Profession AddOns
Due to the increasing data size and memory usage with each WoW expansion, the professions have been split into their own AddOns; you need only download the ones you'll be using. Each installed and enabled profession AddOn will load whenever it's first accessed by the ARL core.
The individual profession AddOns can be found here:
- Alchemy
- Blacksmithing
- Cooking
- Enchanting
- Engineering
- Inscription
- Jewelcrafting
- Leatherworking
- Mining
- Tailoring
Note that Ackis Recipe List will not work without the AddOn for the profession you are trying to scan. If you attempt to scan a profession that is not installed, you will be informed.
Where to get it
- WoW Ace - Alpha Quality
- Curse - Stable release
- WoWInterface - Stable release - Quite out of date

Known Issues
- When gaining a reputation level recipes for that faction will still appear in red when doing a scan.
- Recipe acquire information is slightly inaccurate. We are updating recipes daily as information is identified. If you find something inaccurate or wrong, submit a ticket here and we will get it updated.
Feature Requests/Bug Reporting
Read the Bug Reporting and Feature Requesting information before submitted a bug report or feature request. Posting reports in the comments is not the place to do so. Ackis had to turn off the comments at Curse.com because of constant bug reports and feature requests. Comments are for questions on how to use the mod, or you can see the thread on WoW Ace. Please follow these small little instructions to make our lives easier. The easier you make development for Ackis Recipe List, the more time we will have to develop other addons.
Bug Reports
Please use the WoW Ace tracker to file bug reports. Posting bugs in the comments is not the place to do it.
Feature Request
Please use the WoW Ace tracker to add suggestions and feature requests. Not all suggestions will be accepted: there are many people who use this addon, each with separate views. We will, however, try to make it as user friendly as possible...but when a decision is made please accept it.
Integration
Ackis Recipe List strives to integrate with existing trade skill mods out there. If you have a request for integration, please submit a feature request at WoW Ace. We make no promises to implement the feature at all. There is a limited API documented to interface with the ARL database. If you are a developer and would like more functions, please contact us on IRC. Currently, the mod works with:
If your mod should be on this list, please submit a ticket.

You don't need to be a premium member to use the download pack link. you don't even need to be logged on. It takes around 5 seconds to download and install with curse client.
Despite the anoying ads the client is perfectly safe. Most problems are with wow users useing infected websites. Or stupidly checking out goldsellers websites.
All you need is a decent virus scanner and firewall, Spybot Search & Destroy, malwarebytes antimalware, and NoScript firefox addon and better websurfing habits.
WOW thats a fail, add so much junk that you make ppl add stuff they do not want
"Due to the increasing data size and memory usage with each WoW expansion"
That hysterical moment when you realize that individually the absolute largest pack is 35kb.. on 56k dial up from 1998, it would take less than 10 seconds to download all 11 profession packs.
And you want to say that size is the reason? Yeah, sure, ok. We believe you. Way to pointlessly inconvenience your user base in order to sell a premium sub or two.
Remind me to re-enable Adblock for this site. Nvm, already done.
edit: and just for the record, I've been using this site since late '07, early '08. This is the first time I've read something so insanely idiotic, like the reasoning pointed out above, that I felt the need to comment on it. Congrats.
I'm not sure what people are talking about with the premium sub comments and not being able to download "packs" without a premium sub. I have this addon installed along with some of the profession addons separately. You don't have to use the addon "pack", and I don't use it myself. Each of the profession modules shows as a separate addon in Curse client. I just click the update button whenever one of those is updated. I don't have a premium sub. I'm not sure what is so difficult about having them broken up. I figure it's easier since the modules can be updated independantly without having to update the entire addon each time. I really don't see what makes this so time consuming or difficult for people and it doesn't "require" a premium sub.
Please remove Pattern: High Society Top Hat from the list of potential patterns for Tailoring.
wowhead post:
We're unfortunately not able to give out game hints of any kind, but as for the Black Silk Vest and High Society Top Hat recipes, I'm afraid they may be currently un-used, even if the items are currently in the game files.
So many ungrateful people - Add-ons are (and always have been) a coinvenience to make the game easier for you to play - they are NOT (and never have been) ESSENTIAL for the game to work, so YOU choose to use them; if you don't like the way someone chooses to implement the use of THEIR code (oh, sorry; that's right - you asked Torhal to write the code specifically for you, didn't you...?), then simply uninstall it and look elsewhere for a better way to make YOUR game-life easier.
As for the ease of use of Curse Client - downloading & unzipping code manually is easier, is it... for however many add-ons you choose to include to make your game easier to play...? Sorry - Curse Client is by far the easier way to go, if you know where you game installation Folder is; ooops; that would mean having to learn how to use Windows (not INTERNET) Explorer... :P
Curse client is practically spyware, a lot of people don't want unnecessary junk like that on their computer.
Splitting the addon up is a pain in the ass, and curse doesn't let you download 'packs' without paying for premium.
There bug with obtaining Detchchill cloak\Wispcloack recipes becouse of general bug with obtaining meta-achievement, here post with blueposter's answer that confirm it somehow - http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/11478137843?page=1#4
Please include all addons in a standard zip-file.
I'm not using Curse client and I'm sorry, but it absolutely sucks, that we now have to download 11 different addons to get the functionality we had before.
The way this previously great addon is structured now is just awful :(
It should make it more easy now to update each module now I like it the way it is now... it is not a problem to download and install all modules and tell game to load them all
Having all the professions as separate addons is a questionable decision, IMO. Why not make each profession a submodule that could be unchecked (and therefore not loaded) like Altoholic and Carbonite? Those addons are still a single download with modular functionality.
Not thrilled with Curse add-on pack, simply because the only two times I installed the curse program (hey, I gave it a second chance), it destroyed my World of Warcraft code and I had to REINSTALL it TWICE!!! (Do you have any idea how long it takes to reload the entire World of Warcraft software??? You don't want to know.) I will, however, happily download the professions separately to enjoy the Ackis add-on. Clearly it's worth it to me. :)
Get an error - can you please help me? Thanks!

