Profession AddOns
Due to the increasing data size and memory usage with each WoW expansion, the professions have been split into their own AddOns; you need only download the ones you'll be using. Each installed and enabled profession AddOn will load whenever it's first accessed by the ARL core.
The individual profession AddOns can be found here:
- Alchemy
- Blacksmithing
- Cooking
- Enchanting
- Engineering
- Inscription
- Jewelcrafting
- Leatherworking
- Mining
- Tailoring
Note that Ackis Recipe List will not work without the AddOn for the profession you are trying to scan. If you attempt to scan a profession that is not installed, you will be informed.
Where to get it
- WoW Ace - Alpha Quality
- Curse - Stable release
- WoWInterface - Stable release - Quite out of date
Do this first
Read the documentation located at these locations:
How to get it to work
You open up a trade skill window (ie: Enchanting) and click on the Scan button which is attached to the trade skill window. Results will be printed out to the chat frame, or into a separate window depending on preference.

Known Issues
- When gaining a reputation level recipes for that faction will still appear in red when doing a scan.
- Recipe acquire information is slightly inaccurate. We are updating recipes daily as information is identified. If you find something inaccurate or wrong, submit a ticket here and we will get it updated.
Feature Requests/Bug Reporting
Read the Bug Reporting and Feature Requesting information before submitted a bug report or feature request. Posting reports in the comments is not the place to do so. Ackis had to turn off the comments at Curse.com because of constant bug reports and feature requests. Comments are for questions on how to use the mod, or you can see the thread on WoW Ace. Please follow these small little instructions to make our lives easier. The easier you make development for Ackis Recipe List, the more time we will have to develop other addons.
Bug Reports
Please use the WoW Ace tracker to file bug reports. Posting bugs in the comments is not the place to do it.
Feature Request
Please use the WoW Ace tracker to add suggestions and feature requests. Not all suggestions will be accepted: there are many people who use this addon, each with separate views. We will, however, try to make it as user friendly as possible...but when a decision is made please accept it.
Integration
Ackis Recipe List strives to integrate with existing trade skill mods out there. If you have a request for integration, please submit a feature request at WoW Ace. We make no promises to implement the feature at all. There is a limited API documented to interface with the ARL database. If you are a developer and would like more functions, please contact us on IRC. Currently, the mod works with:
If your mod should be on this list, please submit a ticket.

LOL @ JDC III in changelog...
If one creates an account and logs on one still cannot download the addon pack. Please fix your downloading.
I'm an engineer on my warrior and I used to uncheck all of the classes except for Warrior in the recipes tab of ARL. The problem with this recently is that it has decided that all of those items are usable and obtainable despite me not being of that class.
http://www.wowhead.com/item=35186 for example, shows that I can learn it in my list. You cannot grab these as a collector and just learn them. You must be a priest, mage, or warlock to even learn this pattern. You get "You can't use that item." error when you try to learn this pattern otherwise.
Its an odd issue with Blizzard's API.. We pull a lot of information from the item itself, and for some reason Blizzard's stripped out classes for many recipes.. So when I do a dump of all the recipes, it pulls out all the classes which we'd previously set.. I'd need to go through them all and re-set them all.
I can do it, it'll just be a bit time consuming.
every time i log in. was working fine and today any toon i log in, i get this.

i posted that on the datastore_craft and agenda page cause i think it might not be caused by ackis, just like the datastore_craft error was.
Yup. Not ARL.
The Engineering scan is not giving me the red overlay over the purchased recipes for Draenor recipes. All of the other Ackis addons are working properly.
Red overlay?
thats what happends when you open the enchanter follower in your enchanting emporium thingy....
the errors keep going up by the second

This is an error for DataStore_Crafts, not Ackis Recipe List. The only reason ARL is mentioned is because it's the first AddOn to load the AceAddon library, which DataStore also uses.
what addon is using datastore_crafts? i wasnt even aware i downloaded that addon
btw, thanks for the reply i posted my error on their curse page
DataStore is part of Altoholics addon files
Just installed the core addon and the modules I need manually after downloading them one by one, but for some reason sone of them (namely Inscription and Alchemy) don't load at all despite being enabled and ARL fires a warning message that no plug-in for the selected profession has been found.
Not sure as to why, no matter how much I fiddle some tradeskills seem unwilling to be recognized... such a bore as I'd really love the addon as a scribe!
You should be installing them in Interface\AddOns if you aren't; don't put them in the main ARL folder.
I did of course, they sit next to the main addon in the appropriate Interface/AddOns folder, but Ackis still refuses to recognize some plugins as being there, while perfectly noticing other ones and working flawlessly.
Not sure what possibly might cause that but here goes, it's a pity because I cae to rely so heavily on it to keep my tradeskills under check
Try downloading the modules again. There was an issue where Curse was listing older versions of some of them, which would cause a popup saying they were the wrong version.
I manually downloaded all the latest files on the 18th December, the day after everything was updated. Just found out today that the Smelting module I downloaded is "incompatible" because it is version 0 and I should have version 1. Did a quick double-check and sure enough the file that Curse links to for manual download is v6.0.2.1 instead of v6.0.3.1. So I then checked every ARL addon and found the same problem with the Jewelcrafting, Leatherworking, Smelting and Tailoring addons, in that a manual download results in getting an older version instead of the latest version!
So figured I'd post an FYI for the ARL team so that someone can correct the file downloads for the Jewelcrafting, Leatherworking, Smelting and Tailoring addons, and anyone else who has done a manual download since the 17th December can check to see if they have the correct versions of those 4 profession addons.
