Profession AddOns
Due to the increasing data size and memory usage with each WoW expansion, the professions have been split into their own AddOns; you need only download the ones you'll be using. Each installed and enabled profession AddOn will load whenever it's first accessed by the ARL core.
The individual profession AddOns can be found here:
- Alchemy
- Blacksmithing
- Cooking
- Enchanting
- Engineering
- Inscription
- Jewelcrafting
- Leatherworking
- Mining
- Tailoring
Note that Ackis Recipe List will not work without the AddOn for the profession you are trying to scan. If you attempt to scan a profession that is not installed, you will be informed.
Where to get it

Known Issues
- When gaining a reputation level recipes for that faction will still appear in red when doing a scan.
- Recipe acquire information is slightly inaccurate. We are updating recipes daily as information is identified. If you find something inaccurate or wrong, submit a ticket here and we will get it updated.
Feature Requests/Bug Reporting
Read the Bug Reporting and Feature Requesting information before submitted a bug report or feature request. Posting reports in the comments is not the place to do so. Ackis had to turn off the comments at Curse.com because of constant bug reports and feature requests. Comments are for questions on how to use the mod, or you can see the thread on WoW Ace. Please follow these small little instructions to make our lives easier. The easier you make development for Ackis Recipe List, the more time we will have to develop other addons.
Bug Reports
Please use the WoW Ace tracker to file bug reports. Posting bugs in the comments is not the place to do it.
Feature Request
Please use the WoW Ace tracker to add suggestions and feature requests. Not all suggestions will be accepted: there are many people who use this addon, each with separate views. We will, however, try to make it as user friendly as possible...but when a decision is made please accept it.
Integration
Ackis Recipe List strives to integrate with existing trade skill mods out there. If you have a request for integration, please submit a feature request at WoW Ace. We make no promises to implement the feature at all. There is a limited API documented to interface with the ARL database. If you are a developer and would like more functions, please contact us on IRC. Currently, the mod works with:

Hello virgin poster here, I logged into wow to find my ackis was still broken, I went to curse client update to the ver303, restarted wow to find it still broken I then found the link to all the sub proffessions did that, Still not workin. So I decided to find an alternate recipe addon, I found Look! New Recipe and RecipeKnown intalled those with ackis still loaded went back into wow and BAM! it was working...Ahem..P.S. I also installed Grail as one of my addons required it, I dont think that had anything to do with it. But then I AM NOT a coder..
Those two AddOns have nothing to do with ARL. What likely happened was that you installed the ARL Profession AddOns while you were still in WoW, which does not load them. Coming back into the game loaded them, and now you're good to go.
This has me totally confused I d/l the core pack but still nothing is working...
I don't mind that I had to install all the different professions. My only issue is for it to have been a pop up when you first log in with the add-on with no other profession additions available. Just a little more informative is all. :)
Excellent suggestion! Added to 3.0.4, though not on login - too many AddOns try to give information as soon as you log in, so I made ARL give the notice when you try to use it.
In the same boat. Great addon, but I really don't want to download every profession specifically, since I have them all.
Was a really helpful addon that I used for years. Now, complete and utter shit after splitting everything up requiring you to download each and every prof seperately, deleting immediately.
People obviously can't read. In the description there is a link to an addon pack that includes everything in one download. There's no need to be offensive towards a person who spends tons of time yet offers us something free to use that enhances our gameplay. Even if you were to think the mod is unusable now (give me a break, honestly), you still owe them for all the time you've enjoyed the addon before changes were introduced that you didn't like. Show a little bit of gratitude and get your ass off your shoulders.
You don't get it do you? Firstly, i've never shown anything disrespectful towards the creator of this addon.
What i did mention was this and i'll repeat (but not word for word) ForteXorcist was once like this one is now. For every class a module you had to enable per char in ur addons windown in wow. They managed to get them all in 1 download but not only that, they also made it so that i don't have to go through every char to enable and/or disable modules.
What i said was constructive and it also made a suggestion. So before you start bashing everyone in 1 generalisation, i'd rather see you being aware of some differences between the replies.
Needless to say that i'm still using this addon (cause it's the best) though i'm not pleased with 12 more addons total in my list. 12 more to update with the curse client which doesn't put them all in 1 download.
On a calmer note...
Are there any plans to unlink 'Raid Drop' recipes from their 'World Drop' tags? My thinking is that a 'World Drop' would not include Instances, as they have their own search criteria.
If posting suggestions here is the wrong place to do so, I apologise, but I remain hopeful that this could get implemented. :)
Keep up the good work, all...
With all due respect to Torhal & his team, if you don't like how he and the team have changed the way this mod. works, you don't "have" to use it.
Just like any other mod., the game doesn't "need" it to run, you choose to use the mod., to make "YOUR" game-life easier.
Instead of venting you spleen, here, either write your own code or find the time to get this code to run the way the author intended it to. Torhal is the one doing "US" a favour writing the code; if you can't be grateful for his efforts, stop using his code, walk away & don't look back... simple.
Oh; and if your parents can't afford to buy you Curse Premium, then maybe it's time to start paying for your OWN gaming... just sayin'.
No longer works.
goto downloads and download 2.5.13 that one still works till the developer removes or changes it
anyone know a better recipe book than this unfavouriting this now that its seperated into about 20 addons totally pointless if they had to split why not put the trades into 1 and the ui into another not all them downloads.. BYE BYE
Have fun!
I get an error that tells me "The "Ackis Recipe List: Jewelcrafting" AddOn is not loaded. Either is is not installed or it is disabled. I have verified its installed..obviously and that it is enabled, any suggestions? It does this for all my professions
BAD IDEA.
If you wish split, the best thing (IMAO) would make three modules as much
Since i first found out about the10 modules on the 4th of June i feel like saying this:
ForteXorcist used to be like this, with a module for every class and even 3 for warlocks. They managed to get it into 1 addon, 1 name, 1 download. Now these changes to ARL feel like going back in time. All of a sudden i have 10 addons more in the list cause my chars cover all profs. Wasn't like a fun thing to get working either cause like ForteXorcist in the past, now ARL makes me go through all my chars addon list to only load what's necessary for that char.
While i greatly appreciate the work made here throughout the years (and i use it a lot), i don't like this change and i ask you to seriously to consider making it into 1 addon, 1 name, 1 download again like they were able to do with ForteXorcist.
Omg. Seriously? You are concerned about a huge (25MB for all professions modules!!!!111) memory using and splitted addon into 12 parts? Next thing u shld do - separated addon for every recipe in game, each no more than 0.047kb, hope this will save even more RAM. Rly... It is very important for modern computers with 8+ GB of RAM. xD
You write "look at DBM or BigWigs" but they does not have separate part for EVERY dungeon. They have 2-3 not 10+ parts. Think about it.
Goodbye and good luck Ackis Recipe List. It was a great time with u. Unfavorited and deleted.
In the long run for the modules it will be better for the devs of the addon to update it faster
As for memory it is not a problem really
To what I know how wow works it will still load the addons into memory even if they are told not to load this is a fact and blizzard states this comes back if u have trouble with the standard ui that comes with wow blizzard says to delete all addons and to run wow as it is to work out what is causing the problem