I'm afraid that your error is being caused by Recipe Radar and not ARL. You may want to check here to see if there have been others with the same issue. It could also be a compatibility issue between RR and ARL since they roughly do the same things, except ARL was last updated 7 hours ago (as of this post) and RR was last updated 3 years ago.
I would like a straight-up, simple, bundled version of the whole addon suite that doesn't rely on any optional Curse software/services in order to download/install; able to be installed manually but simply — with just one download required.
The Ackis List Recipe Addon Pack (Curse-based bundle of ARL + profession modules) is not going to work for people who don't use Curse Premium or Curse "client" (downloader helper / auto-installer).
Blizzard seems leary of addon installer applications for security reasons.
For people who don't use eithe of these Curse options, could you please create a Curse project which includes ARL plus all professions.
While I salute supporting users with only a couple of characters who only use a couple professions who care more about saving a tiny bit of memory/disk space than the ease of keeping the addon easily/coherently up to date, I figure they are in the minority.
I think most users will eventually find themselves just wanting the whole ball of wax in one big, zipped up download (core+suites) they can unzip, and drag the subdirs into the WoW Addons directory of their hard drive.
This seems to be what most addon suites already do [with DBM being an obvious and painful exception to the rule that proves my point pretty well].
Perhaps you could call the project "ARLsuite" and generate the combinzed zip file as part of the ARL automated build process.
It seems something like this is the practice for other WoW addons suites such as Auctioneer Suite, etc. DBM seems to ownly offer itself in separate modules still, and that's a real pain.
Having to open the web pages for 11 other projects in order to get support for the professions that made me want to use/love ARL in the first place seems to be a pain. As matter stand now, I will have to track twelve addon projects in Curse, interspersed with all the rest I track. That's just too painful.
If I accidentally update a profession without updating the core, or I update the core and miss one of the 11 professions, WoW might become unstable and it might not be obvious to me why — given the dynamic nature of Lau exceptions and WoW error-detection.
An error in one addon, which can be triggered by a fault as tiny as having a component of it out of date and not just programming errors, can cause slow motion, invisible domino effect as a chain-of-events is set in motion that internally causes one addon after another to affect each other.
The root causes are often not clear at all to a user. Seems like the sort of thing one wants to make the least likely as possible not more likely to occur.
The link to Mr Trader in the online documentation here on this page for ARL is wrong or out of date, bringing up an HTTP 404 error page from Curse addon.
http://www.curse.com/addons/wow/mrtrader
Link in the documentation above to
http://www.curse.com/addons/wow/advanced-trade-skill-window
is broken. Curse throws up a fancy HTTP 404 (URI not found) error message page when you click the link.
I suspect this happens because the original ATSW addon is obsolete, having been replace a year or so ago with ATSW 2 which was a heavy rewrite of the original addon.
In addition to the link needing to be fixed in the online, I am also curious of the addon will work with ATSW 2. Because I really like ARL and I am interseted in trying out ATSW 2 if they are [still] compantible/friendly with each other.
The URL to
http://www.curse.com/addons/wow/mrtrader
also causes Curse to throw up an HTTP 404 error message page.
While I understand the concern for higher file sizes and stuff, for a player that does every tradeskill in game this is a bit of an inconvience. The mod is great but this recent split up isnt very kind of a change.
Reverted back to 2.6.5 just for ease of use.
I noticed that the recent update doesn't differentiate the level 475 ring enchants and the level 550 ring enchants. When you learn the 550 ring enchants, it overwrites the level 475 ones. As of now, the level 475 ring enchants remain on the list of unlearned enchants. Wonderful addon, by the way. Thank you. =D
