Profession AddOns
Due to the increasing data size and memory usage with each WoW expansion, the professions have been split into their own AddOns; you need only download the ones you'll be using. Each installed and enabled profession AddOn will load whenever it's first accessed by the ARL core.
The individual profession AddOns can be found here:
- Alchemy
- Blacksmithing
- Cooking
- Enchanting
- Engineering
- Inscription
- Jewelcrafting
- Leatherworking
- Mining
- Tailoring
Note that Ackis Recipe List will not work without the AddOn for the profession you are trying to scan. If you attempt to scan a profession that is not installed, you will be informed.
Where to get it

- Curse - Stable release
- WoWInterface - Stable release - Quite out of date

Known Issues
- When gaining a reputation level recipes for that faction will still appear in red when doing a scan.
- Recipe acquire information is slightly inaccurate. We are updating recipes daily as information is identified. If you find something inaccurate or wrong, submit a ticket here and we will get it updated.
Feature Requests/Bug Reporting
Read the Bug Reporting and Feature Requesting information before submitted a bug report or feature request. Posting reports in the comments is not the place to do so. Ackis had to turn off the comments at Curse.com because of constant bug reports and feature requests. Comments are for questions on how to use the mod, or you can see the thread on WoW Ace. Please follow these small little instructions to make our lives easier. The easier you make development for Ackis Recipe List, the more time we will have to develop other addons.
Bug Reports
Please use the WoW Ace tracker to file bug reports. Posting bugs in the comments is not the place to do it.
Feature Request
Please use the WoW Ace tracker to add suggestions and feature requests. Not all suggestions will be accepted: there are many people who use this addon, each with separate views. We will, however, try to make it as user friendly as possible...but when a decision is made please accept it.
Integration
Ackis Recipe List strives to integrate with existing trade skill mods out there. If you have a request for integration, please submit a feature request at WoW Ace. We make no promises to implement the feature at all. There is a limited API documented to interface with the ARL database. If you are a developer and would like more functions, please contact us on IRC. Currently, the mod works with:

It takes you six seconds to search for the term "Ackis", and less than five minutes to manually download and install all of the extra packs.
It takes you even less time if you use the (free and safe, contrary to popular opinion) Curse Client, in which case you would simply click a tab and type "Ackis" (three seconds), then click the "Install" button next to each pack (five seconds for all the packs).
Exactly what kind of "time wasting" are you talking about? You'd spend more time getting up from your computer to run to the fridge for a beer.
It is pretty basic that if your offering modules you offer a package of them as well. There are enough people asking for it. Why should I have to use the curse client if I do not want to use it I should not have to. Spending 5 minutes is pretty much the reason why which it did not take that long either but a single option still makes a lot of sense in the long run.
NOT using Curse Client is wasting time, if you ask me. :(
Please don't tell me you're still manually extracting add-on files to your WoW Interface folder...?
As per the ARL description:
"You can either download the Ackis Recipe List Addon Pack which has Ackis Recipe List's core and all profession AddOns, or install the profession AddOns separately:"
People are simply asking that the Addon Pack which contains the core plus ALL profession addons be made freely available for download instead of restricted to either the Curse Client or Curse Premium. Is that really such a difficult thing to comprehend? Not everyone wants to use the Curse Client nor have to pay to gain access to free addons!
Unfortunately getting all the addons in a single .zip doesn't seem possible on *Curse* unless we revert the change to split the professions out of the core. :\
You can still download them manually & individually via the addon pack page. Click through to each of the addons pages, and download that way. The way that things have been set up, you should only need to do each of the individual profession downloads once, MAYBE twice per patch.
i can't use the client. there is no supported version for macs... and no, i never want to use this funny graphic adventure called "Windows"...
So the all-in-one .zip that's now available only via the Curse Client and Curse Premium can't be provided for download on the standard Curse site? Strange then that other addons such as AtlatLoot don't seem to have a problem with providing a single, all-in-one .zip file that contains multiple main folders consisting of a core addon alongside multiple "modules" that have been set up as individual addons that rely on the core addon. Sadly this isn't the first time I've seen addon authors blame Curse for this "restriction" although I don't understand why Curse would impose such a restriction in the first place! Maybe they see it as a way to force people to either use the Curse Client or pay Curse for Premium access to what are supposed to be free addons! Ah well, regardless of the reasons, I'll just leave it to individuals to decide for themselves what they think of such a system!
Hi,
Is the modulisation (if that's a word) of the professions a way to focus glitches with 'to' a particular profession &/or a way to have each profession looked after by one particular person/team...?
I like that I can customise the modules on a per toon basis - thatnks for tweaking ARL thusly. :)
It was done for a few reasons, actually: A separation of concerns was certainly one of them. Then there's the reduction of memory usage, since only the professions you use ARL for in a given session will be loaded, and the fact that updating recipes in a profession doesn't necessitate a redownload of everything else. With the coming of Warlords of Draenor and the already gargantuan amount of data we have, it was time for a change like this.
Glad you like it!
I am also getting the error messages as well. I have the modules and everything.
it says The Ackis Recipe List Alchemy module is not loaded. Either it is not installed or is disabled.
I have not disabled or done anything to my ackis. it was working fine yesterday when i scanned to see what recipes i need to find.
I am completely updated as well.
You have the modules installed as AddOns, right? You didn't place them inside of the main ARL folder?
Getting error messages for each toon saying that profs module isn't loaded. Repeated attempts to load/reload addon not helping. This is after latest update (3.0.1)
Did you download the profession modules you want to use? If not, look at the Modules section of the description.
Feature request, well sort of.
Can you merge all the profession mods into one addon package for those of us that have all the profs on one alt or another and need them all anyway. My addon list is pretty long already.
There's a pack here: http://www.curse.com/addon-packs/wow/ackis-recipe-list-addon-pack
some modules don't seem to be working , already the Smelting window isent making a " scan " button
I'll check it out when I get home tonight. Strange, though, because I tested that it was working before I released it. Are there others, or just that one?
so far only Smelting seems to be affected , not sure why tbh lol
Fixed in 3.0.1
I have a question regarding the new modular implementation of Ackis Recipe List.
I use all the professions, and will be (clean) installing ARL and all its modules. Will I still see an improvement in memory usage in ARL 3.0?
