer so all Aldor LW recipes are not available to learn to me then so it excludes them by default too). Of course a function to disable this option should be there. And if someone switches faction, some sort of function to rescan the list and switch on Horde recipes and switch off Alliance recipes (same with the Aldor/Scryer switch). If this is possible, then it's appreciated by me.

oh hey, so sry for double post, but when the info pops out of the side of the of the recipe list window, there are 2 info windows that will overlap if the recipe list window is too close to the right side of the screen, could this be altered so the 2nd window displays under the first? ty

ok, love the recipe list but several problems, the location sort option doesn't care where i am in the game, meaning i have to mouse over every recipe and think about how close those recipe's are to me (this would be invaluable, but the locations seem to be randomized), the reputatation filters don't seem to work at all, when adding a reputation filters, even if i uncheck every single option, i still have no changes in my list, which sucks cuz i'm stuck with a list riddled with red items, you mentioned before that reputation updates aren't made when your reputation changes with a faction (that they will still remain red) how do i get it to update properly? will i have to delete the information file in the wtf folder? also last thing, when i shift+control click a recipe in the list to add a waypoint in my map, sometimes it sets a waypoint, sometimes it doesn't, if it does, it will everytime, if it doesn't, it never will, that means that apparently something in the game is changing and causing this feature to be disabled/enabled seemingly randomly, nothing i do seems to fix this, how can i fix this? ty so much this addon is very helpful

Even though I've set the filters to not include anything requiring Scryer's rep (I'm allied with the Aldor) recipes like Enchant Shield - Resilience still show Scryer trainers like High Enchanter Bardolan as a trainer to learn the skill. Is there anyway to set it to now show the Scryer trainers?

Also, whenever I Shift+Ctrl click a trainer/vendor in the list, it sets a waypoint for every trainer/vendor that trains/sells the recipe. Is there anyway to make it set a waypoint for only the trainer/vendor I'm Shift+Ctrl clicking on?

You can... Shift-click the scan button. Then you copy and paste the results to a work document and save it as a .csv file then open up that file in a spreadsheet.
